Homeowner does not need to be present, although I was. We purchased the $99 gutter special through Angie's and because of a steep roof pitch, also paid the $30 extra. It was a great deal! Our gutters hadn't been cleaned in a couple of years and we have a heavily treed lot so the gutters were filled with debris and some of the downspouts were clogged. The 2 men who came out were very professional. They even sprayed an area of the roof line which had some sort of stinging insects with the can of insecticide I gave them so they could finish the job. They methodically cleaned all the gutters, and blew off any debris which landed on the deck. The only thing I was surprised about was that this deal did not include flushing the gutters with water. I did not realize that when I ordered the service but the gutters are functioning well and they spent a good deal of time on the cleaning. They also gave me a recommendation to have larger downspouts installed as the current ones are inadequate.

The company had to reschedule the initial appointment, and then that rescheduled appointment had to be rescheduled yet again. From the date of the original appointment to when they actually came out was almost a month. When they did arrive, the gentleman I talked to on the phone was very polite. He said that I did not have to do anything to assist them in their work. The 2 gentleman who cleaned the gutters and checked the roof were quick, and were done within half an hour. I will use this company again for future work but will have concerns regarding their issues with rescheduling.

It went really well and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. There were no hidden fees and I was completely happy with their work! They're good problem solvers -- I was having an issue with my hoses and they were able to work around it. Very cooperative and highly recommended!

Gutter cleaning was completed after two trips. Asked for a quote on additional roof services, but the estimate was significantly over-priced.

I purchased a deal to pressure wash my house in April. They immediately responded and we set a time for May 14th, when the weather would be better. I think I spoke with Joseph, whom was super helpful, polite and answered all my questions. They do not do roof cleaning, btw. I moved what plants I could away from the house so the chemicals wouldn't get on them. A different person came out by himself. He was on time, efficient and did a great job! Without my asking, he was even able to clean up stubborn spots off the siding where deck stain splattered (which I had thought were permanent)! There was no up-selling or hidden charges of any kind. He forgot to close the gate to the backyard and left without verifying that I approved of the work, but since the work was excellent, I really can't complain! I would definitely recommend them and also use them again!

I recently bought a new house, and my second floor gutters were clogged with pine needles. The technician scheduled a time with me to clean the gutters while I was at work. This saved me from having to take time off from work. My gutters now drain without a problem.

The job was rescheduled twice , once due to rain and the second time due to a miscommunication. I was told they were coming the following Thursday but when I called to ask why they didn't come, I was told it was scheduled for tow weeks from the first date. When they did come they cleaned some leaves off the porch roof and I was told that the seam in the roof was fixed because he calked it. I did not feel very assured the problem was and there was no paper work left.

The exterior of our home was power washed well, and the chemicals they used didn't harm any plants. They were thorough, friendly, and did a great job overall. I would certainly recommend them.

On June 4th, 2014 I ordered gutter cleaning from J & E Home Services for $99 through their Big Deal offer. I filled out the scheduling form asking for the following Monday morning, June 9th but that any morning was okay. I also put on the form that I would be interested in any advice about repairing or replacing our gutters. I got an email back that they would not be able to get to me until the following Monday, June 16th and asked me if that was okay ("Thank you for your purchase, would it be okay to come by on 6/16 to take care of your gutter cleaning? Joe Joseph Harris www.jandehomeservices.com 703-853-7395"). I was disappointed in the delay but I replied that it was, and got an answer back that they would see me on 6/16 ("Thank you, see you 6/16, J & E Home Services"). When they hadn't shown up by noon on the 16th I called and was told despite their two emails to the contrary that I was not scheduled for cleaning until the next day, June 17th. When I stated that I wanted a reason why the discrepancy, I was told "I'm so sorry for the misunderstanding, we working on transferring all appointments to a new system. Which is giving us headaches, because not all appointments are being transferred. I am sorry for to inconvenience." I waited around on the 17th and at 4:30 on the 17th they called and said that they would not be able to get to me today and rescheduled my cleaning to Wednesday the 25th, another 8 days away and 21 days from my original purchase. No one showed on the 25th and I received no phone call or email from the company - nothing. I called their office at 5:30 and got voice mail. I left my name, number, and reason but as of an hour later no one called me back. I could understand if we had been having awful weather but we hadn't. Tired of getting the runaround from them, at this point I decided to call Angie's List and cancel the service. They did state (in the ad and first email) that I did not have to be here for the cleaning. However, I wanted to see what they did, wanted to see just what junk was found in each of the gutters, and wanted to see what recommendations they might have about repair or replacement. Therefore, I wanted to be on hand for their visit and was here for each of the scheduled days. The delays were very inconvenient. I do not know if the problem is my location (Franconia area), that I am a Big Deal customer, or that they are just that incompetent, but enough is enough.

This was terrific. Their promptness really stinks, as they missed two appointments. Their workers are great. We are very happy with what they did as they did really good work in the inspection. They were very professional and thorough. We were really surprised by the amount of work they did. They completed the inspection so we are having them fix the problems noted and they gave us a very good price.

Showed up on time, confirmed low pressure and chemical will not hurt my flowers in the flower bed. I would recommend to anyone.

I communicated with the company ahead of time via e-mail; however when the technician arrived he stated that he did not have the capability to include our deck in the house power wash. He went on to say that we had so little siding on our brick house that their services were perhaps not appropriate. I spoke with the company owner (Joe) and he said I should go back to Angie's List and request a refund, which is what I am doing. Thank you.

They came and cleaned the gutters and left us informaiton on a section of gutter that had to be replaced. They were back to the house within days to replace the gutter and we are happy and would use them again in the future.

Called on Friday, quoted me $99. I told them about the coupon on angie's list and they said oh 99 is already 10% off. How's that? Anyways, thought we'd work it out when they were supposed to show up Monday. It's Tuesday. No call, no show. Oh well. Now off to someone else on the list. Guess this is what Angie's is for.

It went well. We happened to be home at the time (we didn't need to be there) so we saw the care taken in setting up, power washing the house and cleaning up to leave. Part of the service includes an inspection of the outside of our house. They have promised to email us pictures if they find anything of concern. Nice people, good work and would definitely use them again!

Although I have gutter guards, thousands of maple seeds were on top of them, falling into my yard at every breath of wind. The Company came, cleaned and was gone - very efficient, cleaned up after themselves, punctual.

I wasnt able to get the services completed because I needed the job performed before July and the provider cant complete it until July. The water from the rain is forming a trench around our house due to the buildup in our gutters and we need them cleaned ASAP.

The gentleman was prompt at 830. He went straight to work. We removed pine needles that were half on the gutter and half on the roof. I think he was done in about two hours. I am happy about my clean gutters, it had not been done in a few years.

The two people from J & E Home Services did a wonderful job. They were very thorough and cleaned not only the open gutter but also the clogged pipes. They later tested the cleaning with water and even corrected the pitch of a small section of the down spout.

Gus (foreman) and Chris arrived at the appointed time and got ready to blow the leaves out of our gutters. We had just bagged 32 bags of leaves so requested that they not blow the leaves into the flower beds and yard. They cleaned out all or our gutters by hand and bagged the debris as they went along. They ran water to be sure that all of the downspouts were cleared. Both fellows were very friendly and very professional. A "follow-up" telephone call was received the next day from Joseph Harris, the company owner. He was making sure that we were satisfied with the job his workmen had provided. We definitely were! We were especially grateful that they let us schedule our appointment late in the season after all of the leaves had come down. We would definitely use this company again for our gutter needs.

I wasn't home, so assume they did job. Impressed with their emails to remind me of upcoming service.

It was pretty good. The job was completed like they said they would on time and there was no problems with anything.

Scheduling was very easy. On the date of the service, I returned home and found that the siding looked clean. However, there were unexplained marks on the columns at my front door that had not been there before. I haven't had a chance to contact the company about those -- just noting for the review. Otherwise, the service was as expected.
