The technician was, in alphabetical order, adaptable, courteous, hard working, neat, and prompt. Clearly, he had years of experience and it showed in the way he confidently performed the job. It was a pleasure working with him today and Top Dog is now on my personal Call-First list.

TRUTH TO ADVERTISING and BEYOND! I highly recommend Top Dog and the Heiston Kitchen and Bath team for high-quality service at an affordable price. They truly live up to their top dog reputation for outstanding craftsmanship and customer service. Unlike big handyman franchises, Top Dog is family-owned and operated, so the attention to detail had a hint of personal touch, whether my job was big or small. Top Dog is not only knowledgeable and skilled with facets of my home, they really did it all for me. From changing a simple light bulb in my ceiling fan, replacing my door bell, installing my new dishwasher, adjusting my water pressure, diagnosing the leakage problem of my water heater, to assessing a major leak in my master bathroom. Rod Heiston visited my home for a visual inspection of the problems and patiently discussed solutions and options, while being efficiently mindful of time. The fee was consistent so I was not surprised by a large bill. The service charge was one of the MOST ECONOMICAL in the area, and their hourly rates were only billed at $89 per hour. I am definitely considering them for my comprehensive home remodeling needs-- for my new kitchen, bath, basement, and deck! Thanks Top Dog!

Mr. Heiston calmly explained everything about the job and went right to work repairing the hole in our ceiling. He checked the wiring and ventilation to assure that there was no damage. Then, he placed the drywall perfectly and sanded and painted it to match. He maintained a very clean work area and caused no disruption in our home at all! Service like this is rare these days! I will be using TOP Dog and Mr. Heiston again and will recommend him to all of my friends in the area.

Rod Heiston, the owner of Top Dog Professional Handyman Services, initially was very helpful, and until the end of the project tried to make things right. However, he did not have sufficient supervision of his workers and didn't not assign enough to do the job. The smaller jobs, like recaulking the master bathroom was fine. They replaced the food disposer in the kitchen, but neglected to test it before finishing and so did not realize that they had neglected to connect it to the dishwasher. I discovered this when water went all over my kitchen--I called Rod and he sent his man back over and he fixed the problem. The basement project was far more than Rod's team was prepared to handle, though Rod did not hesitate to take the job. He estimated that the work would take 2-3 days and would cost about $1200, plus supplies. After $3200 and the job was no where near being finished, I told Rod that I couldn't afford his affordable handyman services. My husband and I finished the job ourselves. I found that Rod's worker had bought way too much siding for the wall, and purchased other things that were inappropriate to the job at hand. While I made some mistakes along the way with this project, like forgetting to set the temporary garage code (but I gave the worker the code and he was back in business within 15 mins of the agreed start time), Top Dog Handyman was just not capable of handling the larger handyman jobs. Rod Heiston would do well to hire a new crew and closely supervise them. There was a whole lot of wasted time that I was billed for, and the job was not finished. Rod did try to make things right by having his workman finish the job for free (beyond the $3200 I'd already paid), but neither he nor his workman showed up for 2-3 of the days Rod said he was coming, and then showed up (apparently) on a day that was not planned and Rod complained that I had not set the temporary garage code and said he couldn't do the work unless I was there, but had no explanation for the no shows the previous 2-3 days. That was when I concluded our business arrangment, cut my losses and finished the job myself.

Wife called and left a message with them about 3 potential jobs last Monday. It's been almost a week and I haven't even been given the courtesy of a call back. Guess they've got plenty of business and don't need mine.

Rob and his crew were the ONLY people who would fix my ceiling fan on my 20 ft ceiling. I have been trying to get it fixed for over a year and no one wanted to touch it. I was in the process of moving and the inspector made this an issue to go to closing. Rob came over with one other and had it fixed within the hour.

From the start, the handyman was scheduled to show up at 8:30am, planned days in advance. Unfortunately, he didnt show up until 2 hours later. I had to call the manager to find out what was taking so long. Only then did I discover the guy had gotten lost, somehow being 15-20 miles away from my house. Once the guy showed up, he was great. He was willing to take his shoes off so as not to dirty the carpet. He was diligent and very professional. I cant say enough about his work quality. I am very happy with the outcome. He made a little mess by accidentally spraying gap filler on the wall of the shower and wall, but once I brought it to his attention, he took care of it at once. Otherwise, I believe that this was a great experience. I am not really inclined to hire contractors to do work that I can do, but if you are looking, and need a professional, definitely consider these guys. You wont be disappointed.

Top Dog's work ethic was over and beyond the norm. Therefore, I plan to only use Top Dog's business. They exceeded my expectations and I would refer them to anyone. I expect to use Top Dog for many more upcoming jobs.

Very well, They laid down plastic to keep everything clean and did amazing work. I am glad I found Rod and his top service company. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. You cant go wrong with Top Dog

It turned out really good. They got there on time. They did not leave a mess. They were quick with their work. They were very professional.

That was in my top three overall all time home services. Not naonly the professionalism that they displayed, but also great social skills very nice to be around

It went smoother than I ever could have hoped for. I am thankful I found an amazing contractor I can call and they come and do great work. Couldn't ask for a better company! Thank you Top Dog!!!

He said they were going to come back to do the finishing and cleaning and has not turned up. The work is done. He said he will come back with a cleaner and has no done that. He sometimes did not answer my call. He took a month to finish the work. He first ordered a door and after two days he realized that the door was not the same on we wanted. We had to cancel that order and then we placed another order. We placed the next order which took some time. Once the estimation came he realized that the door again was not the door we wanted again. He then said that we will have to go with customized door. He came and looked at the door once again and decided to replace the entire door. We then realized that it was going to be very expensive. He then checked the door and realized it was not that bad and decided to repair it. The main problem with him was that he did not return my call and he did not come a few times when he said he would be coming. Finally, the work he did needed to be cleaned. He has not called us back or come yet. I don?t think he has done a proper work. He even charged us more than the other quote we got.

It went poorly. The contract was hourly. The goal was not to get everything done but to make a dent in my to-do list. This was supposed to be one day of work 1 - Worker was very late the first day. I had to make phone calls to find out what was happening and if they were coming. Spent time shopping for items needed which I expected. Very little was completed (he was on-site for 6 hours) but I was promised that he would be back at 7:00 AM the next morning and could finish everything up in a few hours. No way to evaluate his performance other than he was always late. I paid for first day's hours by check. 2 - I got a call at 6am from worker. He will be there soon. No one showed up until almost 10. No calls until I started calling and was told a different person would be coming, New person showed up without a saw which he needed - he also needed to shop. Spent the whole day finishing up - and seemed to be working very slowly. He got no help or direction from Top Dog and needed it. Turns out he needed a saw that the first person had and couldnt do the work and was stalling until it arrived. First person showed up with the saw for a few minutes and then took it with him again. when he left Again, worker was stalling since he could not finish job without a saw. I got one from my garage - all he had to do was let me know but he did not think of it.. I was being charged hourly. I called office to complain and they really had no answer - I told them I should not be paying for someone's time when he was purposely working slowly since he did not have the tools he needed. That being said, the work he did was of good quality. I was charged the full numbers of hours for second day which I did not pay. Again I called the owner and said we needed to discuss this and work out some agreement. 3 - A meeting at my home the next week. Owner did not come - he sent worker 1 which was not professional. There was some adjustment of the hours - I paid what I considered very generous and Top Dog considered fair - and some promising of future hours and work which never happened. Results of work: 1 - drywall crack/repair was completed - satisfactory 2 - window shelf - work was excellent 3 - painting water tank - poor 4 - door opening - excellent 5 - cabinet doors repair -average. Already loose again where glued. 6 - inserts in sink - one was replaced incorrectly and caused a leak

I recently had my bathroom remodeled by Top Dog and working with them from beginning to end was a breeze. From the moment I called to get an estimate (which was free) they made me feel like I was their #1 customer. I was still contemplating on whether I wanted to go ahead with the project in my home and they didn?t make me feel like I was wasting their time by coming out. I think that after visualizing what they could do to my bathroom, with the help of Dan and the design team?it really put things into perspective and the pricing was right where I wanted to be. Everyone involved in the process was very professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful, which I needed a lot of considering my indecisiveness in picking the correct colors and fixtures for me. With Rod and his team of experts the job was done in no time with quality, care and continuous workmanship. I was in my newly remodeled bathroom fast and it fit me perfect! Top Dog showed up on time. The quality of their work is outstanding. The job was completed on budget and they cleaned up after they the job was complete. We were very impressed with their service and will use them again.

It went very well. Rod and his team are capable, professional and friendly. They have a background not only in handyman work but also in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. They provided solid advice on how long things would take, and also what the risks were, if any, for trying to fix certain things. I ended up spending a more than I anticipated because I agreed to let them rebuild a leaking and messy shower in my master bath. They gave me a reduced hourly rate on that part of the job because it was so large. It looks great now and doesn't leak! In general they did a great job. The only negative I have is that they might have been a little too much perfectionists for my situation. In some cases, I just wanted things fixed to look good with minimal effort because we are selling. Rod and his team have a hard time not doing the best and highest quality job possible. I recommend them and would use them again.

When we decided to start the replacement of the fascia Rod was there over seeing all work. Upon removing the rotten wood it was found that the porch was built with no structural integrity forcing the Heiston's to stop work, reinforce the porch and then to rebuild it. Rod explained in great detail the work that needed to be done and was professional in all aspects of the job. The attention to detail is well worth the money and greatly appreciated. We will be using the Heiston's for any remodeling projects we have as we know it will be done right the first time.

Rod Heiston performed the appraisal and Kathleen Heiston faxed DETAILED contracts outlining every aspect of the work, time estimates, workers, and product warranty. Took less than 2 weeks to complete from start to finish. They encountered sloping in the dining room that needed to be leveled. This was an unexpected cost but they were well into finishing the upper floors and living room. The floors are real wood and look beautiful. The price was pretty steep but Heiston does all of the work by hand and the finished quality of their work is custom and one of a kind. We could have gotten the floors for less but not the kind of hands-on carpentry and floor pattern design. The stairs are beautiful. The only negative we have are the visible nails coming through the unfinished ceiling in our laundry room. This will be covered in the future when we have the room finished.
