Root Electric

I waited two years to review. Root electric has been extremely professional, and fairly priced each time we've used them. (We have also had them back to install light fixtures, and additional exterior outlets since the first time they provided services). Their workmanship is first rate, and problem resolution is stress free. We will continue to use them in the future.

I am very happy with the project completed by Root Electric. When I first consulted Root I knew I needed to modernize and redisign the lighting throughout my home but other than knowing I wanted recessed lights I lacked vision for how to position them. Bill Root did a walk through and was able to make suggestions that ultimately gave the home a very modern and well-lit feel. I was impressed by the lighting design/layout that Root suggested and they were able to do all the work in one day. There was very little damage to the ceilings despite the extensive work that was required, and I have am very happy with the end result. I thought they were reasonably priced for the amount of work required. Bottom line: the work was scheduled quickly, the workmanship was excellent and I would highly recommend Root to address electrical needs.

The electrician was punctual, polite and professional. He did an a great job and the price was half of a previous quote I had received for the same job by another contractor! I would definitely call on them again and recommend them without hesitation!

Root is fantastic. They arranged all permits, team was professional and courteous. We"ve used then more than once for other small projects too. I highly recommend them.

They were great. They came out within the week to do the initial quote. They do free quotes and returned it to use promptly. From there we took a while to get back in touch with them on both our and there end. Once we called again no issues! they were out within the week to finish all the work. They arrived earlier and got the work done fast. The technician were both informative and professional. We did not get the full house rewire at this time, but they did provide us with many options to perform the rewire in various steps to break up the cost over the nest few years.

Great!! Hey came right before Christmas and installed a dimmer switch over the dining room table so that we could have the correct lighting for dinner.

Bryan and his team were on time, professional and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain what they were doing and the issues with each outlet. We have an older house so I asked if what we should think about for upgrading and other safely considerations. Bryan gave me good tips and advice. One of the outlets wasn't connected to the power anymore and needed some extra work (which we knew beforehand). They fixed the 3 outlets and then traced the issue with the fourth and got them all working again. They also replaced the outdoor light and fixed the lose wiring. I was extremely happy with the service and will be hiring Root Electric again after the new year for replacing a ceiling fan and installing a new light.

The installation of all 6 items went very smoothly. The electrician left the house neat and clean. This is the second time I have hired Root Electric. Both times the electrician was Brian Wilkerson.

Very good job. Root was selected by my favorite contractors (Sunshine Contracting Corp) to wire the sunroom and storage space they were building. I paid Root to add lights to my kitchen, and a motion detector at the front door. The electrician was helpful and made several suggestions which I took. He improved my design, and did a couple small things (labelled the breaker cabinet, swapped out a breaker) for free. When we had a lightning strike they replaced two GFIs under warranty.

Had a bit of trouble scheduling the work initially, but the owner left me his cell number and once I got a hold of him it all went smoothly. Prices were quoted up front and they were accurate. Technician actually arrived a bit early and was able to do the requested work as well as troubleshoot a ceiling fan. He was very pleasant, professional and cleaned up after himself. Appreciate the fact that this is a small, very responsive, family business.

Attic fan estimate and repair were very impressive. Good explanation of the job and was prompt, clean and thorough.

Didn't happen. Had prompt return call for more information. Took pictures and sent them via text. Was told would call to schedule and nothing more. I called their service and no return call. I texted them and asked if the job was too small and no answer. Very surprised after very good experience before

No work done as they have not returned my communication. Initial call returned and pictures were sent by the owner. They told me that they would call to schedule the service. I never heard back and I called their service and still never heard back.

Great! They came on time, did a good job, and left with no mess behind them. The two guys who came were very respectful and courteous.

Quick response time with sound advice and exceptional personal service. Obviously Root Electric is dedicated to customer service. We found them to be efficient, prompt, experienced, courteous and very professional.. I would not hesitate to recommend Root electric.

Fantastic from the first phone call, estimate, and completion. I had several questions before the work started and Root Electric was responsive and returned calls promptly. Definitely a company I'd do business again. The two electricians who performed the work were pros and craftsmanship was apparent.

They have an answering service. They have relayed my messages but do not call back.

It was a father and son who came to work. We had them do some work for us. I think we actually looked them up on Angie's List. When they did the cut out for the switch for the ceiling fan, it was a little larger than the plate so there was a little bit of a hole exposed there, but other than that it was fine. We just didn't realize it until they were already gone. Maybe they should have walked us through what they did so that we could see, almost like an inspection. They came fairly quickly and they called right away when we called them.

We had a problem and they came out and fixed it immediately. They are awesome!

Though I called and left several messages and emailed the company they didn't finally reply to me until I left my third or forth message over the course of a couple of weeks.Once I connected with the Root the service was great and the work was spelled out before each part of the project was begun. I would definitely use Root again.

This is a family business where the person who comes over to see your house and give you the estimate may be (and was in this case) the vice president of the company. He came on time, examined the situation, and made fair recommendations about what needed replacing and what didn't. Never tried to upsell us on anything. The estimate took a few days for him to put together, but it was very thorough when done. I appreciate that; I'd rather a line-by-line estimate that took time and thought, than a ten-minute quick quote that doesn't explain much. This company was respectful and professional at every step of the process. Also, their estimate was well within what research shows is a fair dollar range for the job we had them do. Two electricians showed up and did the job. They were 30 min. late, but that's probably just northern VA traffic working its magic. Once at our house, they were thorough, and took pains to get everything working right and looking right. Every switch, outlet, light, and timer works perfectly. They're pet-friendly (though in fairness the cats mostly hid), and they even fixed a wiring issue in a GFI that wasn't on the original estimate, but didn't add to the charge. Summary: very positive experience, would and will recommend them to friends/coworkers who need electrical work on their similarly older houses.

The owner and another electrician arrived at the specified time and went straight to work. All in all, it took about 2 hours to get all the work done which was great for me. In addition to all the work I asked a lot of questions regarding other electrical issues I have in the house. All of the were answered to my satisfaction. I will be using Root Electric again for all my work.
