Root Electric

They are great. Took them about 6 hours to do what was needed. 2 people. Redid the electrical in our basement. No issues.

Called the provider to schedule an appointment and spoke directly with the owner. The crew showed up within the expected time window & performed quality work that passed county inspection the first time. I couldn't ask for more! These guys are real professionals. I probably paid a little more than I would have if I did some comparison shopping, but the value for the money and the peace-of-mind I bought was right for the job.

I cannot begin to express how happy I am with our experience with Root Electric. We were experiencing a problem where power was going off only in our family room. We called Root Electric, and Mr. Root came out personally in less than an hour after calling. He fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. He was very professional and extremely friendly. We will definitely be using Root Electric for any future electrical needs and will highly recommend him to friends and family.

I dealt specifically with Bill Root. He walked me through the problem, which was an electrical interruption of my security system and the issue was with the GFI switch. He said he could come out, but he could walk me through the process over the phone, helped me to resolve it, and I did not have to pay to have him come out.

We met with several vendors for this type of work. Root Electric was the only company who took the time to answer all of our questions and to explain in detail what type of work that was involved in. Although their estimate was higher in cost, their proposal was the most thorough and we knew exactly what we were paying for and the work involved. The two-man team came out at the scheduled time and took care of the electrical upgrade relatively quickly. They were very friendly, communicative and the quality of work was excellent. I would not hesitate to use this company again for future electrical work. Highly recommend!

Bill Root came out soon after we contacted him and gave us an estimate for the work. He consulted with us for an appointment that fit our schedule. His two-man team came out at the scheduled time and performed the work promptly. They had to cut a small hole (about 4" x 6") in our drywall, but left the cutout so our handyman could easily repair the drywall. They cleaned up after themselves and left. I would highly recommend Root Electric.

They were great. They showed up on time and were personable. They showed me ways to save money and I felt that they had my best interest in mind. It was a good experience.

Mr. Root was very responsive to my email. His workers showed up on time and repaired the issues. This was the second time we used Root, and we would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Everything went fine and quickly. The work was well done. The only issue was that we had set up the appointment for 12/29, and the workman showed up on 12/22 (at the correct time)! Fortunately, my husband was home.

I called Mr. Root because I thought an electrical outlet in my house was "dead." He said: "I think I might be able to save you the cost of a home visit." Then, without making me feel like a dolt, he politely suggested that I check to see if a wall switch controlling the outlet was turned off. Of course, he was right. He refused to take money for his advice. Amazing.

The crew thought they would have to work two half days to get the work done, but they asked if it would be OK if they worked late and got it all done in one day (there was a storm expected the next day). Once they got the OK, they divided and conqured the items. While one was working in the kitchen, the other one was working outside and upstairs. The kitchen had the most work to be done, so when the other items were completed, they both finished up the kitchen together - including cleaning up after themselves. I knew that they would have to make holes in the ceiling, but it turned out they only made two relatively small holes and reattached the pieces they cut out, so that the work would be easier for the paint crew I have coming. They did a great job, worked very quickly, solved problems they ran into (especially the lights in the fan) and made suggestions on the recessed lighting placement that was in line with were I thought the most light was needed. The kitchen looks great and everything works perfectly.

I had a circuit breaker trip and it would not reset...I called Root Electric to have them come out (day before Thanksgiving)...Mr. Root called me back within minutes and explained how the circuit may not immediately reset due to a few possibilities...at his suggestion and after a few minutes of us talking on the phone, I was able to reset the breaker. Mr. Root provided fantastic customer service staying on the phone and problem-solving the issue...ALL AT NOT COST...thank you Mr. Root for taking time out of your morning to work the problem on the phone.

I called Root Electric based on a recommendation from a co-worker. Root responded to my email with a $195 estimate over the phone; with the caveat that if it was some thing major, it would be more; which is fair. They came 15 min. early; but waited patiently for me to get home at the scheduled time. I explained the issue; they went to the breaker box and reviewed the wiring in the exposed basement ceiling to trace back the effected area of the house (5 min.); isolated a loose wire in a light fixture in the basement, pulled the fixture and rewired it tight (5 min.). Check and determined that was the problem. Since they finished so quickly I had them review a few switches I had incorrectly configured rather than go through all possible combinations (a 3-way dimmer and a 4-way light switch). They were able to quickly reconfigure the dimmer to get full functionality and replaced the faulty 4-way switch (for $2.50, which was cheaper than the new Lowes switch (10 min.). They were very polite, and helpful; and made no attempt to upsell me beyond the issues I brought up to them. The charge was $195 as estimated for the service call; and $2.50 for the new switch. All within 25 min. By comparison: While I would have been pleased with Root's price and service anyway; I was especially please since I had called Appleton & Campbell the week before for the same issue based on the previous owner having a service contract with them. They refused to give me an estimate over the phone; and indicate they charged $50 for a service call, then they would give me an estimate upon arrival, and if I purchased their services the $50 would be applied to the invoiced amount. Well, the tech was 1/2 hour late to his 2 hour window; and I couldn't even explain my issue before he started telling me that the problem could be anything based on the age of the house (he knew I was a brand new owner of the home); and he couldn't possibly give me the free estimate, it would take a detailed analysis to figure it out. Based on his demeanor, and that he was late and I had an appointment; I told him to write up his estimate and I would consider it. 15 min later, I got an estimate for $148 to do the "free" estimate, and $49 for the service fee (he didn't take it off the bill), and estimate for remarking my breaker box panel for $340, installing all new switches and plugs in house because they are 20 years old for $3237. As I was very late to get on a conference call at that point, I paid the $49 service fee which he took forever to process, and called Root Electric the next day. For the same price ~$200; I would have received an estimate of what Root charged me to actually perform the work.

An electrician with less integrity could have made a fast buck and come out and fix the problem. We used Root Electric previously for some work in our dining room. They're a top-notch company with good old fashioned values, not easy to find these days!

It was a very large job and they preformed really well I was very impressed. They were one for three service providers who came out and gave us an estimate and I felt the most comfortable with them and how efficient they were we are definitely going to use them again in the spring.

Root Electric [Mr. Bill Root] was prompt in responding to my initial phone inquiry. The work was scheduled, the electricians arrived within the time frame agreed upon, and the work was completed most satisfactorily. The electricians were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. We would definitely use this company again.

The 2 electricians arrived within the time window, introduced themselves and immediatly started to diagnose the problem.I was amazed to watch them methodically checking everything after I gave a short discription of the problem. In about 15-20 minutes they found the problem, fixed it and were done in 35 minutes. I have had electrical work done many times but always through other contract work. This was the first time I've ever personally called for one. I would now consider ROOT ELECTRIC, to be my electricians to go to.

Such a wonderful experience from first phone call to finish, I almost wish I had more electric work to be done! Root Electric sets the standard for customer service and for value. Prompt, polite, knowledgable, well-trained people, Casey & Andrew were as neat as could be but they vacuumed up anyway! I am so happy with this company and give them my highest recommendation. They were very nice and accomodating.

I found them from a referral and not from Angie’s List. They were excellent. The cost was reasonable and was running in line with others. It was definitely a fair price. The company is run by husband and wife and now their son has joined. The son and another young man came to my house and gave me an estimate. Then they came and did the work and they did very good work. They worked with covers on their shoes so that they won’t get the house dirty. They cleaned off any mess that they made. They were polite and cheerful. They were right on time.

Absolutely wonderful! Bill Root, the company's owner, made the repairs. His staff was courteous and understanding when I called with my crisis of our office being without power. Bill came out a couple of hours later, determined the problem and fixed everything. In fact, I thought about the fixture in the storage area after making the service call, and he happily provided the fixture and installed it, even though this was not part of the original issue I needed fixed. He is a pro and certainly one of the nicest people I have ever done business with. Root Electric will be my go to company from now on!

The guys were supposed to come between 9am and 9:30am, however, they arrived before 9am and got right to work. They even fixed my door bell. They were great. they were friendly and professional. I would use them again.
