Top Dog Professional Handyman Svcs

They ended up charging me $700. It took 40 minutes, tops, to do all the sinks. They wanted to charge me $700 because they told me the Angie's List coupon was for one faucet only. They said it cost $295 each to install other faucets. I was supplying the faucets and did not buy the hardware from them. I talked them down about $100 but it still ended up costing me about $600 to install 3 faucets.

This was not a great experience. He came out and fixed the issues that we had. However, once he was completed he left it for us to assemble. It was not very professional.

Handyman service was to seal gutter corners with sealant because some of the corners were leaking. Paid almost 500 to do the job but after the next rain we found one corner that was still leaking. Called back and they refused to come out unless we paid them again. They need to stand by their work.

Rod and his crew are the first ones I call with issues with my home. With preparing my condo for sale, I've contacted him a lot. He us quick to respond and fits me into his schedule as soon as he can. His prices are VERYcompetitive and he is even open to discounts for frequent customers. His company''s work quality equals their ethics and caring. They are an excellent company to work with. I only wish I could take them with me when I move. Its so hard to find a good handyman, especually in a new area.

I purchased the Big Deal because I needed to get a small bathroom updated quickly to get my condo ready to place on the market. Top Dog are kitchen and bath specialist so Rod knew exactly what I wanted done without me have to explain the job. He outlined the tasks he thought the team could get accomplished in the 16 hours and provided a detailed list of materials and supplies to be used. Looking forward to working with them.

They told me I needed a new knob in the basement that leads up to the outside faucet, however, they did not tell me until the job was completed that they don’t take credit cards. Luckily, I had enough cash on me that day to pay them. They were able to find a leak from a busted pipe in my upstairs bathroom shower, but I still need some other work done and would not call them again to come out.

They do not install attic fans

Top Dog was great! We initially contacted them about a separate problem, but they were super jammed and couldn't send someone out right away. Instead of leaving me high and dry, Rod was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and walk me through what I needed to do to fix it. Fantastic! When our shower faucet broke, Top Dog was the first place we called. They sent someone out right away and they were able to fix it quickly with no problems. Would definitely use them again!

I spoke with them over the phone. They never came out for the service because they do not service the D.C. area.

They did a great job. They were easy to have in the home. They were prompt and quick to complete the job.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It turned out pretty well. We were very pleased with the speed to get things started and the overall work. It took a long time even with a crew of four so the rate was about twice what I had expected. The $799 I paid for the Big Deal got their foot through the door. I would hire them for future work but I would be real clear upfront on the price and the time it would take to do the job.

I would call them adequate. They did what they said they would, I watched them do what they did, it looked to me like they brushed the dust off and said $69 please. I thought it would have run fine without them. I got what they said I was going to get I suppose. They showed up on time, they did what they said they were going to do, and Angie's List could only let me schedule one furnace, and it was hard to schedule another one. It took me two weeks to schedule the 2nd furnace, and it took several phone calls. I don't know if this service is even necessary. They charged what they said they would. They were probably busy that time of the year with their special. I am not sure if I would use any provider, because I don't know if this service is necessary.

I described the work to be done in detail on a telephone call and reviewed the hourly price charged. After a few postponements, Top Dog showed up with 4 employees and no materials. Two employees stood around for an hour and a half while the other two went for supplies. The work was completed in about 4 hours. Top Dog then spend the rest of the day dreaming up new work to do...cleaning out gutters, mostly. The boss showed up and pressed my wife for more things to keep 4 men busy the entire day. She called me at work to complain about the "pushy" attitude of the boss...it was unnerving...and I spoke with him on the phone. Can't recall the dummy's name, but his claim was that Top Dog comes for "an entire day, not just for 2 jobs." The point is that I'd never hire 4 workers at $100 an hour per worker to clean gutters. I found the company to be completely unethical and would NEVER use them again at any price. A total ripoff. Why they are on Angie's List is a mystery to me. Howard Jensen

Everything was great. Two workmen arrived at appointed time and worked for 7 1/2 hours. They first put down paint tarps throughout the house to protect the floors and taped up plastic sheeting to keep drywall dust out of rest of the house. Work was impeccable. You cannot even tell there was ever any ripped up drywall.

Since this purchase was made using Big Deal and the service could not be performed I received a refund.

The technician was knowledgeable and friendly. I was very pleased with this service.

I sent an email the day I purchased the deal and never got a response. I did allow a good deal of time before we tried contacting them again and during that time we never heard from them either. This time, my husband reached them by phone and they did a phone consult and said they could 'probably' come by on Saturday 2/22. When they did not call or email to confirm they were coming my husband called them that Friday night the 21st and left a voice mail to please let us know the status so we would know to be home or not. We again never received any return call or email nor did anyone show up. My husband did finally receive a voice mail the following Monday the 24th, nearly a week after originally contacting them, stating they did apologize but just got back into town and just found out there man did not come. At this point after several attempts to contact them we had to move on due to the leak we needed them to fix becoming bigger. Very disappointed considering we purchased this deal based on other reviews on here.

I had them install a faucet fixture in a powder room. I had them also check a couple other fixtures too around the house. They sent out a very nice man. The installation was quite difficult and he tried really hard, but shortly after he left, it became loose. There was also some damage to the marble floor due to the installation. I did not call and let them know that the fixture became loose so they were not able to respond to that.

I am not happy. I called them and realized that the Big Deal wasn’t what I expected. I wanted ceiling fans installed. They said the job I was looking to have done would be hundreds of dollars more, around $350-400. They said the Big Deal cost did not include the electrician’s time. The Big Deal was not as advertised. It was misleading. I ended up doing the job myself instead.

Top dog was very responsive, happy to answer questions over the phone, and very thorough in trying to accurately address the problem of really cold pipes and really poor builder insulation in my house. They insulated the pipes, tore intro drywall and put better insulation all around the walls by the pipes (in response to pipes freezing). They also fixed a toilet and replaced some valves.

They did about 35 minutes of work and charged me for a full hour. They did a pretty good job, it looks nice and the leak was gone, but they did not communicate the price at the time. I sent a message to followup on Sunday and they replied today, Wednesday. I told them I wasn’t happy with the way I was charged and the late arrival, the response I got back was a hollow apology. I gave them some advice on how to be a better businessman. I had another handyman come to do some other work on our house, including fixing the water pressure in the shower which decreased after the faucet work that was done, and he said I was ignorant of the laws regarding this kind of work. He then called me personally and was extremely hostile and said something about “tit for tat game” and said he had my company's information, which seemed like a threat. It came across that they did not appreciate my opinion.

One suggestion. The workers washed their brushes with the hoses in my very expensive outdoor bush installation, which killed them. They need to wash them in the utility sink. But the pianist was perfect.

Took him two days! he said he had to removed toilet we think he took advantage of seniors was nice giving us butt s*** conversation about how our Toilet was cheap and we needed to replace it ,another 500.00 -!000.00 $ we live a New in 55 & older community price was not we expected for a Angie list special deal very displease with him service and switch and bate tactic never use again! :(

Rod responded promptly to my message and told me over the phone that his company isn't licensed in my area. Prompt. Professional.

Fixed a small leaking pipe. Went well.
