they set not one but two date to perform service and never appeared. after the first no show they responded saying they were having " growing pains" . they rescheduled and again never appeared. hopefully angies list will assist with a refund and no longer affiliate themselves with this provider

They were prompt about getting to us and came when they said they were coming. They put all the trash at the curb. They didn't leave it in the yard. They noticed that I needed some plates around my roof vents and came back again to fix those.

It was fine. We paid for the service that we got and then they did some additional repair work that we paid for on top of that. I would recommend them to a friend or use them again in the future. I was happy. I thought that the price was fair. They were very good on responsiveness. They showed up on time.

The crew arrived on time and performed the cleaning very quickly. Very professional guys. They also performed an assessment of my roof and provided pictures of some areas that needed repairs.

I hired J& E home services for gutter cleaning last year. It was a great experience. The owner notified me that my pipe stem was bent, and emailed me photos. He also took time to explain the issue and why it was important that I replace it. I was so pleased with the owner's customer service and follow through, that I paid $350 for the pipe stem repair (more than most companies). This year, I hired J&E for gutter cleaning and to take photos of my roof again since I found this service so helpful. However, J&E made a 180 turn for the worst in customer service. No return calls nor return emails for a month. The owner was so unresponsive that I became worried and thought he was ill. I found another service, but then received a bill stating services were done. Frankly, I don't even know if the services were actually completed since the pictures I requested were not included. I left a message with J&E to clarify, and no return call. I am more than disappointed. Grade F for J and E. Find another company that actually responds to customers.

Lesson Learned: Never pre-pay Angie;s List. Membership Cancelled due to lost money and no service......

Service went well.. Chimney was cleaned on the initial visit. The gutters were cleaned later as the temperature made it difficult to complete the cleaning.

Had them clean the second chimney. Returned to install flashing on the deck/house, seal some areas on the roof. Excellent job!

I bought a big deal for this service and it was a good one.

We were very pleased with that. We are setting up an appointment with them to replace the roof as well. For responsiveness, I have been calling them for a couple of days asking them to call me back about the roof and I have not from them.

It’s been a disaster in almost every way. After we got the deal, it took forever to get through to them and to be able to schedule a visit for an estimate. Once we got him out here, he’s very knowledgeable. It was an agreeable experience. After that, it took him forever to deliver the estimate to us. Instead of the $300 of work, it had 5 different items on it. One of which was over a thousand dollars. He was trying to increase his amount of work. We chose the $300 option. That was the item that we had looked for to begin with and we sent that back to him. We never heard back. Ever since then, we’ve been calling and calling and leaving messages. Nobody has ever once responded to one of our calls. Ever since early April when we bought it, we’ve only talked to a live person one time. Yesterday, I went to the address that I searched online for his business and it was his mother’s house. I spoke to his mother. I was very angry and asked that he’d call me. He didn’t call. He emailed later in the day to say that Angie’s List takes a percentage of all of the fees they make. In case of masonry, they take most of it so he felt that he had met his obligation and he didn’t plan to do anything else. Meanwhile, he’s given us an estimate and done no work. He says he thinks he is done. My wife has already instituted that. She’s already complained and asked for a refund. She has an email going back and forth. I’d like to request that he no longer be able to use Angie’s List because what he did was fraudulent in my mind. We’re looking for a refund somehow. Somebody needs to go to court with him but Angie’s List won’t do that. He says it’s between me and Angie’s List. They tried to upsell us into thousands and thousands of dollars and when it became apparent that we were only a small customer, it wasn’t worth their time. Although that’s what the deal was. It was a small amount so it should have been worth their time because that’s what they were advertising.

That one didn't go as well as we would have expected it to go. His actual work was alright but he didn't finish up a couple of areas where we thought should have been done. His initial $99 was fine but I think the addition of the extra was a little bit more. We had to call him a number of times.

After a date was arranged they came out in a timely manner. The gutters are certainly cleaned. We had "flash flood" heavy rain a few days later and the gutters handled the volume of water. This was great. Since I cannot not climb a later to inspect, this was the best way to say they did a good job cleaning. However, once here they did not knock on the door to let us know that they were going to start work nor did they let us know when they were done. Both are okay, but it would have been courteous. I believe they hauled away most of the debris, but I cannot be certain. The reason I will not use them again is that debris was left on our front entrance and back deck.

They scheduled an appointment to inspect the brickwork and to determine the scope of the job. The technician came out and also inspected our chimney and found it needed work. He then when up on the roof and told my husband the ridge vent needed to be replaced. The total cost was approximately $5,000. They also offered to clean my gutters for an additional $150. The gutter where cleaned. i contacted Six Penny Chimney and ask them for an estimate for the chimney work and they quoted me $1,400. Their rating was better than J & E Home Service and they did a great job in a timely manner. I would recommend Six Penny Chimney if you have chimney or masonry work. Our roof was inspected last year and they roofers didn't find anything wrong with my ridge vents. i contacted J & E Home Services to come back and do the original work i contacted them for, there was no response. Six Penny Chimney did the additional work for $400.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We purchased the Angie's list deal for masonry services in early April. Their estimator came out on April 30, took pictures, and said we would get the results within a week or a week and a half. One month later we contacted them to say we had not heard back from them on when they were going to come and do the services we paid for. On June 2 they responded saying "Hello, I'm very sorry for the delay. We let the technician go that was out to estimate your job. We've since hired a more experienced gentleman, and he has updated your info in our system. I'll get the quote out to you tomorrow." Someone came out and we never received his estimate. We cancelled this deal, but we are now stuck with having to find some other Angie's List deal to use it on. We only needed masonry services, but there are no deals. We are not happy that Angie's list is not returning our money, and do not recommend ever using J&E.

They had to reschedule multiple times but I guess it went alright.

Paid for an Angie's List back on the 6th of May for gutter and roof cleaning. Really excited for the deal to come along when it did, because there was some storm debris on our roof and the plan was to use this Angie's List deal to address that. During the initial "select dates that you would like to request service" we selected dates in the middle of May, and the vendor responded that they wouldn't be able to get us in until the 19th of June. Quite a delay to be sure, but we had no other recourse other than to wait for the 19th. The day of the 18th we were contacted to confirm our appointment (12-5pm window), which we confirmed. The day of the 19th we received a call, saying that they had to let their technician go, and we were rescheduled for the 26th of June. There was an additional no-show on the 26th, with no calls to explain the absence. We're now looking at July, 2 months after the Angie's List was purchased, with no service provided, still debris on our roof and phone calls result in a message saying that "mailbox is full and cannot accept new messages". I cannot recommend this vendor for future customers.

The gutter cleaning was done and it was ok. They even sent me pictures of before and after. They did a mediocre jof cleaning up. They use a leaf blower to clean out the gutters, then they go to the ground and blow whatever debris off your deck. They did that, but they didn't clear out the walkup basement stairwell that lead to some minor flooding in our basement as the drain was quickly clogged by the debris. I should have caught that I guess. The tune up has never occured even though early conversations with the contractor they insisted their tech in fact did the tuning, it was only after I told them I was THERE and the tech's explicitly said they didn't know anything about a "tuning", they were just there to Clean, did they relent. Based on how I was treated by the contractor's assistants and their unorganized communications during this process I have cancelled all future business with the contractor (I was going to get some new gutters, I will now just do it myself). Another interesting tidbit. All told, the cleaning crew measured the gutters I wanted replaced, and it was 30 feet. The Gutter cleaning guy says while onsite the install for 7dollars a foot minus downspouts. Simple math and that is about 210 dollars, minus downspouts. The quote came in for 750 dollars including downspouts, but they would give me a 200 dollar discount??? The materials at Home Depot are less that 50 dollars and its about 2 hours of work for me to do it myself which I will now do. At this point I am also canceling Angies List since they won't refund my 75 dollars. It will be up to them and my credit card company to resolve. UPDATE: Both Angies list and J&H made this right by me (refund and an apology) in a very professional manner once I found the right people to tell my story to. I will actually give both of them another chance. Please make sure you understand the 30 day refund period. After 30 days, it is just a credit for other services. Steve

Thorough cleaning of chimney and inspection, found minor crack in chimney and provided photos of areas needing repairs. Submitted reasonable cost estimate for repair. Gutter work was thorough and quick. They arrive on time and every service person has been exceptionally pleasant to work with. highly recommend!

So Five dates were offered three with no response in May and two cancellation by then in June. They wanted to make another date but after 5 requested dates I find it so sad Angie's List would want to keep them on their listing as a reliable source for Gutter Service. A $75 service could lead to further need but when 5 dates requested but no service why would I want to use this company.

They cleaned the gutters, as requested. They also set me up to get the gutters cleaned twice a year, at a discounted rate. Very responsive to emails for arranging the date and asking questions about the total cost.

Very positive experience. Power washing was completed thoroughly and promptly. Superior quality work.

Very well. Didn't try to up sell and gave us a good estimate of repairs needed.

So far, the company reps I have spoken with have been very knowledgeable and willing to work with me on price and what needs to be done.

They didn't do any roofing; they did a quick check. Service was fine. They recommended about fifteen hundred dollars worth of repair which my husband kind of double checked and thought that was a little bit outside what he would have expected. Honestly all we used them for was the gutter cleaning.
