Description of Work: We had Absolute Insulation replace the insulation in our 1967 home. They removed all the fiberglass insulation, installed baffles, cleaned and sealed up the attic and installed a layer of foam and celluose insulation. While we haven't had a really hot day to test yet, the temperature upstairs is now only about a 5 degree difference from the downstairs whereas before it could 10 degrees hotter. We had four different quotes and would have used any of the other installers. We chose Absolute because they offered the best price for completely removing the old insulation and adding all new. Dave, the owner was extremely knowledgeable and provided a lot of information. The crew was extremely professional and provided me with information throughout the install as well as attic checks when I wanted to see what was happening. If we move and need insulation again, I will definitely contact Absolute Insulation.

Description of Work: I needed my crawlspace insulated and after calling around and describing what I wanted done (spray foam insulation) and how high my crawlspace was (not very), I found Absolute Insulation Services. They came out, looked around and said it would be tight but they'd be able to do it. | |Scheduling was easy and when the day came, they showed up and went to work. It took them half the day and I'm very happy with the result so far. If I ever need any other insulation related work, they'll be my first call.

Description of Work: David Sampson and the Absolute Insulation team were great to work with. They proposed a hybrid spray foam and blown insulation approach but revised their proposal based on my request for a more traditional spray foam insulation approach to make the entire attic area a conditioned space. In addition to applying spray foam to the attic, they fixed improperly vented bath fans and sprayed the underside of a floor in a crawlspace, too. These improvements have made a huge, noticeable difference in the comfort of my home. The teams led by Eric worked across two days and were prompt and professional throughout. Absolute Insulation was almost my least expensive of 4 quotes (with huge variation in prices across the quotes), but the cheapest was not selected based on my research.

Description of Work: I had Absolute come out and do a combination spray-foam/cellulose insulation in my attic and 2 bedrooms. They managed to squeeze in the job on pretty short notice. I wished to keep the carpet intact in both bedrooms and they did a good job of keeping the spray foam contained, which is apparently not the easiest thing to do. | |One side note - I was a little disappointed with the level of sound dampening (or lack thereof) of the spray foam. It seems a marginal improvement, at best, over the 40 years old fiberglass that was in place. So if you're counting on significant acoustic improvements, you may be disappointed. This is isn't Absolute's fault, just seems the insulation is not quite what I hoped.

Debbie in the office was knowledgeable and worked with me to set up an appointment that worked with my work schedule given I needed two crews, one to blow in the insulation into the attic areas, above the garage ceiling, and another to place insulation on the interior walls of the two crawl spaces on either side of a room and office above the garage. The guys were pleasant, neat,t and kept everything nice and clean. They showed up on time, answered all questions, and exceeded my expectations. My daughters' room is much warmer now. I would recommend them to all and would use them again.
Description of Work: Absolute Insulation insulated the ceiling of the garage, the knee walls around either side of a room above the garage, and topped off the insulation in the attic of my four bedroom home.

The work was done promptly as scheduled and cleanup was excellent. The insulation installers also exceeded my expectations by finishing the drill holes into the wainscoted wall in such a way that made the wall plugs invisible when painted. The room looks great and feels warmer on cold days. We were very happy with the service, process, and results of this contractor's work and would recommend to anyone.

 + -1 moreExcellent experience, from making appointment by phone, to thorough estimate performed by David Sampson at home, to phone call from crew to my office 30 minutes before arrival, and performance of work. Top notch, service oriented company with high standards exhibited by everyone. I got a detailed estimate quickly, which included an Internet link to objective third-party insulation information. The job involved two crews: one that specializes in the blown in insulation and another that handled the crawl space Fiberglas insulation. My husband was home to meet them and he was very pleased. Both crews were on time, very professional, polite and friendly, clean, efficient, careful and left our property clean. Absolute Insulation is an outstanding company providing excellent customer service and quality work at a fair price.
Description of Work: Installed blown insulation in attic and Fiberglas batt insulation in crawl space. Also removed trash from attic and installed bathroom exhaust hoses for two exhausts.

 + -1 moreThey were incredible. They were just as polite as can be, did the work, and cleaned up neat as a pin. My husband who is annoyed by everyone seemed to even like having them there. "What a bunch of nice guys", he said. I had total confidence that they were not trying to "sell us" something but wanted to fix the problem. Before they came my hands were stiff typing and now I am typing in that same addition and it is 30 degrees outside and I am almost warm.
Description of Work: I have two attics in my house. One above an addition on the ground floor which sits above a crawl space and one on the second floor of my house. The addition was terribly cold. David came over and explained that the insulation was put in incorrectly underneath the crawl space and was too thin in both attics. So they did put in new insulation correctly in the crawl space and blew in more insulation in both attics.

 + -1 moreDuring a recent spat of cold weather, we had a pipe burst in a crawl space in our house. Getting the plumber there to fix the pipe was step number one. Getting someone to insulate the place properly so that it wouldn't happen again was step number two. With more cold weather on the way, we called Absolute Insulation Services. They were prompt, professional, and very responsive. The crew worked in cold weather in a somewhat exposed space that had was very wet and cold. They did a great job overall. As I mentioned earlier, we called them back to get another estimate on insulating our attic. While there, the estimator reinspected the work that they had done previously. As I wasn't there when it was originally done, it was nice that he took the time to walk me through the job, explain what they did and why. I can't recommend these people enough.
Description of Work: We had them insulate a crawl space under our house. The job went so well that we are about to schedule them to come out and blow insulation in our attic.

They arrived on time, found the square footage to be less than my estimate, and reduce the quote accordingly. They were efficient, polite, and conscientious about cleanliness and keeping insulation from getting into the house. The work took only about an hour. The project lead was well-spoken and was able to answer all my questions and concerns.

David came out and did thorough measurements (I thought our other two estimates did not take into account that our attic is smaller on one end). The guys were out within 10 days. Removing the old wool rock was a messy affair, but they covered the whole house in drop clothes and plastic. The crews were all very nice. The work looks fantastic. David was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Even got the $100 off Angie's List coupon.
Description of Work: Sprayed R55 level of cellulose insulation in our attic and completely re-did the batting in 8 eaves/dormer spaces. Previous attic insulation was only R6.

They put down drop clothes to protect from the rain of the day and loose insulation. Hoses were very clean. Two men worked efficiently and quickly. They cleaned up any loose insulation and vacuumed the floor where dropped clothes were. They were very careful not to damage any furniture. They were excellent. They were very polite and professional men. There was no coarse talk. They were a pleasure to do business with.

They spread drop cloths and cleaned up well when the job was finished. I was invited to inspect their work. Job took a little over one hour.
