Root Electric

JOB WAS MORE COMPLICATED THAN FIRST APPEARED. HAD TO WORK ON POWER BOX IN THE BASEMENT AND WIRES IN THE ATTIC WHICH HAD BEEN IMPROPERLY INSTALLED IN ORDER TO FIX THE CEILING LIGHT/FAN AND ELECTRICAL OUTLET. GOOD JOB .

They were very good. I give them all a's. I would use them again in the future. We had an idea but they gave us a better idea. They were on time and efficient.

The overall experience was excellent.

What a great company. From the first phone call from the nicest man, to his sons professional work ethic to the young man who did the electrical work I couldn't have been happier to hire Root electric. They are very responsive, trustworthy and easy to work with. I would hire them again in a minute for any work I need done on my house.

I called Root Electric on Thursday and received a call-back very quickly. I made an appointment for between 8:30 and 9:00 on Friday morning to have somebody come out and take a look at the problem, and the technician (the owner) arrived right on time. He asked me some questions; I showed him the rooms with the "out" outlets, and he went to work. He found the problem and fixed it in short order--naturally, the broken outlet was behind a sleeper sofa, which he had to move. Not only did he fix the outlets, he replaced all the outlet covers (which I had removed in an effort to figure out what was wrong). Within the hour, the problem was solved. The best thing about this experience (even better than having my outlets repaired) was that he was just the nicest guy. I would definitely use this company in the future, and I have already recommended them to a neighbor.

I was in Australia at the time, and I had an electrical problem at my house. My refrigerator shut off, and my neighbor contacted them for me. The electrician fixed a switch that wasn’t working. Subsequently, it went out, so he came back out to re-identify the problem. He found the issue, and we haven’t had any problems since. My neighbor, who is very particular, is going to use Root Electric from now on. She was very impressed!

Did an excellent job. I was unable to remove the hardwired cmoke detector, but he had the right tools to remoce it and replace it with a working smoke detector.

Bill set up an appointment with me Friday morning at 11. To my surprise, Andrew Root showed up as Bill was still tied up with an appointment. He was professional, prompt and courteous and even gave me helpful tips on how to prevent neighbors or others from using my outlet outside of my house. I am now a fan of Root Electric and would refer them to any of my friends as they give fast, efficient, professional work at a time I am available.Thanks Bill and Andrew!

This was the second time we used Root Electric. Bill came out to do an estimate. He was very polite and answered all our questions. He sent us the proposal via email within a couple of days, and we made our appointment. John, who handled our previous service call, performed all the work. He was very professional and courteous, and did an excellent job! He explained what he was doing with each item, answered questions, and made suggestions when we asked his opinion. We are extremely pleased with Root Electric! If you need an electrician, look no further.

Scheduded an appointment to take down a light in my staircase and move it to my dining room and install a new one and a ceillion medallion where the other was removed. It was in a awkward spot that required them to setup scalfholding in order to reach it. Everything went as planned and I'm very happy. They were on time, put down drops to protect my wood floors, and cleaned up after themselves. This is the second time I've used Root Electric and can't see myself hiring anyone else. They are very professional and leave you with a good feeling about hiring them.

I was happy with his work. The person we came out was not Mr. Root, but a young employee who was wonderful. He was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and I was so impressed. When I had a question, I left a message on their answering maching. Mr. Root called me back almost immediately to see how he could help.

During that really cold spell in late December/early January our heat pump went out, so I hooked up a couple of space heaters in our family room and we just hundled in there. At some point I turned on the microwave oven in the kitchen and everything went out. I checked all of the circuit breakers downstairs a few times this did not seem to I sent an email to request an appointment through Angie's List. Bill Root called back everyday for at least 3 days trying to schedule an appointment with me. I was very busy with work and did not return his calls. Eventually, I got on the ball and we made an appointment within a couple of days. Bill showed up on time and spent about 30 minutes checking all of the outlets and the electrical box. Bill fixed the problem and everything has been working fine ever since.. The nicest thing is that Bill sat down to fill out the invoice and we had a good 15 to 20 minute chat about the goings on in PWC and who knows who, etc. It gave a real small town feel to the whole transaction.

LED canister lights installed by a contractor in our kitchen 6 months ago suddenly started to flicker. We thought it must be the dimmer switch and asked Root to check out the cause and replace the dimmer switch. Mr. Root himself called after I had left a message seeking an appointment; he carefully reviewed with me the problem we were experiencing, the type of lighting, how long the lights had been there, and other details. We made an appointment for two days later. The electrician arrived on time and looked at the problem before setting to work; installed a new dimmer switch but when that didn't solve the problem, he took a closer look at the LED units and discovered that they were not specified as being dimmable (I had been told they were). To confirm, he also checked the manufacturer's instructions I had. He concluded that under the circumstances a dimmer switch wasn't appropriate, and installed a non-dimming swithc instead. Since then we have had no problems. I have had this firm do electrical work before and always found them to be punctual, honest, thorough, and reasonable priced. Would use them again.

Root Electric is a class act. They came by to see what size ladder they would need for our 17' ceiling. They covered my new carpet and did the work with such ease. They finished in a short amount of time and made it look like child's play. That's why we hired a professional, and they certainly are professional. We love the fan/light.

Overall it was the best experience working with an electricial company I've ever had. I spoke on the phone with Mr. Root and explained that I had a variety of issues. Andrew was the electrician that came out. He arrived on time, got right to work and soon everything was resolved.

I can't say enough how pleased I was with Bill and Andrew. I rescheduled my original date to a new one, but I failed to note the different time on the new date. What happened was that Andrew showed up at the correct time in the morning, but I wasn't home because I thought he was coming that afternoon. Bill was kind enough to have Andrew come back that afternoon to perform the work, which Andrew did a great job. I will definitely have these guys do my electrical work in the future!

They are professional, personable, and helpful. They do what they say they are going to do and when they are going to do it. They are great.

Service was excellent, Andrew was very professional, quick and left the work site clean. He was also very willing to answer any questions that I had for him during the process. Also to note that he preformed the tasks while I was working from home and was very courteous not to make unnecessary noise during the process. I'm in the process of remodeling the rooms the fans were installed in and I was assured by Bill Root that as little modification (hole in the ceiling would be as little as possible). So I pre-painted the ceilings to get a nice clean look before the fan was installed. He was 100% correct the hole created was as close to the size of the installed mount as you could get. Bill Root, was very helpful in recommending both high quality fans and recommended switches for greater control of the fans/lights. He also pointed me to several brick and mouter establishments to look at fan models as well as some preferred online sites. His knowledge and recommendations were extremely helpful. Both of my rooms look GREAT! with these new overhead lights installed.

This was a great experience. Andrew is an affable, confident and knowledgeable electrician. He solved my blinking kitchen light trouble that I thought was a short in 5 minutes. He explained that the new compact florescent bulbs have transistors in them and they can be incompatible with certain sockets. Then, he confidently installed two pendant fixtures into old, very shallow recessed boxes that two handymen refused to do. Finally, we discussed my new LG washer. There were several expensive options but an extension cord works, especially since I am not sure I am going to keep this unit. He worked steadily and finished in approximately 45 minutes.

We asked Bill to give us a quote for two pendant lights in our kitchen and five recessed lights. He came on time for the quote, spent about an hour with us and was incredibly thorough in getting a sense of what we wanted for our kitchen. He took pictures of the space, explained the credentials of his staff, and the quote arrived right on time several days later. Of all the quotes we received, his was by far the best, not just in terms of price, but in terms of detail as well. Bill put together a schematic drawing of our kitchen and showed where each of the recessed lights would be placed. When we had a few follow-up questions he was incredibly responsive via email.On the day of the installation, his master electrician and apprentice arrived right on time. They completed the job quickly, neatly, and checked with my husband each time the plan had to be modified because of existing pipes and ductwork in our ceiling. We need some drywall repair to make things perfect and Bill provided a contact for that as well. We are VERY PICKY PEOPLE and incredibly happy with the work and professionalism of this company. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

Once in everyone's life, you'll find a service provider that makes you feel good about the money you've spent to hire them. In this case, while I've had that experience on a few occasions, calling Root Electric to install outlets in my basement ranks right up there with the other "few." At each turn of my experience with Root, from the initial phone call to the installation I was just thoroughly impressed with their "home grown" customer service and attention to detail.

Root Electric was prompt with calling back to schedule an estimate. They were professional and courteous when doing a walk-through to prepare their estimate. Their pricing was very competive.

Excellent work. During my initial call, the owner tried to help me troubleshoot the issue over the phone so I could save the cost of a service call... how many companies try to do that for you in this economy?!?!?! I'd obviously done a good job of messing up the circuit so we sheduled a same-day service call. John and Eric showed up on time and did a professional job of troubleshooting the entire system. We found the issue where I had expected. They adjusted my work and removed the grounding fault I had created and reinstalled the flood light. Super customer service and just plain nice people! They are now the only company I'll call for any electrical work, period!
