I was very disappointed. My experience does not match any of the recommendations I read on your site.

We went to Angie's List to find our contractor. We were pleasantly surprised when Dave answered the phone immediately (no days of waiting for a call-back like some others). We set up an appointment for an estimate right away. After an initial inspection and measurements by his foreman, Dave returned with a detailed proposal of the work to be done, including all associated costs. His prices were among the best we had seen, and he said that the job could be completed in two days. His team showed up promptly and worked very efficiently and professionally, even through some rain and wind to complete the last corner of the roof before a storm set in. They were very respectful of our home and yard and cleaned up after they were done each day. We really couldn't have asked for a better team to complete this job, and we plan on calling them again for future home projects. Dave and his team are a very friendly, polite, skilled group of guys that should be YOUR choice, too. Our roof looks beautiful! We are very pleased!

I called Top Notch Roofing on the evening of Saturday March 30th. I, of course, expected to leave a voice mail. But the owner, David Smith, answered! He offered to come over the following day to provide a free estimate. He arrived at noon exactly as he said he would. He provided a detailed quote with a couple of scenarios. The quote was detailed and competitive. We promptly said we wanted Top Notch to do the roofing. They said the could begin 3 days later and that it would take 2 days. They began on Wednesday and finished on Thursday. The crew was efficient, skilled, professional and tidy. I can't recommend their responsiveness, communication and quality of work high enough! Look no further than Top Notch Roofing!

The work went well.They stayed late monday to finish before tuesday snowstorm.

Top Notch deserves their name, as they were prompt, professional, friendly and expeditious. We were not in residence when the job was done, but Mr. David Smith (the owner), kept us up to date with progress reports on the project. He had to work under trying conditions (snow, snow and more snow--with a little rain and fierce winds thrown in), but he managed to get the job done. Our neighbor (who lives in a house nearby, but up higher on the hillside), took photos for us of the finished job. I honestly don't know how he managed it, as It looks perfect. So my hat is definitely off to Mr. Smith and his crew, for a great job. I would recommend him without reservation.

After being in contact with five different contractors I found that they would never show up when they said they would and wouldn't call either. Dave from top notch stayed in communication with me. If he wasn't able to make an appointment he would call me and let me know. He said the guys would only be here for two days and he was right. They came in got the work done and did a great job. I will use them again for my next home project.

Overall, the service was good. The estimate was consistent with the final price with the exception that they found I had no plywood under shingles, so they needed to lay down plywood to keep the new shingles effective in preventing leaks and keep the warranty valid. They did not know they had to do this when they provided estimate, but it did increase cost significantly. Following this, they were to replace tiles in the 3 season porch that had gotten water damage on them. I have waited a month for them to come finish the job. When I called, they told me they had in fact forgotten to order the tiles, but they were just ordered that day and that the foreman for the job would be out the day after the ceiling tiles come in. Customer service has been friendly and professional. Teamwork during the job was evident.

I contacted David Smith of Top Notch Roofing on November 12 for a quote on replacing roofing on my house. The price was in line with my expectations for architectural shingles, and Top Notch offered a good warranty. When I learned that they worked weekends, I asked if it would be possible to do the job during the coming weekend (November 17-18), as good weather was forecast, and a later installation might be complicated by colder weather and snow. They arrived in the afternoon on November 16 and started stripping the old shingles and put the new material packages along the ridge. The crew of 6 worked Saturday and Sunday and completed the work Sunday afternoon. They protected landscaping with tarps and kept the ground clean, picked things up as they went, and hauled away the debris. They cleaned and raked the grass before they left, and they left the yard as they found it. Two of the crew returned the next day, on request, to check the function of a vent and to neatly tie off TV cable. Overall, we were very pleased with the efficiency and quality of the work.

Story is TOP NOTCH roofing is the best I've seen to date. Dave showed up quickly for an estimate knew exactly what I wanted. The boys showed up on time cleaned up perfectly and the attention to detail was outstanding. They even made it so my old rain gutters would drain properly by applying metal to divert the rain properly. I cannot say enough great things. you will not be disappointed. They arrived late at the work site. They arrived poorly prepared to do the job. (lack of proper tools and equipment) The materials (metal roofing) did not arrive on time. They left damaged eve trim sheetmetal in place when they left. (photos available) I believe an absolute minimum of materials were delivered to the worksite, that's why they left the damaged eve trim in place. Because they didn't have the material on hand to replace it. Overall workmanship was not up to expectations. They originally estimated the job would take two days. They completed the job in one day, rushing through the work at the expense of quality workmanship as far as I'm concerned. I'm found them to be unresourceful when it came to dealing with any sort of adversity. If things weren't absolutely perfect, which they were not on this project, they basically didn't know how to deal with it.

Responded very quickly to our request for an estimate, crew was on site when they were expected, no clean up at all for us, roof and gutters look great, we've had many compliments on the work

It went fine. They did their job. The final price was more than the estimate and I had to request cleanup afterward; wash skylight on roof, pick up fuzz off shingles. The roof is supposed to last 20 yrs. I will be dead in 10.

They arrived in specified time frame, were fast efficient and did excellent work. They were very reasonably priced.

Dave and his crew arrived on time and set right to work. Within minutes, the old shingles were flying off the roof. The crew worked so efficiently together - a very well ailed team. Clean up was superb!! They did a great job - the roof looks great!!

Dave Smith, the owner, promptly returned my call and came to give an estimate that same day. He was pleasant, conscientious, and knowledgeable, taking the time to completely answer all of my questions. He readily offered references, and suggested other roofs that we could look at to compare shingle colors. He was flexible and understanding of our need to change the original start date. I was very impressed with the smooth and efficient way the crew set up their staging. They arrived promptly each day and went straight to work. They worked very hard as individuals, and also demonstrated great teamwork. The complicated nature of the roof did not seem to phase them - they handled every section with care and skill. They were at all times polite and professional. No debris was ever left at the end of the day - they picked up all nails, and left our planted flower beds and shrubbery looking great. Our roof turned out beautifully. Topnotch Roofers should take great pride in their skills and hard work ethic . I would highly recommend them - they did an excellent job.

After waiting for weeks and months to get an estimate from other contractors I met with Dave from Top Knotch in under a week from initial contact. His estimate was among the most reasonable. I signed on the spot. Work was completed the following week. His crew left the site spotless. When I asked for new gutters and downspouts Dave brokered the job with another company and did not charge anything extra for his involvement. Dave uses the old fashion business goal of maximizing customer satisfaction not just maximizing profit.

We had a wonderful experience with Top Notch Roofing. As relatively new homeowners, we had not had experience with any sort of contractor for a major home improvement project. We were certainly careful with our selection, and had no less than 6 estimates performed by various companies around the area. Top Notch was the most responsive, and were on site the same day as we contacted them to perform an estimate for us. They had the overall lowest price. Some estimates were cheaper, but did not include haul away or disposal for the old roof materials - other estimates required you to rent a dumpster to have on site and coordinate the drop off/pick up/disposal of materials. The crew was prompt, and worked solid all day - I never once saw any workers wasting time or lounging around - they were all working hard. The other nice part was that they staffed enough folks to get the job done quickly - they were 2-3 days under all of the other estimates, and were able to complete their work on time - which is a fantastic thing when you have members of the family that work out of the home! Everyone was professional, attentive to detail, and left our property neat and clean. We would certainly use Top Notch in the future - I give them a big thumbs up!

They were as quick as they said they would be. They showed up on time and did a quick, thorough job. We live in a high wind area and it has held up really well. It is a good crew, they were polite and professional. We were really pleased. They gave us a good, competitive price. They gave us references and their references checked out. They were a small outfit but they did really well.
