Description of Work: I first called and spoke to Mr. Root. He gave me some insight into buying the outdoor light fixtures I wanted installed at the front door, back door and garage. There was no need for access inside the home so I didn't need to take time off work. When I got home the lights were up and worked. There were a few issues....1) there was a light above the garage door which I wanted removed completely and the hole covered. The electrician covered the hole with an electrical box that I typically see fitting inside the wall. It looked horrible....big and silver, sticking out about 1.5" from the garage. 2) the light at the back door worked but it also looked horrible. It wasn't at all flush with the side of the house. I called Mr. Root and he asked me to send him a few photos of my issues. He sent someone the next day and now it all looks really nice.

Description of Work: Complete replacement of electrical panel, new surge protector, all grounded to newer standards. Complete assessment of house and replacement/upgrade of multiple switches and outlets, several to accommodate LED dimmers. Also, incorporated a designated circuit for an electric outdoor grill. Very pleased with explanations of how the work would be carried out and what exactly had to be done. Final work completed exactly as promised and with great efficiency. Although their bid was higher in cost, we chose this provider due to Mr. Root's excellent explanation of what the work would entail including one small drywall cut and his suggestions for modern upgrades on dimmers. The electricians cleverly installed the new outdoor outlet to avoid any additional holes. And now we can use the dryer without throwing the circuit!

Description of Work: Root Electric replaced our breaker box and upgraded our kitchen electric for a renovation. Their customer service is excellent. The work was done on time and within our agreed upon price. They were great about doing a couple of extra things for me that were not in our agreement, at a reasonable extra cost. I will call them again if I need anything in the future.

Description of Work: Whole house surge protector and installed an exterior RV 50 amp outlet for my motorhome to plug into. Excellent, friendly estimate experience plus installation job was great. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: GFI outlet kept tripping on enclosed porch and deck. They discovered problem - and replaced outlet & culprit light switch and installed a fan control switch inside. Very nice and professional. Very good sleuthing job to find the problem.

Description of Work: Good news: You're smart enough to not do the electrical work yourself. | |Bad news: You're not doing the electrical work yourself and you're paying a pro to do it. I got three estimates, Root and another were about the same price, the other was lower. So I discounted the lower, because sometimes you get what you pay for. That left Root and Other Guy. | |I'll be honest, the Root estimator spoke English as a primary language, and that was my deciding factor. To my joyful surprise, all the Root staff spoke English as a primary language too. Based on past negative experiences with other contractors due to language barriers, it's a welcome relief to be able to hear every conversation in English. | |The work was good and I haven't had any problems since.
