They arrive on time and completed the work very quickly. They added the arc fault breakers one at a time and test the circuit first before going to the next one. Had a circuit not worked, they would have put the old breaker back and credited the cost of the unused break. Other companies I check with did not do this.

They gave excellent service. They are coming back for a doorbell issue.

I highly recommend Root Electric. Bill, the owner, came out to do the work to accommodate my schedule. Bill was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. A drop cloth was used inside my house and all debris was cleaned up once the work was completed. I was quoted a price over the phone and there were no surprise charges when payment was due. I will definitely use Root Electric again.

Had 2 new ceiling fans which were tripping the circuit breaker. They took both fans down; checked all wires back to the breaker box and determined that a connection between one of the fans and the light kit was the problem. Explained everything. Am very happy with the experience.

Talked to Mr Root on phone about problem; we both agreed that the 26 year ballasts were the problem. He suggested more modern ballasts with smaller bulbs and quoted a price to which I agreed. We made an appointment with a one hour window. The service workers arrived 25 minutes into the window and efficiently fixed the problem. Turned out that fewer ballasts were required so that my final bill was less that quoted. Workers were thru in about one hour. I was impressed that the workers arrived within the window, quickly fixed the problem at a lower cost. I would use unhesitatingly use Mr Root again.

I needed someone I could trust. The initial diagnosis from First Americans contractor Riddle Electric was fishy. They claimed I had an improperly wired junction in an exterior wall in the garage and that was the source of the problem. They say they traced the interruption in power 4 ft up from the floor ½ down the exterior wall of the garage, but that they did not want to ruin my aluminum siding to try and repair it , but rather fix my circuit by tying into a different circuit. They said this work would not take lon, but they would still have to charge me $200 to fix it (oh yes, because it?s not ?wired to Code? it?s not covered by my warrantee.) I asked my warrantee company for a 2nd opinion since they tell me they could not visually verify the wiring violation. My warrantee company agreed, but later reneged saying 2nd opinions are not covered when your items is not covered (they had a hard time understanding that I disagreed that there was faulty wiring in that wall which made it a non-covered item). After going round and round, I set out to find an electrician I could trust and turned to Angies List. Root Electric was small family owned and stood out with all the positive reviews (reviews I come to find out are not even solicited) . Anyway called and spoke to a nice lady and explained my dilemma. I got a call back from the owner, and he said to let him know when I would be at the rental house and he would come out and have a look. I left work a little early and drove out, I called him on the way, and he was at my house shortly after I arrived. An older gentlemen with lots of experience. I showed the problem outlets and lights. I told him where the main breaker box was, then showed him the garage wall where Riddle traced the problem to. Mr Root looked at me and said, I guarantee you, the source of your problem has nothing to do with anything in that wall. He even went so far as to say it would be highly unlikely that there was even any wires in that wall. He made it clear, that Riddle guy was lying through his teeth. Mr Root went in the house and upstairs and began troubleshooting. Soon he was in the attic testing wires. No high tech tool or testers neither (though he had quite the truck, so I?m sure he was well equipped), For this job, he just used his fingers and a screwdriver. I think he could sense the current flowing through wires. We was in the hot attic several times tracing things out, but in the end, identified the problems. A miss wired receptacle that had been replaced months prior when it failed. The failure was upstairs and the exact opposite side of the house that Riddle reported to my insurance it was. Mr Root gave me an Angies list discount and wrapped up. He even identified for me the cause of an attic fan failure (hadn?t be working for a long time). It?s hard to find someone you can trust these days. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and im not new to electricity. I can trust him, and I can tell that he would not tolerate any such shenanigans from any of her electricians that work for him, something that can?t be said for Riddle.

Arrived as promissed, Went the extra mile by moving two big concrete blocks in the rain. Completed the work, cleaned up. Everything is perfect and looks great. I'm very happy

This company has excellent reviews on Angie's pList, and after doing business with them I know why. I contacted them by email first, and after a prompt answer, I called to set up an appointment. Mr. Root was pleasant to talk with, and gave me the first date that he could. He told me who would be coming, and said that they would call before they came. Everything worked out as he said. Two courteous young men came and installed the fan in about a half hour. I was very impressed, although after getting the new fan I read an article that said attic fans remove too much of the air conditioned air in your house, so you pay more in the end. One last positive note, Root gives a senior discount, which we appreciated.

Getting the estimate and making to appointment was very easy. The owner explained that since the housing was in good shape they replace all the parts in the attic fan and leave the housing in place. This way the roof singles don't have to be disturbed. This sounded like a great plan and the cost was less than the other highly rated companies. The crew arrived on time and were very nice and professional. They quickly did their work and were happy to explain what they were doing along the way. The new motor and fan are much quieter than the old and I couldn't be happier.

Couldn't have gone better. Root did an estimate some time in the past, and offered to honor the estimate even though prices had gone up. Scheduled the work within a week. Root took care of getting the necessary permit and Root's team arrived exactly at the scheduled time, did a very professional job, and walked me through what the inspector would want to see when he came out. They also cleaned up very well after themselves, including sweeping the floor where they walked in. They also will take care of calling the inspector to come out. All-in-all it was very uneventful, and no surprises -- as it ideally should be. The only thing I would do differently is decline their offer to schedule the inspection. In Fairfax County, it's very simple. Just call the telephone number on the permit and the office takes it from there. Less than a minute.

The two electricians arrived five minutes early, and were courteous and professional. Within minutes of arriving they began working, and within two hours had installed both ceiling fans. The clean-up was prompt and efficient, and they left the work area cleaner than they had found it. I highly recommend Root Electric for any job you may have.

iWe meet with Bill Root in late May and he was punctual and very professional. He not only discussed what we wanted but we felt he offered very practical ideas on how we could do things and how he was going to approach what we asked him to do. The follow up quote was very easy to read and understand with each task separated and priced along with the materials his team would need to do the job. While he wasnt the lowest price we felt his was the most professional. We agreed on a date and a team of two electricians called ahead the day we agreed to to see if they could come early as their prior job ended sooner than expected. We agreed and they were on time and got to it. They were professional and peronable. During the period between the quote and their arrival we asked to have the switch for the basement light moved. Bill Root had no problem with that and identified how he thought they would do it. When the two electricians arrived they looked at what we asked and gave another idea that we were happy with. They confered with Bill by phone and it was done with no delay. The installers took their time to make sure there were no safety issues left over from work we had done in years past by another contractor - we appreciated that.. The work was completed to our complete satisfaction. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone.

It went well. They did good clean up and they explained a lot of things. They were very responsive. We provided the outlet fixtures so it was just pure labor. They were good.

I was called by the provider very shortly after I emailed them through Angie's List. They were able to send someone out within the next few days (I think my schedule was more prohibitive than theirs). When we spoke on the phone, I referenced the coupon I saw on Angie's List, and the person I was speaking with said he would make note of it on the ticket. On the day of the appointment, the technicians were ahead of schedule and called me to see if they could come early. Unfortunately, I couldn't get home to meet them earlier than our agreed upon time, but they showed up right on time. The truck had the company logo on it, which I like. The technicians quickly identified and fixed the problem. The whole job was less than an hour. When the technician brought the ticket in for payment, the coupon discount had already been applied - I like this a lot. This was a great transaction. The gentlemen were very nice and professional. I will use Root Electrical again.

From the first phone call I made to Root Electric, I always spoke with a person, not a recording, and in this day that was a real treat and great service. Estimate date and time was provided within my parameters, and Bill Jr showed up right as stated. He listened well to what I wanted to do in renovating/updating kitchen electrics and made some suggestions that were superb. Bid provided on day stated and covered everything I wanted, even down to how many of this and that, how much wire, etc. Price was well within other quotes I had obtained and date was scheduled, again suiting my time line. Two techs showed up on date about 5 minutes early and started promptly. These gentlemen knew what they were doing, one started in the kitchen, the other in the rec room and outside. They came together to finish the kitchen, helping each other in a most efficient manner, was great to watch their interaction and discussion as they moved through the work. All the work was done in about 4 hours, everything checked before they left, everything was cleaned. So now we have a much more modern kitchen, the recessed lights make it feel almost voluminous, ground fault up to code, dimmer switch on the recessed lights and the Mrs happy as could be. A professional job in all areas, knowledgeable staff and easy to deal with. No question in my mind that I would use them again, and have told all my neighbors about them.
