The two electricians showed up on time. They were very efficient, made minimal noise and mess, and did a fantastic job. I was absolutely thrilled with the new lights.

They are just a really nice company. They were really prompt in getting back to me on the phone. You have to leave a message and it is a company that answers their calls, and it was within the hour that they called me back and they put me through with the guy that would have probably come out. He just really thoroughly listened to what I had to say and to be just really honest with you it would have probably been a waste of time to come out because it was simple, press this button and do this. So he could have charged me quite a bit to come out and make it look like it was a big deal, but he didn’t. So, I consider that pretty honest. They were just very honest and prompt to call me back. He was very thorough in letting me know what the situation was. When I would talk to him he would tell me well this is really what's the problem and not what you are saying. I would definitely call them back for anything that I needed them to seriously come out and look at for sure.

Excellent response to call for service. Did not overcharge. In fact, provided opportunities to save money both on this call and future calls.

Performed all work as requested. Our home inspector had noted an "issue" which the electrician informed us was not an issue in fact and a common implementation, saving us a small sum.

They took apart the old fan and it's very odd remote control, and installed the new fan. It s operating beautifully, and all went smoothly. The new remote is miniscule and wonderful. In all, I am thrilled with the new fan, the speed from purchase to installation, and the young men who did the job were on time, neat, very polite, and took away the old fan. We'd had a flood in the guest room and we were expecting guests in 3 days, I called Root Electric because so many people recommended them on Angie's list . They were at lunch but the answering service got my information and Bill Root called me back within 90 minutes. I explained to him were were awaiting guests on Friday and had erratic to no power in our guest room which was being repaired following flood damage from the room above. He said his crews were busy, but that he would personally stop over the next morning and check it out. He arrived as promised and checked the electrical receptacles and he quickly found and replaced an outlet that had apparently burned out in the flood and cut the circuit to the rest of the room. He helped me get a light fixture operating and then we rapidly wrapped up business and he was on his way. He made this customer very happy.

He was unprofessional. Update: The company's comments are incorrect. I gave my cell phone number which is with me at all times. I absolutely NEVER EVER received a return call. But, you are correct, I was able to get my issue fix by Corb Elecrtic a company that has proven to be much more professional than Root Electric!

Root Electric came out the same day so they were prompt to respond. Their price, quality, and professionalism were excellent.

Best experience I have ever had with an electrition. Called and left a message on Friday. Bill Root, the owner called me back a few hours later and was able to schedule somebody to come out on Monday. Gave me a 3 hour window instead of the typical 4 hour window. They called 20 minutes before to let me know they were on their way. The two electritions who showed up were friendly and professional. Had the work done in less than an hour as quoted and I even got a $20 first time Angies List discount. Definetly will tell my friends and neighbors about Root Electic!

I called Root Electric to get a quote and left my name, number and a brief description of my needs with the answering service. Bill Root called me back a short time later and we spoke specifically about my needs. He understood exactly what I needed and quoted a very fair price. We agreed on the phone to schedule the work. Their first available appointment was about six working days after we spoke. Andrew and Casey arrived on time this morning to perform the work. They were friendly and professional, knew exactly what needed to be done and got to work quickly and efficiently. At the end, they cleaned up everything, accepted payment by personal check and were on their way. In total, the job took a little over two hours. I was very pleased with this service from Root Electric and would definitely call them again the next time I have electrical needs.

Root Electric did such a fantastic job in May 2010, that we asked them to come back to do more extensive work in June 2010. They are very professional, organized, detail oriented, and a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend Root Electric.

Several of my receptacles, light switches and door bell stopped working. I called Root Electric in the morning and gave the information to the answering service. Mr. Root called me back in less than 30 minutes. After describing the problem to him he said he thought he could have an electrician out that afternoon and that after verifying that someone was available he would call back to confirm the time. He called back a few minutes later and confirmed that the electrician would be there in the afternoon and gave me a two hour window for his arrival. The electrician called when he was on his way and told me when he would arrive. He methodically tested all the breakers, switches and receptacles until he found a switch with a loose wire. He quickly performed the repair. I received a $20.00 Angie's discount because it was the first time I had used the company. I was very pleased with the service and the price.

John and Bryan arrived on time and were very friendly and knowledgeable of the job at hand. We discussed location of the new ceiling fan in the kitchen and locations for the three recessed lights in the adjacent family room. They went about their business very quickly and efficiently. The installation of the fan and lights was completed in less than three hours with a minimal amount of damage to the ceilings. Clean up was very fast. Excellent work.

They came in and replaced it. They knew what they were doing and were nice and professional. Once they left there was some vibration noise that was the original motivating factor of why the panel was replaced. Mr. Root came out, moved a few wires and its been quiet ever since. I feel safer and am very pleased with the whole experience.

I called Root Electric on March 4th when the electrical outlet that powers my freezer quit working. I spoke to Mr. Root and he was so kind to go through a list of things for me to check first. He told me that he didn't want to come out and flip a switch and have to charge me. I went through the steps and nothing worked so I called him back and left him a message. I called the office this morning (Mar 5th) and Mr. Root promptly returned my call and he came out and replaced the breaker switch. I am very grateful that he came out with a snowstorm looming and got my freezer back online.

They were very efficient. The job was perfect. The owner came and did the repair in almost no time; it was about an hour. It was pretty simple. I would recommend them.

Mr. Root and an assistant arrived on time. They laid down dropcloths, assembled the new light, set up a very tall ladder and completed the job in about 30 minutes! Excellent. Root Electric provided a top notch, professional, and pleasurable experience. Their estimator was thorough and responsive, even with my special request for a specific brand Panel. They provided a prompt written estimate, kept me informed of the permit process, and performed their work on time. The installers were very efficient and the finished job is well laid out with fully labeled circuits. The Fairfax County inspection process was quick and passed all requirements, and the inspector commented on the professional and clean job performed by the electricians. Job Well Done!

I found Root Electrical on Angie's List. They came out to view my proposed kitchen lighting project. Bill Root Jr. was enthusiastic about my project, and it was wonderful to bounce ideas and possibilities around with him. Because of our discussion/consultation, he helped me make great choices for my lighting fixtures. They were reasobably priced, quickly set a date for the work, and came in to run the wiring. They made sure to cover all my belongings so that they would not be damaged, get dusty. They were friendly and discussed what they needed to do to be sure it meshed with what I thought was going to happen. They quickly wired the kitchen for its new lighting. After they left, and I saw the amount of repair work that would have to occur to fix the drywall, I decided that I if there was any other lighting I needed, now was the time to do it. I called Bill Root, Jr. to tell him I wanted to do more work in the living room and family room. He came out for consultation very quickly. As before, he was enthusiastic and helped me decide how I could best add lighting into the rooms.I quickly got the quote for the addditional work and we set a fairly quick work date. The guys returned, covered everything, and got the expanded job completed. After the drywall was repaired, they came back to install the final lighting fixtures. The result is a home that now feels more comfortable, is more beatuiful and has depth. I am thrilled with the results. If would use Root Electric again in a hearbeat. I highly recommend them to anyone planning the addition of lighting to their home. Of the two other companies who gave me proposals for the lighitng project, (and who were also rated highly on Angie's List) Root Electric came across as the most capable and knowledgable, and they were.
