They came in, I said, hey I need this work done, this work done, how much more would I have to pay to get that fixed? They came back and said, well you need your chimney fixed and you need this, and you need that. The next thing I know I am looking at $12000 worth of work. I never got resolution, they kept on saying, why aren't you taking advantage of this great $12000 Deal they were giving you. And I said, well, listen, I just don't want to do business with you anymore. I paid a lot for nothing. It took them a long time to get back to me, I almost forgot that I'd actually asked for the Deal. Then when I called back, I talked to somebody and they didn't know what I was talking about. It was not good. It took them a month and a half to not do what I asked them to do. I think they had problems with their records or something. They could give me my money back.

Contracted to have the work done in April, work didn't get done until June. The area of the repair was small and really didn't warrant the additional $200 I was charged and then to have the work schedule constantly delayed because I guess they only have one person who can do masonry repairs. All I can say is that the work was done, the concrete is two colors because I know the older concrete is just that . . . old but I would've hoped they would have offered an alternative or give me a good price to redo the entire porch area. At any rate, the work was OK and the newly poured concrete is already showing signs of cracking. :-(

Regarding the satellite dish, Joe told me that to avoid a future leak, they would reseal damaged wood (if any) and replace the shingles. The shingles they used to for the repair did not match the surrounding shingles. I would have made a big deal out of that at the time had I known I had one of the most common types and colors of asphalt shingles. Now, a mere year later, another roofer has advised me that there is a serious leak over my garage that has led to significant plywood damage, and that the cause of the leak was that a screw hole was not filled in when the satellite dish was repaired. I now must spend more money to repair the damage caused by removal of the satellite dish than I spent on having the satellite dish removed.

Good response, friendly, professional employees, good work. Had a minor issue with the billing, but they fixed it right away with no issues. Recommended.

The service was okay. I did not have any additional out-of-pocket cost when they came out. I needed to get my money back because they called me at the last minute and then postponed for two months and they said that they could not because it was an Angie’s List groupon that I would have to get my money back through Angie’s List not through them. So, I ended up instead of getting my gutter cleaned, I got my chimney cleaned and when they came and did that, they said that they were gutter guys. They were not really the chimney guys to do it.

They performed the assigned tasks.

No problem. Showed up on time. Cleaned gutters for $99 and provided free estimate for additional needed roof repairs.

They did not use the hose, they just used the blower. My husband was surprised they did not use the hose. When they called me they used the wrong address. They thought I was a church. I was not happy after the first contact. They did apologize.

I could have gotten the service done for less but the price was fair. The company was very accommodating of my work schedule. I can't comment on the attire or attitude of the person who performed the service because I wasn't there when it was done. I can say he or she did what they were supposed to do and corrected the problem I was having with water overflowing the gutters instead of flowing through the downspout. Overall, it was a good deal.

Took three months to finally schedule the appointment. Did not clean up the gutter. Left message and never get response back.

All of the work went well. J&E did a good job and didn't try to upsell us on getting larger (5") gutters as others had. All the work they did was good and they were easy to deal with. The repitched gutters now flow properly. The one problem we had then was their responsiveness. It took too many phone calls to get a callback, however, when we had this work done (2014), their Angies list rating was higher than it is now. They don't seem to be in the business of returning calls. We recently left two messages for new work, and never received a call back. Based on that we will use another contractor.

First they missed appointment dates that they had scheduled with no contact. I finally reached them via email and after some excuses they said they were going to come back - although very suspicious that the owner or technician's phone was always down. Next I get an email that they came by when I was at work and my wife was out and they did all this gutter work in an hour. A card was left and then an email stating they were by and they did this work etc. The first rain since they were here - water drips from the joints they supposedly sealed. My guess is that they never did any work and just dropped the card off since no one was home and said they did work. They appear to be a complete sham and Angie's List should be ashamed for sponsoring this deal I signed up with them.

Made three appointments from 8/22 until 09/25. Cancelled because of "emergency roof repair", "didn't have your email address to confirm" and finally "our work truck is broken".

Unsatisfactory. As explained above. I felt like I paid $149 for getting a quote on Chimney work. I was charged an additional 50$ for the screened gutter on the rear, but was dropped when I indicated the deal didn't specify that.

They quoted that the work would take a week to complete. Between the day that they contracted me and August 26th, they showed up sporadically for a few hours at a time, weeks apart. They would not come unless I called and demanded they actually came to do the work. They would then schedule and cancel several appointments due to various excuses. During that 4 month period, they managed to come a few times and start to do some wrapping. I actually had to tell them to tear some down and redo it, due to shoddy work. they forced panels of metals, there were overlapping pieces of metal where it should have been a single pieces, buckling pieces with gaps. I informed them to tear down the work and put on a whole new piece. I kept calling the company to finish the job and I finally had enough and on August 26th, because the work has not been completed and shoddy, I was left with no other alternative than to cancel the work due to the poor service. I have since requested a refund of my deposit $1,605.

I had a few issues with it. It turned out to be a much bigger project than I anticipated and we were on a time schedule which they promised me they could do. There service was not that great. The job was okay. I won't use them again.

This was an Angie's List "Big Deal" for gutter cleaning so the price was great. I presume the gutter cleaning was performed -- we don't have a ladder tall enough so cannot check. HOWEVER, the service had to be rescheduled three times over the course of about 6 weeks. According to the scheduler who kept calling me, they had repeated staffing problems -- "laying off crews," etc. The repeated no shows were frustrating because we had a tremendous amount of rain this spring and our downspouts kept getting clogged. Additionally, when J&E did finally show up, they also provided an unsolicited inspection of our roof, which is slate. We have it inspected annually by a qualified slate specialist and had just recently had one performed, and as usual only a few broken pieces of slate needed to be repaired. The J&E inspection represented that the entire roof was in bad shape and needed to be replaced. In the notes they said that the roof was "barely walkable." That caused a panic because YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO WALK ON A SLATE ROOF!! So I called them to determine whether or not their inspector had walked on the roof. They couldn't say for sure. Concerned that they had walked on the roof and caused damage, we had our regular company come back and they did find a number of newly cracked slates that needed repair. Consequently, we do not plan to use J&E in the future.

They were fine. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal price.

As promised. On time and well done.

Provider contacted me via e-mail to make an appointment for 09/01. They indicated that they would follow-up on 08/31 to confirm. Needless to say I received no call on 08/31 and no one came on 09/01 despite me calling twice (once at 11AM and again at 4pm) and being sent to voicemail. I'll update the review if they ever decide to call me back. Otherwise, I'll be asking for a refund from Angie's List. UPDATE: They set up two additional times and they didn't show for either of them. Of course they didn't reach out until I contacted them. This company is literally garbage. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else.

I responded to a proposal from Angies List for this service on 08/18/2015. I also prepaid $149.00 for the service and provided proposed dates for service to be performed. I responded to a follow-up E-mail from Angies List and stated no one had contacted me to perform the service. I again provided alternative dates for the service to be performed. Neither time did anyone make any attempt to contact me to perform the service. I am still waiting for a response from either Angie's List or from the contractor to schedule this service.

I purchased a $149 gutter tune up with this company. We communicated via e-mail and scheduled service for 28 August. The company said they would confirm via e-mail the day before, 27 August. By 7 p.m. on 27 August I had not heard from anyone so I sent an e-mail stating so. Still nothing. The morning of 28 August I called the company. The call went right to voice mail and I left a message requesting a call back as to whether they were coming or not. I called again several times that day, each time the call went directly to voice mail. I never received a response. I then cancelled the service via e-mail due to their lack of showing up and lack of response via e-mail and the phone.

Very professional, good work. A little hard to schedule, in part due to some bad weather around the time we were initially scheduled. Wide arrival window was difficult to work around on some days and when we had service cancelled a couple times due to weather it was challenging. However, the work was good and we later hired them to do some additional work which was well done and the guy they sent out was great to work with.

Good service. They were honest and down-to-earth.
