About us

Mover Dudes was started in 2006 by Jon Eye, the company's current President. Eye had been working for a self-storage company helping people move in and out of homes. After hearing about all of the difficulties and stresses people were consistently experiencing when moving, Eye decided that he wanted to help them. He envisioned a company that kept their word to the customer, was honest about costs, and relieved the common stresses of moving. Mover Dudes is now the reality of his vision. The company started small, but with a small ad in the telephone book, the company grew. Eye and his hard-working crew began moving local residents out of the area, and before they knew it, the name “Mover Dudes” was catching on. Long distance moves soon expanded into commercial moves after 1 year in business. Mover Dudes continued to grow, even while fighting, like everyone else, through the tough economy. Our facilities and service areas have continued to expand so that we can offer more service to our customers. Our satellite location opened in Leesburg, Virginia in 2011, and a 2nd one in Charlotteville, Virginia in 2013. We also now have a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse located in Winchester, which opened in 2013. We are currently focusing on growing in new areas so that we can expand our company's professionalism and quality to more customers. Mover Dudes has moved thousands of people. We move doctors, attorneys, professional athletes, businesses, churches, families, friends, and everyone in between. Description of Work: They were Ok. On time for the most part. They had to put everything in one truck. We did not want to pay for a second truck. A few things were broken. Nothing major, nothing terrible. The guys did work hard to try to complete the move within our budget. I guess, I would use them again.

Per our records, there were some pretty significant last minute additions to your inventory, so, we had to pack the truck extremely tightly. Please let family and friends know about Mover Dudes! While your move may have gone well but not perfect, we can assure you, there are folks out there that have used other movers and had poor experiences, who would greatly appreciate the kind of experience we can provide! Description of Work: The MoverDudes moved my parents from MD to VA. They had quite a bit accumulated after 55 years in their home. The guys were great - they spent the time needed and were very careful with things. They communicated well and did a great job! If I had to move again, I'd call MoverDudes! Every part of the process from the first call to the very end went well without an issue!

Description of Work: Hired them when another mover wanted a very large fee for moving goods out of storage to new home in NC. Were $1500 cheaper. Some screw ups in organizing hand off from first mover to them but once our stuff was transferred, service was great. Got to new home quickly and did a fine job in unloading and setting up.

Description of Work: Good company. Very respectful to both me and my wife (as the clients) and to each other. Called before arrival with an ETA and was fairly accurate on the time. Crew leads knew their jobs and did them well (even chastising team members when necessary). Respected my wishes for carpet protection (since we have brand new carpeting downstairs). Had a crew-wide smoke before the job got started and didn't take a long time to do it (this way, they didn't stop during the process). They did forget a few things (I had asked for boxes to move clothes and they forgot specific carpet protection items) and we had a couple of dinged items (which can happen with any crew) but they made up for it in price reductions in various areas, not charging for certain smaller items and improvising on the carpet protection so that all worked out well. Price came in under what I was quoted. I do recommend double-checking to make sure they bring everything they're supposed to but overall I do recommend this company. I was impressed with the manners and respect and making sure they made things right in the end.
