Brickliners Chimney Service

Brickliners was out last year to point my chimney. They also relined it and put on a chimney cap. The relining guarantee requires that a professional clean my chimney yearly. They came this year and were prompt, professional, quick, and very neat. They were knowledgeable about what needed work, took the time to explain and detail what needed to be done and willing to work with me on pricing since what I needed last year was quite extensive. I will be happy to be using them in the future for my chimney and wood stove needs.

Arrived on time, very professional and friendly. Work was completed as described and looks great! This was one of those jobs that needed to be done for some time but was put off since it's relatively small and it's difficult to find someone to take it on. I'm very pleased with the result. This is my second experience with Brickliners. They rebuilt a chimney for my mother and that experience went equally well. They are the folks I'll call for any similar work. While the quote may not be the lowest you'll get, for me, the peace of mind, reliable and friendly service and professional work they provide is worth every penny. Plus, it was a nice little surprise to get a thank you note for my business afterwards - now how often does that happen?

I appreciated that they have an automatic scheduler so that they contact you so you remember to have your chimney inspected. They work with you to set up and appointment that is convenient and they show up at the time they say they are going to show up. We used them also, they have a very good reputation and they pointed out a lot of things that needed to be done. They are working with us to try and prioritize so that we can budget. Their prices have gone way up over the years because we have gotten quotes from them over the years.

The guys that came out were really polite and helpful. I have asked them to come and do a chimney cap but then when they were there I asked them about something to stop a draft and they suggested a different kind of chimney cap that is actually retractable and it tilts down. So, we went with that and they had to go and get it because they have not brought that with them. They were really fast and we liked the finished product a lot. We also called them back because it had loosened a little brick and they were very prompt in coming out and re-tightening it. In general, we were just very very happy with them.

It went fine. They were responsive, they showed up when they said they would, and did the job. Their price was reasonable.

I had to call them about a year after they cleaned with an issue. When they came out again they told me my chimney was not dirty. I thought this was decent of them because they could have cleaned it again and charged me so I give them good honesty ratings.

I spoke with the Brickliners technician by phone regarding a roof leak around the chimney following significant rain storms. I specifically requested that if he found a hole or crack to caulk it temporarily until a permanent fix could be made. I told him I would be happy to pay immediately for the temporary fix. After the inspection, the technician left me a message that he found a hole and inspected it. He also said he poked around it and could see the rafters through the hole. He left an estimate for the permanent fix, but did not provide any temporary fix as I requested. I climbed up on the roof myself with some roof caulk from Home Depot and discovered a quarter size hole in the lead chimney flashing. I caulked it myself which stopped the leaking. I then received another estimate and had the work completed by another company. (The same work cost substantially less than the Brickliner estimate.) I regard the pricing difference not as much of an issue as the failure to provide the temporary fix. That was irresponsible because it left my home vulnerable to substantial additional water damage if I had not caulked it myself until the permanent fix could be made.

I was really impressed. They basically charged me for the service visit which was quite reasonable. They were very careful about keeping things perfectly clean which is what you would expect but is very difficult to do. The inspection of the chimney resulted in one suggestion which made perfect sense. I did not get the impression that they were looking for something they could sell me.

Provided the estimate very promptly and did a very good job of assessing the repairs needed. However, estimate was way above others, so did not use.

They showed up right away, fixed the flashing, and left saying they would get back to me with the bill.

We liked everything. The price was reasonable. They were good. They were punctual and they told us what they needed to do. They did it in a certain amount of time and the price range was within whatever they told us or quoted us. We haven’t had any leaks since then that we could see. They guarantee their work and told us that we won’t have any trouble again. We are very pleased with that. We have had over time somebody checking the liners and somebody checking the roof. We had a new roof put on about 4 years ago. We had the roofing guy come and check all the flashing. He told us the flashing is fine around the chimney. We went round and round, until the Brickliners Chimney Service came and told us that we actually needed work inside the chimney.

Initially we had Brickliners come out and to inspectrepair (due to leakage after heavy rains) and sweep the chimneys. The two technicians were professional, respectful, courteous, and thorough. There was a slight delay in scheduling the follow up repairs but a visit with the scheduler was successful. The technicians called to see if they could come a day early. The work was done in the same professional manner as before.

They were great. The cost was reasonable. They were very friendly and they were able to talk to all the children in a daycare that I run. They communicated in a way to where the kids understood where they were taking the squirrels. They got back with us quickly and they were able to come out soon after the phone call.
