Description of Work: I don't really know. They came out to check the roof and efficiency of my home. They told me I didn't have to be home because everything was done outside. After the appointment They never called me to tell me what they found, so I called them. The receptionist said there were no notes in the computer, but she put me on hold and called the technician who came out. He told her that there were no notes because |Everything was fine. I was surprised because the roof is 20 yrs old, and expected them to say something about the old garage door, the leaky dog door, or poor insulation of the front door, but there was nothing. Apparently for the $199 they also didnt do anything, so I wasted my money because any free estimate could have told me everything was fine.

Description of Work: J&E's office staff was nice over the phone, but they changed the schedule for our estimate visit five times before the crew finally showed up. A variety of excuses were offered for these delays, but it almost seemed as if they were trying to run out the clock on your 30-day refund period, since the crew finally got here just 2 days before the period ended. The estimates they provided seemed much too high for the work involved. In addition, the lead technician misunderstood my description of the service needed, so the estimate stated that additional costs would be incurred if the full scope of the work I had described was to be performed. All in all, a very unsatisfying experience. I plan to try my luck using other local contractors recommended by my neighbors.

Description of Work: I received a quote to replace the mortor joints on two steps, approximately 30 joints, and the company wanted over $900 to perform a couple of hours job. Much too expensive.

Description of Work: Roof repairs. They were very nice but seemed disorganized. The work wasn't done to my expectations for the discounted cost (a deal through Angie's list) and I had to pay again for the service to be done. All in all, it cost 3 times the amount of the "deal". I felt like the "deal" was a complete hoax. I must repeat, though, that the people I dealt with were very nice. I didn't fuss about the cost because by the time was all said and done, I just wanted to get the work completed.

Description of Work: Unfortunately, I was not at home when this service was done My friend said they did a nice job cleaning out the gutters The only thing that puzzled him was that the muck from the gutters were dumped in my back yard's 'potholes' |I cannot recall the exact date, Sept or Oct and the cost as I am currently not at home in Virginia to check

Description of Work: I purchased a deal for an exterior maintenance package. There was bad weather and they rescheduled about three times. The workers who came out were fine. However, the deal was not as what it was advertised. Our expectation, even after speaking with them on the phone, was that they were going to access the exterior and if they saw something that was going to need to be fixed, they would repair one thing. They didn’t repair or complete maintenance on anything. Instead, they identified issues and emailed us an estimate for $2,000 of work instead. Our experience with them was very disappointing.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List deal at the end of November 2014 for a chimney sweep and inspection for approximately $120. The first appointment was made for three weeks after the purchase. The technician went to the wrong address after I informed their support staff of my current address on two separate occasions. No work was ultimately completed that day and our next appointment was set for another three weeks out. J&E did not show for the appointment and cited poor weather as the reason, they never called to inform me of the cancellation. The third appointment was scheduled for two weeks out and again, J&E cancelled the appointment due to poor weather and stated the conditions on the roof might be dangerous for the technician. The appointment was then scheduled another week later, at this point work was finally performed during the second week in February. The appointment took approximately 10 minutes with little work being done and the technician not going on the roof. It was a very frustrating experience dealing with J&E and would highly suggest using someone else. It is completely unacceptable to put off customers the way this company did and am incredibly disappointed in the customer service.

Description of Work: Cleaned the gutters, bagged the leaves and put the bag on the curb. I was expecting a written note about suggestions for improving my gutter downspouts but didn't receive one. Some leaves were blow onto the lawn but I'll guess that was the leaves on the roof shingles. Overall, the gutter cleaning was good.

Description of Work: Did roof work. Reinstalled boots at the bottom of the vent pipe and replaced rotten wood.

Description of Work: The provider arrived at my home around 4:30 p.m. They had called earlier to say that they would be late. By the time they arrived, it was getting dark. Without the benefit of daylight, I could not determine what was done. They also offered to clean my gutters in the dark. Somehow that did not seem to be a good idea to me. They were very courteous, but it was too dark to see what they were doing on the roof.
