We have a contract on our townhouse and Melvin performed these services to help us complete an inspection contingency. He was very punctual and very responsive. He even contacted us via email while we were on vacation to get approval for some small additional work that was needed. I would highly recommend him.

Melvin and his helper were very professional, very good and proud of their work. Arrived on time each day. Kept the work area clean and claned up daily. They were with us a week for the work. Job #1 took 3 days and Job #2 took 2 days. His price was one of the lower estimates that we received. We are very pleased with the quality of the work.

Melvin arrived on time. He removed the old carpeting and disposed of it, leveled the floor, laid the new tile, replaced the door framing and put in a new door and repainted the wall in that area matching the original paint color to the wall. He arrived on time, the job was finished in 2 days and he did an excellent job.

My experience was outstanding. Melvin was professional, prompt and showed me what was wrong as well as shared why it was wrong and what to do about. I would recommend him to anyone.

Melvin repaired the woodpecker holes with sheet metal patches and then painted over them. He did it in such a way that they blend in well with the rest of the siding. He suggested the sheet metal. I had several other estimates and everyone else wanted to patch the holes with wood filler or bondo, which would probably come out over time. He worked alone and was undaunted by the height of some of the holes on the siding. He also did a great job with the wood repair work and the gutter cleaning. The gutter cleaning on my three story Williamsburg colonial with a cedar shake roof was not an easy task, as Melvin did it without walking on the roof. He removed and bagged the debris and used a hose to flush the gutters as he went along. Melvin is personable and kept me informed as to what he was doing and he takes pride in his work. Also, he offered the best price compared to the other estimated I received.

We recently installed a new bathroom vanity and wanted someone to hook up the water supply and drain. Since we would be having that work done, we also decided to replace two toilets with higher seats, and replace the set-tub in the laundry room. We bought the toilets, set-tub, and faucets. We took out the set-tub, but left the old toilets installed. We then contacted Melvin's Handyman Services. I sent an email to the address given, but received no reply. After 2 days I called the number. Melvin immediately called back. He gave me a different email, and when I sent him an email, he immediately answered. I told him what I needed, and he gave me an estimated price over the phone. He arrived at the agreed upon time. He checked out the work, and stated he needed a few additional plumbing pieces (drain pipes and hook up hoses). He confirmed the original price. The only thing I added was for him to take the original toilets away for $20. I gave him money and he went to Home Depot to buy the additional plumbing parts, brought back the change and the receipt and showed me what he bought. From then on the work proceeded without a problem. It took about 4 hours. He cleaned up after himself, took the old toilets and left. He told me that if there were any problems to call him and he would be here and fix them. I've waited about a month to see that everything was working. I am completely satisfied.

I had some odd jobs I needed done around the house. Melvin had helped in the past, so I called today. I expected to set up a time and day for him to come. He said he had some free time today and came over an hour later. He assessed the situation, made recommendations, and got the work done. He needed a part from the hardware store to repair the shower upstairs. He had another appointment and said he'd pick up the part on his way back after that appointment. He was back exactly as promised and fixed the shower. I also need some floor work done in the same bathroom which he will be doing in a couple of weeks. Melvin is prompt, efficient, capable, pleasant, and dependable.

We had damage to our roof and I had seen a truck in our neighborhood for Melvin's Handyman Services. I wrote down the number and made the call. I was very pleased with Melvin's response, availability and pricing. He arrived on time, brought all the appropriate supplies and equipment with him. He completed the work in a timely manner. He also removed some plant growth from the side of our home. I found out from him that it was indeed poison ivy! My husband and I were very pleased and mentioned to Melvin that we had some issues with an upstairs toilet. It had given us trouble in the past and we had a plumber "snake" it only 6 weeks earlier. Melvin listened to our concerns and suggested he replace the wax seal instead of using a snake. He was correct! The toilet functions much better now ! Melvin noticed some minor damage to our garage door when he was finishing up one of the jobs. We added that to his list, and got the same great service. My husband suffered a stroke late last year, so he can't do all the things he used to and would still like to do. It's not easy to find someone so professional, reasonably priced, easy to work with. Melvin will most definately be receiving more requests from us!
