About us

Mover Dudes was started in 2006 by Jon Eye, the company's current President. Eye had been working for a self-storage company helping people move in and out of homes. After hearing about all of the difficulties and stresses people were consistently experiencing when moving, Eye decided that he wanted to help them. He envisioned a company that kept their word to the customer, was honest about costs, and relieved the common stresses of moving. Mover Dudes is now the reality of his vision. The company started small, but with a small ad in the telephone book, the company grew. Eye and his hard-working crew began moving local residents out of the area, and before they knew it, the name “Mover Dudes” was catching on. Long distance moves soon expanded into commercial moves after 1 year in business. Mover Dudes continued to grow, even while fighting, like everyone else, through the tough economy. Our facilities and service areas have continued to expand so that we can offer more service to our customers. Our satellite location opened in Leesburg, Virginia in 2011, and a 2nd one in Charlotteville, Virginia in 2013. We also now have a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse located in Winchester, which opened in 2013. We are currently focusing on growing in new areas so that we can expand our company's professionalism and quality to more customers. Mover Dudes has moved thousands of people. We move doctors, attorneys, professional athletes, businesses, churches, families, friends, and everyone in between. Description of Work: They moved about half an apt. worth of furniture from Charlottesville, VA to Rockville, MD. The guys informed my daughter late that they would be held up and did she still want them. They did arrive but the truck broke down later that day. After speaking with a manager at 9PM an arrangement was made to deliver the next day which occurred without a hitch. Overall, the guys were professional, the admin staff very competent, and the price excellent.

Description of Work: I needed some larger furniture moved to my Mother In Laws home before 1/20/2016 as our home sale was closing soon after. We had already moved most items and were in need of a quick quote and help to finish up. I contacted several more local moving companies to garner bids in Roanoke, Va...BUT Mover Dudes were the ONLY ones to respond back to me, and responded the day after i submitted a request through their website for an estimate. For the amount of items I had to move, the price was a little higher than I expected, but you cannot ask for better customer service, promptness, and puling through to get the job done. Very pleased with my experience

Description of Work: I received quotes for a small move from WV to MD from 3 of the larger competitors and Mover Dudes offered what I believed to be a fair quote. In fact, I was a little skeptical at first at the price being so low after the ridiculous quotes I received from the other moving companies. But they kept in contact with me throughout the process. They were on time and stayed w/in budget. Now, it helps that I packed my belongings and had an accurate accounting of what I was moving when I called them for a quote. I also moved my 'treasures' myself i.e, artwork and china. I've moved 5 times in the past 12 years.... I've learned my lessons. We have another move coming down the pike in about 14 months. I will be calling them back.

Description of Work: Having hardwood floors refinished, we had to move the entire contents of our house into either the garage, the kitchen or two storage pods. They helped with what we could not do moving out and the entirety of moving everything back inside. They were courteous, prompt, and complete in what they did.

Description of Work: They moved us from Northeast Ohio to central Virginia, a 7 1/2 hour drive. Overall I thought they took great care with our possessions & worked efficiently. The crew leaders worked very hard & guided the team well. They offered the best price & promised to get us unloaded quicker than larger moving companies where there could have been several days of lag time. I think the few damages we experienced are normal for the moving process. The only big problem was our baby grand piano. When they reassembled it they put two of the legs in the wrong position. I had to have a professional piano company repair it, but Mover Dudes quickly reimbursed me for this expense as I had purchased full insurance coverage.
