Root Electric

I initially had problems scheduling an appointment and I found out later it had to do with their answering service. However, I was persistent and kept calling because of the reviews I read on Angie's List. My husband and I are very happy with the service we received. Excellent! Mr. Root , his son and Tyler are very personable.

It was a very professional job. He showed up on time and called me when he was on his way. It took him like only 5 minutes to do the job. I was really satisfied. He was really professional. He answered some question for me on other electrical things. He knows what he is doing.

Everything was fantastic. Highly, highly recommended.

It is a small family operation. The father is the main electrician and he has a trainee with him. He is very experienced and I had a good time while he was working here in the house. His son is sort of a business guy. He is very responsive and on top of things as well.

We were very impressed that the company even made suggestions that may have fixed the problem (out of all the electrician's we called they were the only ones that tried help us without a service visit). If the suggestions would have worked for us this would definitely taken money from the company. But for us (the customer) we kept this in mind so when we need assistance again, whether remodeling or something to what we just experienced, Root Electric will be the first company we approach. The technician showed up promptly and was VERY professional. He had our problem resolved within an hour and I can happily report that we are now back to using our family room. Thank you Root Electric for a very wonderful experience during a trying time for us.

The job went very well. He was very knowledgeable and dependable. He did a very thorough and good job.

If every business were like Root Electric, we wouldn't need Angie's list. This small family-run business is terrific from start to finish. Bill Root, Jr., came to my house and provided me a detailed estimate. He was very respectful and polite, and made sure that I didn't purchase anything that I didn't need. Bill Root, Sr. and their employee Tyler, showed up on time. They did the work perfectly. For instance, before they ran the wire, they carefully figured out how to avoid drilling more holes than was absolutely necessary. Everything was installed very neatly. They protected my floors and cleaned everything up afterward. On top of that, they are extremely kind and decent, and go out of their way to help you. Mr. Root figured out the best place to put cable in my strangely-configured living room. He cleaned up dust unrelated to the electrical work. He also gave me references for other work that I need in my house. They take pride in their work and care a lot about their customers. What a great find -- thank you Angie's list!

One of the company representatives showed few minutes before the time. He was pleasant, ready to do his work and highly professional. He asked the right kind of questions, and worked logically to figure out the issue. In addition, he worked hard and honest to figure out the right solution despite the fact that there was always an ?easy? option of re-wiring which would add additional $$ and time. After a while, it turned out that the problem was fairly straightforward and did not need any additional re-wiring. We were very pleased with the service, punctuality and care for customer and finding the right solution. If we have any other issues, we will call them back.

I called the office and was told Mr. Root would call me back, which he did about 30 min later. I told him what my problem was and he told me I should call the power company since he thought the problem came from them. He also told me to call him back for the result. I did so and he was right! I called him back to tell him. I will use Root Electric in the future and recommend to friends because I felt Mr. Root could have charged me a visit and time "looking" for the problem....but he didn't.

We have many projects estimated with Root that started in December and we are still adding on! Our home is a 1974 contemporary. The home was built without any ceiling lighting so without lamps we had no lighting. Our first project started with installing many (11) recessed cans and accent lighting in our living room. That continued to add accent lighting in the dining room. Then on to the kitchen to add under mount lighting. Our first floor is fantastic! All the lighting is on ?dimmers? that really gives our home the look we were going for. We also had all the lighting installed be lighting efficient using a LED fixture and bulb. After the first floor was completed we moved to the master bedroom, closet, and bath. Again, we did more recessed cans, mounted bedside lighting, and accent lighting. In addition we are in the process of having the closet re-organized. The lighting is endless with Root. Our closet will have new lighting, toe kick lighting, plugs, and even lighting that turns on when you open the door! I can not say enough about all the folks at Root. Bill Root, is quick to come out and complete an estimate and answer any questions that you might have. Tyler has been our main go to person for the installation and is pleasant and efficient. I was pretty picky about how I wanted the recessed cans to look, lay out, and lined up. He would always say, ?sure we can do that or whatever you want?. What more can you ask for. I would highly recommend them!

Root gave us a great estimate and worked with us on our budget and priorities. They were fantastic during the work process. Clean, courteous, and concerned about things they found in our home - like switches that were burnt out, or breakers that were under or over valued for the load. During the work we actually found ways to cut some costs because they were flexible and creative in the solution (and not cutting corners, but in minimizing cuts in walls and cords to run for example). They also did some on site things that were not in the estimate but made our system more stable and efficient. We actually spent less then the estimate! My only concern was there was really only one guy on the project and while he finished everything it got tight on time. Overall - I'd call them back in a heartbeat!!

I could not have been more pleased with the work and service. They were here when they said they would be, properly diagnosed the issue, charged me appropriately compared to their phone estimate, and completed the work promptly. I strongly recommend Root Electric.

From the first contact with Bill Root to the actual work completed by Tyler, one of the best experiences my spouse and I have had in getting work done on our house. I contacted Bill to discuss getting the microwave installed and based on his questions on amps, circuits and other electrical terms related to the type of microwave it was obvious that he is a well-versed electrician. He was very professional when he showed up for the initial visit to scope out the work. He was very clear on the pros and cons of what solutions would work and which would cause problems down the road. That is, using the existing circuit or adding a new 20 amp circuit. Using the existing circuit would have been a drain and with the new microwave with convection oven, the existing circuit would not work. The estimate he provided outlined the four tasks requested and the cost was also clearly listed. I had a few additional questions about placement and he responded promptly with clarification. The work was scheduled for 13 January and Tyler showed up on time, introduced himself, provided suggestions on the best placement for the sensor light and install of the new light switch. The installation of the light switch was done with no damage to the dry wall. Bill Root called to ensure the work was going well and if we had any concerns or questions about the installation. Tyler was efficient and quickly got the work done. For the trouble shooting of the elelctiricty to the shed, Tyler found a tripped GFI that we had not located and quickly solved the problem. He did not charge for that even though he would have been within the contract to include that amount. We plan to use them for any future work we need.

The work provided by Root was outstanding. The lighting in my house is absolutely beautiful. I have recessed lighting in the living room. Track lighting was placed conveniently where I can change the bulbs near the stairwell. The dining area had a chandelier but the fixture was off center; Root corrected that for me too. The kitchen has less lights but the lights are of better quality, provide more light and look great too. I don't have light bulbs burning out anymore. Tyler, Bill and Bill Sr., were great to work with. I felt taken care of but not taken advantage of by Root's employees. Root Electric is a company were it's employees have excellent work ethics and are very professional.

I was working under a deadline to get the work done. Bill Root was very accommodating to my schedule. In addition, it was very reassuring to work with someone who is both polite and very professional at all times. There was never a time when I did not feel I was being treated with respect. The work was performed competently and efficiently. When the hours required came in below the estimate, the bill was adjusted accordingly. I had complete confidence in the service that was provided.

I had contacted a couple of electricians who either never called me back or failed to show to give an estimate. Not only did Root Electric return my call the same day, they scheduled a day to provide an estimate at my convenience. Their estimate provided options to allow me to decide what I wanted to do within my budget. The electricians showed up ON TIME, completed the work at the time they predicted on the estimate and CLEANED up after their work. The electricians were friendly and checked with me periodically to make sure I liked what they doing. The lights look fantastic, the quality of their work is outstanding. When the frequency of one ceiling fan interfered with the other, they came back free of charge to troubleshoot. I would definitely use their services again!

Based on a recommendation from a friend who had similar work done, arranged estimate with Bill Root Jr. He was very pleasant and helpful to work with. He gave me good ideas about light placement with accenting our cabinetry. He wrote up a detailed proposal and he was right in the ballpark for the cost to do the work. Their schedule was pretty busy, so it was about 2.5 weeks out to get a date. Bill Root Sr. came out with one of his other electricians and they were very efficient and also extremely nice to talk/work with. They left practically no big holes to patch up and the drywall contractor was impressed with the clean job they did.

The first trip, Tyler installed a fan for me and fixed an electrical outlet, and then he discovered that the building required commercial grade wiring, so we had to reschedule the light installation. I got a very profuse apology from Bill Root (owner) over the phone not even an hour later, which was very thoughtful, yet unnecessary because I think of that as unforeseeable issue. When Tyler came back to install the lights a couple of weeks later, he did an excellent job. The price is right as well: the reason my overall bill was so high was due to the cost of the wiring materials, but they charge about $125/hour which was very reasonable and they remember to honor their Angie's list discount! All in all, it was a great experience.

Smoothly. I had to change the date on them a couple of times, but they remained cheerful through the changes. The electrician was polite and professional. Work was completed to my satisfaction.

The original light was damaged during the winter storms and was replaced by a contractor doing other repair work to my home in April. That contractor came back once to try to get the light to work but was not successfull and further attempts to get any response from him over the next 4 months went unanswered ... very frustrating! With one call to Root Electric I got a quote, scheduled an appointment, and within a few days, the light was fixed. The electrician was prompt, polite, and professional. I've found an electrian I can trust, would definately use again, and feel confident about recommending to others.

Gave me a price over the phone for installing light fixtures and a chandelier. Set a date and time convenient for me when the team could be certain to arrive on time in my area. Team was prompt, professional and pleasant. Used drop cloths to protect a rug. Kept all trash together in one spot; did not leave any trash anywhere. Were quick and efficient; they clearly had a great deal of experience. Given their knowledge and the care they took, I plan to use their services again.

Root Electric did a great job on all my electrical work. They are professional in all aspects of their business. They were prompt in providing me an estimate for the work and then scheduling the work. On the first day of the job they called to let me know what time they would arrive.The work they did was more than I asked for and I couldn't be happier. Bill Root was even able to fit in installing 2 closet lights not in the original proposal. Not only is Root Electric professional but you won't find nicer people to have working in your home. I will not hesitate to call Root next time I need any electrical work.

Only one light worked in the kitchen. But now the Kitchen is prooperly wired and the load is distributed appropriately. We have plans for additional work and Root will be the company to help us.

It was a great experience! I have a new house and wanted additional lighting installed. I called Root Electric and was able to schedule an appointment quickly for Bill to visit my house and evaluate my needs. He assisted me in making decisions as to the best way to install the lighting. Bill e-mailed a quote to me shortly thereafter and advised the amount of time required to accomplish everything. The price was definitely competitive based on other quotes I had received. I scheduled the appointment a few weeks later. Bill and Tyler arrived on time, reviewed the projects with me and immediately started working. They were both very neat and cleaned up after they were done working in each area. Every item was completed as discussed and to my satisfaction. I would definitely hire Root Electric again for any other electrical needs I have.

The only issue with the entire install was scheduling, Root Electric was backed up and could only come out 2 weeks after I called. However, the electrician showed up on time and went immediately to work. The Panasonic fan was a lot bigger than the original fan so a lot of drywall cutting had to be done, which the electrician apologized for but I was unconcerned about, since the drywall has to get repaired anyway due to water penetration from the previous fan's inability to lower the humidity in the bathroom appropriately. He cleaned up very nicely (no drywall or insulation crumbs left on floor) and finished right on time. First rate job, and reasonably priced ot boot. Will definitely call them again in the future for any other large electrical projects.
