A crew of four installers arrived at 9 AM promptly on time. The electrician started the wiring job for the new unit at our breaker box. Two installers worked on removing the oil unit while the fourth worker was helping the electrician and the other installers as needed. After they removed the old unit, they put the new pad in place and set up the new Carrier heat pump. It was a lot larger than I thought, but a packaged unit has the heat pump and the air handler as one unit. The only challenge that they faced was getting the wiring from the crawl space under the house to the thermostat in our dining room. Once that was done they tested the unit and we were good to go! The electrician did damage a vent and the ceiling from our heat pump on the east side of the house. AC Masters promised to fix it and the owner came by today to see what he needed to replace. I am very pleased with the installation, the professionalism of this company, and their service in general. Only time will tell how efficient and reliable this unit will be. Happy so far!

I have 2 systems that they check twice a year. They are prompt and courteous and do a nice job.

called them because wife had met owners in neighborhood. Another company had inspected the a/c and quoted several repairs. I was uncertain as to believe them because unit was doing a good job of cooling the house. The technician arrived on time and examined the unit. He, at my request explained what he was doing and provided some education on the system. He inspected some devices the other company had missed. He verified that the very minor leaks in two valves were real. However instead of replacing them at a huge cost fixed them with pipe dope. The unit is older and I plan to replace it in a few years with a higher efficiency unit.

Everyone I talked to was professional and friendly. I called and scheduled a troubleshooting/fix appointment and requested they call my office about 30 minutes out to confirm that no delays were occurring. The scheduler was very helpful, set up the appointment around my schedule. She called back exactly as promised and the repairman was EXACTLY on time (to the minute). He checked the system found out that one leg of the 240 was bad and gave me options on how to go forward. I followed his suggestions (very easy) and set-up a second appointment. There were still some intermittent electrical issues so, they sent over a master electrician to go over everything to make sure it was safe and operating correctly (AT NO COST). The repairman fixed the first issue (previous installation was incorrect) and checked the system. It worked fine initially but then failed again (I had seen this act before but the last two guys hadn't waited around long enough to see it fail and continue troubleshooting). He determined that the a/c motor was bad (the others thought it was bad but when it worked initially just wandered off). He found the part at about 50% of what the other two guys quoted and despite two poeple quoting the same issue, found the part at about 60% of what they quoted and headed out on a late Friday afternoon to try to get the part before the supplier closed. He got the motor but then it started raining. He called and asked if he could come over on Saturday morning to install it because he didn't like playing with electricity in the rain. As an old aircraft radar maintenance technician, I didn't want anyone playing with electricity in the rain at my house (I was worried about liability). He offered Saturday because he knew I was traveling on Monday and thought (correctly) that I would rather be there then dump it off on my wife. He came back on Saturday as promised, fixed the system, and then waited a while to make sure no new issues cropped up. Despite multiple visits by multiple senior technicians, I paid the flat rate of $375 for a motor replacement. I had become so frustrated at this recurring issue, I had gone through two other companies and then used in-window and portable air conditioners up stairs. I thought I was looking at potentially replacing the upstairs unit to the tune of $5000 or more and, over 3 days with two highly qualified and friendly people (plus their office staff). The problem was corrected for $375. I will continue to use AC Master is there are any heating/cooling issues and, I picked them, over some slicker ads, solely by the reviews on Angie's List. Arrived promptly and got the job done.

System contracted on 29 Jun with install on 5 Jul. Crew of 5 or 6 arrived on schedule at 08:00 in 3 trucks. Before starting, they prepped the house with carpet protectors. They also had to disconnect my attic stairs so that they could fit the new attic unit through the too small opening. Removal of old unit occurred without further problem. The full crew stayed until the old unit was removed and the new pieces were delivered to their installation location, then all but 3 departed. The 3 remaining crew worked until around 5 PM installing the new unit. Special kudos to them as the 5th was very hot and humid and the temperature in my attic was 127 degrees. The system works perfectly, is very quiet and handles the heat without strain. As it's a 2-stage unit, I'm anxious to see how it affects my Summer time electric bill. Upon completion, they cleaned up and explained the operation of the system. We finished by reviewing and completing the paperwork. I was particularly impressed that all of the paperwork was neatly filled out except for those portions requiring my direct input or signature. Everything was marked so that it was clear what needed to be done/signed/filled, they had the Carrier Cool-cash refund paperwork pre-filled, the Dominion Power rebate pre-filled, and the paperwork for me for tax time next year, making things simple for me. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Javier and the A/C Masters team did a great job. They were prompt, friendly, neat, attentive and their attention to detail was notable. I hate to have to spend that much money for something I already own, but they made it as painless as possible. I highly recommend A/C Masters.

Exceptional service. Hottest time of the year, so we called several companies and this was the only one that could get someone there today. He showed up when he said he would and fixed the AC in a short time. Price was reasonable and service was great.

Routine inspection. I've been with this company for over 10 years and have never been disappointed!

My wife thought that one of our air conditioner units was not cooling as effectively. I noticed that the compressor unit continued to run, but the cooling for the unit was not effective, and the temperature in the house kept rising. It was a Saturday night, so I got onto Angie's list and made note of a couple places which said that they had emergency service. I began calling on Sunday morning to find out that a couple companies who had advertised emergency service don't actually provide any service on Sunday, only after-hours on regular work days. Of course the temperature had turned up outside, and it was going into the 90's that day. I called A/C Masters and spoke with a very professional woman who took my name, address, contact information and told me that CJ would be contacting me shortly to discuss the problem. 30 minutes later CJ called me, asked the nature of the problem and told me that it would be about an hour for him to get to my location. I agreed that was great and CJ and I hung up. CJ showed up within the hour. He was professionally dressed, triaged the electrical component immediately as he was checking the refrigerant he went to his truck to see if he had the requisite replacement part. He did have the part and he replaced the part, checked the refrigerant on both of our air conditioning units, and got us up and running within an hour of arriving. I asked CJ about maintenance agreements with A/C Masters and CJ had the information and forms right on his truck. There was no hard sell on the maintenance service whatsoever. I have subsequently signed up for the preventative maintenance service contract given the professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous service of CJ and A/C Masters. I will definitely recommend them and will use them in future. Given my issue happened on a Sunday morning, CJ was pleasant, informed, and professional. GREAT SERVICE!!

We had a service agreement with them for 2 years. Initially the service was good. But our upstairs unit has needed repair several times and the repair never holds. We feel we have spent a lot of money on the yearly contract as well as the additional continual problems with the upstairs unit. We also had several other significant problems. And even though we complained about the problems, no one contacted us to rectify them. We finally sent a letter detailing the issues we had and they basically said we were incorrect and there were no problems.

Air system was diagnosed by a competitor, who had managed the system for 3 years, as failing and had a freon leak. System was 16 years old. Began checking Angie's list, Manufacturer's web site, and the former company who had managed the system. Former service offered other brand at over 2x cost. Getting a quote from service provider on same manufacturer was difficult at best. They would not provide what I asked for! Called other providers, all seemed similar in cost. Called A/C Masters (on manufacturers web site), within a day, rep for the company arrived with details on system. A complete needs analysis was done by Rick. These are not guys just operating out of their van. Pricing was the most competitive out of 4 quotations and even better with the mention of being an Angie's list member. Date set for install with a deposit. Unfortunately, a new date had to be set as A/C Masters had a crew scheduling issue. They called 2 days before scheduled date and apologized for the snafu. Rescheduled. Technicians showed up on time with all equipment. Drop cloths were used to protect the floors etc. Install was painless, and the Technicians walked me through the process, the equipment and the operation of same. No unexpected costs or surprises. System operation was checked by the technicians prior to departure. All warranty info explained clearly etc.

A/C Masters, inc. was always on time, clean and very professional. I called two times after the work was done for minor problems. Kris called me back, came right out and took care of everything. His attention to detail and professionalism is very appreciated. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing heating and A/C work.

The installation was prompt and professional. Six months later they had to return several times to trouble shoot for a 3 amp fuze that would blow and shut off the system. The first time the tech replaced the fuze the system worked for two weeks and then the fuze blew. There were no fault codes to indicate what was causing the problem. The tech replace the most likely component and the system worked for two days and fuze blew again. The third time the tech spend several hours trouble shooting the system and finally determined a heat strip controller on one of the boards was causing the problem. The techs all responded to our calls the same day and were very professional. The system was under warranty so there were no charges for the repairs.

My house is served by two heat pumps (dual zone), one of which stopped working in late October. After limping along for a couple of weeks we called A/C Masters. They came out the same day (only about 90 minutes after my call) for an evaluation, which showed a stopped valve. That required a Freon pump out / disposal / replacement (which was the bulk of the expense) and a replacement valve. I can't evaluate the price, because I didn't shop around, but it did seem fair. The valve took a day or two to get. The technician was fantastic and worked till dark to complete the job. A+, definitely would use them again.

A/C Masters responded promptly to the initial call and made follow up calls to keep us informed of the technician's estimated arrival time. When the technician arrived (as scheduled) he was courteous and professional and quickly identified the problem. Needed repairs were thoroughly explained and the work was completed in good order. We were very pleased with the overall experience. We would use A/C Masters again and have highly recommended them to others.,

The technician that came out to solve my heater problems was extremely intelligent and personable. I quite frankly did not know there were any people like this left in the world. He was patient and explained everything in detail to me. I will definitely be contacting this company again for future needs and will also tell my friends. This is a really GREAT company.

I have two AC/Heatpump furnace systems in my home. The Carrier gas furnaces are about 18 years old, the AC units are 2 year old Carrier Heat Pump/AC units. One of the units was not working properly. The furnace was not allowing the heat pump to operate even though the temperature was in the high 50's. Called AC Masters Inc. based on Angies List report. Appointment was arranged for three days later. Two service men arrived exactly on time. They put on shoe covers when they were in the house to protect the floors. My wife and I appreciated this touch of class. John and his assistant (?) went to work examining and servicing both heatpump furnace units. It was determined that one furnace required a new circuit board that had to be ordered. I heard nothing from John for several days, so on a Saturday I called AC Masters and left a message on their answering service. Within an hour, I got a call from a man who I guess was on weekend duty and he promised to contact John on the following Monday. In the meantime this man offered to come out to our house if we felt that something else needed to be done right away. We felt that this was not necessary,but appreciated the attention. On Monday we learned that the part had been received and a day or so later Kris showed up, installed the board and saw that everything was running properly. Kris also took some additional time to show me in detail how to program the new thermostats. This is something the original installer never bothered to do. We were so impressed that we signed up to a years service agreement.

They were not cheap, but they were very good, so I was pleased with them. They seemed to be very thorough and meticulous.

I called them when my furnace emitted a loud schreeching sound when I turned it on the first time this Fall. They took my information, and said they would call back after checking with a service person that was out in my area. They called back within 15 minutes and indicated when the service person would be arriving. He arrived a few minutes before I expected. THe service individual was professional, and quickly discovered the problem. Even though I hadn't purchased the package unit (Carrier combo A/C and gas furnace), they checked on the status of the warranty, and indicated that it was still covered. Normally Carrier requires that the installer do repairs, but, since I had Bettty's install it 5 years ago, A/C Masters was allowed to do the repair. We arranged to have him come back the next day to do the repair - he did it quickly and verified that everything was working before leaving. They took care of all the warranty paperwork, and, there was no charge. I highly recommend them.

A/C Masters gave us the most for our money among the other 7 quotes that we had (including the other top guys for our area on Angie's List). They were really professional, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves nicely. They also took care of rebate and warranty paperwork for us. I would definitely use them again for our HVAC needs. One of the best contractors my wife and I have ever hired.
