Overall experience went very well. William Root was very helpful and professional in providing us with initial estimate and provided excellent suggestions on where they should be installed. The two person team was punctual on the scheduled day of work, very friendly, and knowledgeble. Bill Root also made other good suggestions on where lighting and switching should be configured.

Root Electric was extremely professional and they took the time to explain to us about the work that they were going to do, provided us with a fair estimate, and came in under budget. They showed up on time on all three days and explained what was going on every step of the way. They found ways to save us money while making sure that the work was done properly and safe. They knew that we had a bad experience with another "electrician" and all the people working with Root Electric made us feel comfortable and safe. They corrected all the outstanding issues in our home's electric system that had occured over decades of improper treatment by the previous owners and inadequate contractors. Since our house has a mixture of copper and aluminum wiring, their expertise was essential in properly correcting all of the issues. For the past year since we bought our house we have agonized over the issues in our electric system. Since Root Electric completed the work, we now feel safe in our home. Thank you Root Electric!

The whole experience with Root Electric was wonderful. They were pleasant and responsive on the phone and when they came to do the work. The job was done well and quickly, and I'm planning to have them back out to do some additional work.

We started the process through e-mail as we were not in-town at that time. The price was several hundred dollars below the other estimates yet the materials and quality were first rate. Discount was given for summer special (10% on the panel install). People were very friendly and helpful including through the county inspection. It was a great experience and we plan to use them again.

It was a great experience. Bill Jr. stopped by to give us the quote and was very professional. Several days later we needed emergency repair and we called Bill Jr. and he arrived soon after, completed the repairs, showed us what was done. Later we accepted the bid and Bill Sr. came to perform the work with Tyler. They arrived on time and worked throughout the day rewiring the panel and installing the outlets and fans. They were very professional and very nice to our two little children when they were bothering them. The work was top notch and we would certainly use Root Electric again.

I originally called Root Electric because of smoke alarms chirping. They were going to possibly change some smoke alarms and take out our old dining room chandelier and replace it with our new one. In the time between phone calls and date to come out we discovered that our carbon monoxide detector needed a new battery and once replaced, all the chirping stopped. They still came out and took a look at the smoke alarms and found no problems. ( Mr. Root Sr. was the actual person who came out to the house.) A dropcloth was placed to cover our wood floor. Mr. Root actually kept up a very pleasant conversation with me and my very curious six-year old all while installing our chandelier. He cleaned up afterwards. My angie's list coupon was accepted. The whole experience was very positive and I would call Root Electric again. There were also some phone calls made back and forth prior to the date of work and my calls were always returned even if it was just to confirm information that I left with the office staff. They were all so nice, very considerate and responsive. Loved them!

It was great experience overall. I contacted them by email and received a prompt response. Bill came out and took a look and the job and provided several suggestions along the way. After providing the initial estimate, Bill was very patient as I made changes to the scope of the work and weighed a couple of lighting options. Once we decided on the job, Root was able to meet my tight timeline by performing the installation less than a week later. The final product was well done and fully met my expectations.

I emailed on their web site asking for an estimate to get 2 outside outlets and 1 pull-chain light installed in a crawlspace, the owner called me the next day (from Pennsylvania while he was on vacation!), did an estimate later that week and got the work done in less time than estimated. The estimator and installer both were very professional, polite, and highly competent. The installer did suggest a way to route a line that minimized the need to cut drywall. The installer confirmed his suggestion with the estimator, and consulted with me before he used the different routing method. He also installed a pull-chain light fixture with a plug built into it so that now I also have an outlet in the crawlspace (very convenient!). The installer completed the job in less time that estimated and I am very satisfied with the work. Both the estimator and installer were perfectly comfortable with my big dog and were careful of my escape-artist cat! I will use the company again and recommend them to family and friends.

Our attic fan had been wired to a light switch in the hallway making it a waste because the light had to be on for the fan to work. Root Electric gave me a price quote over the phone and said the job should be about an 1hr. Thier tech showed up on time and on one of the hotest days of the month. Needless to say the homeowners before us had installed evreything wrong and the rewiring took a little more work and 2 hours. Good news was Root stuck to the price they quoted and gave me $20 off for going thru Angie's list! Great company will most likely use them again to replace out electrical panel in the future.

Called to schedule work - company very responsive and scheduled work for the following Friday at 9am. Tyler (our electrician) arrived exactly at 9am. He was very pleasant, personable and worked very efficiently and neatly. Explained everything well. He even vacuumed the carpet when he was finished installing the ceiling fan! We are so happy with his work - we definitely plan to call Root Electric again for future projects.

They are wonderful and very professional. They are so easy to work with. They do the estimates and they do the job. They are very courteous and very efficient. They get the work done in the exact time they say. Their prices are always right on. They are very reasonable.

Root Electric responded to me evening email inquiry the next day by phone. I was left a message with two contact phone numbers in case I returned home from work after their office hours. As this was the case, I called the after hours number and reached the owner, Mr. William Root. From the get-go, he was personable and service oriented. He asked questions so that he could give me an accurate estimate, which was also the final price. Bill Root (William's father) called when he was about thirty minutes from arriving (I was given a two hour window). Bill Root and Tyler, an apprentice arrived on time and were equally friendly. Throughout the process Bill and Tyler were incredibly respectful of my home. These two gentlemen took the time to make sure that I was happy with every aspect of the installation. They were also very neat and took the time to put out trash assoiated with this installation and removal. These guys made me feel secure and safe with a electrical installation about which I had no knowledge. Mr. William Root treated me like a valued customer from my first 'cold call' to final scheduling. The price was fair and the work superior. I look forward to being on the Root Electric client list. I highly recommend Root Electric. Frankly, the overal experience left me with that Andy Griffith's Mayberry kind of feeling, we're all neighbors and we want to take care of our neighbors and our community.

I had two outdoor light fixtures that had been installed by a handyman, and the lightbulbs were burning out very quickly (less than two weeks). I was concerned there was something wrong with the wiring and I wanted them to come out and take a look. I spoke to their representative on the phone, and, rather than just scheduling an appointment, he had several suggestions of things I could easily check/fix on my own and avoid the charge for the service call. One of his suggestions worked, and the latest set of lightbulbs has lasted for a month now. Root Electric could have earned an easy fee, but they took the high road instead. Next time I need electrical work done, I will call them first.

It is a father-son team that came out and the visit went very well. Everything was very pleasant.

All told, they got both jobs done within a week of my contacting them. They were extremely professional and polite. We would definitely use them again or recommend them to friends/family.

Awesome! I made calls to a handful of calls to electical service companies on the list; but unfortunately many were unable to provide immediate service. Bill Root diagnosed my issue over the phone and I scheduled an appointment for the next morning to resolve the issue. Utilizing Mr. Root's suggestions I was able to do my own trouble shooting and fix the problem. Root Electric's knowledge and customer service resolved my issue immediately. In doing so, they saved me a service call and fee. I highly recommend their services.

Overall the experience was excellent. On Monday morning I called Root Electric and left a message to get a call back to see if they addressed the problem I had identified. On Tuesday afternoon, Bill Root called me back and he suggested that the best approach would most probably be to replace the smoke detector as it was more than 5 years old. We set up an appointment for 9:30AM on Friday morning. Andrew arrived promptly and was very professional and helpful. Ultimately after some discussion, he replaced 4 of the six smoke detectors in my house (he had brought 4 with him). I'm confident if I had said I had 6 in the house (I didn't have that data when talking to Bill) they would have brought 6. All 4 were changed promptly and Andrew was done in under an hour. [He also helped me reattach one of my carbon monoxide detectors.] Andrew also suggested a place to buy the additional 2 detectors so that I could replace them (I actually went to Amazon.com while he was here.] The bill was just what I expected in terms of the charge for the first hour. I would absolutely recommend Root Electric and will plan to use them again (if I need to).

William Root is a MASTER! He came in, and instead of building a new utility closet as was recommended, he came up with a creating a false wall in the existing space after checking with the inspector. It was a very creative solution that saved time, effort and money. From what I understand, in his past life, he was an electrician at a nuclear power plant, so his expertise is unquestionable.

Working with Root Electric is a pleasure. The company provides free estimates and solid advice about lighting choices. The installation team was friendly, professional, and informative. We plan to install pendant lights in the future, and Bill Root gave us both a free estimate and useful tips about the kind of lights to purchase and where to place them in our kitchen. The sconce installation was a two-step process, the second step being relatively minor to all the other work we had done. Still, Root treated this step with the same professionalism as the bigger job. To me, this is the sign of a top-notch company.
