+ -1 moreI was concerned about moving my safe and I called multiple times to make sure if they could do the job. I was assured they could. I took pictures of the safe and gave the dimensions. Of course the day of the move, i was told it was going to be difficult, how I should have crated it and how the other team would not have moved the safe. I did not have much faith in them but after a lot of complaining they did move it. Once the semi reached my home they had to off load it to a smaller u-haul to shuttle the items to my house. Of course, I was not told this before hand and had to pay an extra $860.. They also threw their empty soda cans in my new neighbor's property. That was a nice touch! Never again will use them.

+ -1 moreThe packers took 1 and 1/2 days and were very efficient and neat. They packed things to be very safe and undamaged. The movers were there the next day on time. There were 5 guys. They were very friendly and professional. They had to put loads onto a U-Haul truck and take it to their tractor trailer at the end of our driveway. This was because our driveway was too narrow and winding for their tractor trailer to get up. It also rained hard all day. They made sure all furniture was wrapped and covered so as not to get wet. They arrived with our furniture when they said they would and called ahead as promised. The unloading went smoothly. Nothing was damaged and thankfully it wasn't raining that day. They finished in 7 1/2 hours. Over all I think this is a very good moving company and their price beats many others.

+ -1 moreUsed Mover Dudes a couple times before and didn't have any issues. This long distance move however changed my mind about them. The mover's themselves are great however on the management level they are disorganized and obviously don't talk to each other. I paid for the 2-13 day move which was fine. They gave me 4 different dates in which my stuff arrived over 3 weeks causing my having to rearrange my schedule 4 times. I was never called when they were on there way down. The warehouse did not provide the packers with enough tape and pads to pack my stuff which left my stuff open to getting damaged. I am not impressed with the management of Mover Dudes and definitely won't be using them again or recommending them.

Once I decided to contract with them, they were flexible in my payment options. The crew that packed my house did a great job and worked very hard. The unloading crew was just as good. There was not one single item missing or broken. Everything was unloaded and re-assembled in a prompt and professional manner. I have moved eight times and I would highly recommend Mover Dudes.

+ -1 moreI am afraid I wrote another review that was meant for LOCAL MUSCLE, not MOVER DUDES. PLEASE disregard the one that received mostly A's. I will give a more accurate review at a later time, when I am finished unpacking.
Description of Work: For now I can only give them a C because my belongings are still in storage and I don't know if anything is damaged and I might not have questioned it except for what my daughter said about their delivery. She was NOT impressed! She was the one who had to meet them at the storage unit in Maine at 8 pm. They were obviously tired and one of them took a careless step off the back of the truck because he was "muscling" TWO CARAVAN Snow TIRES at once & therefore could not see where he was going and "BLAM" he fell off the back of the truck and was bruised. Fortunately, she did not think it was too serious an injury as far as she could tell. She said they never should have begun that late when they were tired because it took 2 hours,until 10pm, to unload. They should be advised to NOT begin such a huge task of delivering an entire household so late at night, after driving over 1500 miles. It would have been wiser to return in the morning. Fatigue, naturally lends itself to absent minded carelessness & injuries or damage to merchandise. Now, although these things were negatives;It is important and fair to acknowledge the positives: Both young mover dudes were polite,amiable and hard-working. The bigger issue I had was the cost which I thought was a bit unfair because of the formula they used. I was initially told they considered weight, distance and cot of moving boxes, bins or plastic bags.Two other companies had given me estimates using similar combinations based on: weight, distance and CUBIC SQUARE FEET. As a Literacy Specialist my larger part of belongings are books and because I am 65, only 140 lbs, and I packed all of the books myself,I used smaller boxes so they would not be too heavy to lift as I brought them out into the garage to expedite the process. In the end, I was charged BY THE BOX (236 of them) Not by Cubic feet...236 boxes. They used a dolly & 99% of them were already in the garage so they only had to wheel them on a dolly about 20-25 feet. Because they used a dolly, and did not have to go back & forth more times for each separate box, nor climb stairs or enter the house to get them, I think Cubic feet would be a more reasonable measure of cost. That is about all. Otherwise it all got done. |Just one more suggestion; I'd recommend that before Mover Dudes leave on such a long distance move, they should offer to walk through the house with you and ask if there is anything else you might like them to bring. They were in such a hurry to leave I felt like I missed out on some closure to review what was left or needed to go. The result was I had to bring more than I should have in my van. The biggest error was they mistakenly took a package from the front steps of the next door neighbor (granted we share a porch in a condo unit) But this package was delivered via UPS & had someone else's name on it and it was NOT in with my pile of things. Since it was not MINE to take or pack, I had to pay that person $350.0+ to replace it and then mail it at additional $12.00 from the state of Maine to MN. Not fun! Well, that is all for now. I hope and pray that all else will come out positive with nothing broken, in which case I will change my grade to a B.
