we deceide to use McCrea after gettings several quotes for the replacement and found theirs to be the most cost effective for what we were looking for. We selected a date for the installation, the technicians arrived on time and were professional and courteous throughout the process, did a great job of cleaning up, and demostrated the features of the new system and ho to use it. I was pleased with the work performed and would use them again and highly reccomend them.

I can't speak highly enough about this company. Right from the salesman being very knowledgeable about his products, to the customer service employees in the office being friendly and helpful, to the service repair team being professional and knowing their stuff. In July of last year I purchased a top-of-the-line Trane heatpump, which worked beautifully through the summer. This winter, when the temps would fall into the teens, the unit would make a horrible noise. Chris Frye and Josh Barrett came to my house today to address the problem. They were very punctual, professional, and friendly. Better yet, they were able to locate the problem and are going to order the part to replace the unit under warranty. We lost heat last night and left a message with their answering service. We received a call from McCrea first thing in the AM. They apologized that there was no technician available immediately, but they would send the first technician they could. A serviceman came at 1, was very courteous and efficient, and found the source of the problem. The filter was too restrictive, and tripped the sensor. Since we signed up for McCrea's annual maintenance, McCrea did not treat this as an emergency call, but rather Fall maintenance which we forgot to get done, so they didn't charge us. The service repairman was named Dennis, who not only diagnosed the problem, but provided maintenance checks, and gave us useful tips. Highly recommend McCrea.

Chris and Robert made a cold day warm in the house at the end. They did as promised and freely shared when I asked about what was being done. Their customer focus treated me like I treat my customers -. It was a pleasure doing business with them and Mark - the sales guy was outstanding as well. The proposal I asked for was what I received The explanatory date backed up the claims and his recommendations were spot on. My wife is comfortable in the house for the first time since we bought it 8 years ago.

I've had a service contract with them for several years and had issues. At first I thought it was just a dishonest technician, but after the same issue with three different techs I've realized it's a company wide practice. First time house was almost brand new, new development built from the ground up. Technician told me I had a leak in my A/C systems which were just a couple of years old. In fact, McCrea had installed the entire system for the builder! Tried to upsell me on a very expensive leak sealant, something like $189 per zone, so almost $400 for my house. Also told me I had rust in my system and that I needed an expensive water valve system to prevent disaster. When I asked her to just add some Freon, first she quoted me about $350 to add about a pound of gas to two systems. I argued and she immediately discounted it to $160. I still own that house and have never had any trouble with the systems and did not need any additional Freon until about 5-6 years later. Next year it was a new technician who was fine, did not try to gouge me. Eventually bought a new house and got a new technician from McCrea. First time around the guy tells me the same thing, all my 3 A/C systems, which are less than 10 years old, are leaking. Again pushed same expensive leak sealant, this time almost $600 for 3 zones. Then he told me one of my outside A/C compressors had a leaking capacitor. I told him just to add some gas and replace capacitor. He said he would have to order capacitor and return and replace and that I would not have to be home. He added gas and charged me in advance for the capacitor. He charged me about $800 for all of this. He never returned with the capacitor. I called customer service and they said they would have someone come out and leave a note after the repair was done. I never got a note and to this day don't know if capacitor was replaced. Finally, I wanted a whole house humidifier installed. Asked them for a quote since I still have time remaining on my service contract. Yet another tech tried to tell me that I needed two humidifiers since I have a 3 zone system and my lower 2 zones feed both floors. I know this is a complete lie as I have checked all the vents on both floors in question with the two systems running alternately. I eventually paid more to Snell Heating and Cooling to install humidifier just because I did not wish to give another cent to McCrea. The most crooked and dishonest service company I have ever dealt with.

I had called McCrea to have them come out and give me a second quote for a new HVAC system which was, according to another company, was in need of replacement. The salesman took a look at my system and actually recommended that we get a second opinion since the furnace was much newer than the AC. He arranged for a tech from McCrea to come out and encouraged us to use the Angie's List coupon for a diagnostic check. They sent out a tech - Joe - who was very friendly and professional. He recommended that we wait to replace the AC in the Spring but to keep the furnace and blower which was in good working order. Instead of a simple diagnostic call he performed a regular tune-up for the Winter and since it cost more than the $49, he applied that as a credit to what I owed him for the tune-up. We ended up signing up for a yearly service agreement with them so that we could benefit from future price discounts. We recently had them install a whole house humidifier for about $540 and will use them in the Spring to replace the AC. We wanted a company that sold Carrier (rather than Bryant) and they also sell Trane products so we might look into upgrading the AC to a Trane when the time comes. So far they have been reliable and we are pleased with the service.

Simply wonderful. The best. The contractor had intended to use another, more local, smaller provider. McCrea was significantly less, and the contractor has said numerous times how their job exceeded his expectations. McCrea was very professional, had drawings performed for the job, etc. But, the end result is what really counts--the addition has one unit, three zones, on two levels. There are no hot or cold spots, temperature is completely uniform (less than a degree variation)--they thought through the sun room to the dark north side, the degree of insulation and of glass and skylights, accounted for everything. These people know what they are doing. I can't recommend them highly enough. Don't even bother talking to anyone else I did, wasted my time). McCrea is the best.

Pricing is very competitive. Staff is very professional. Highest quality workmanship I have ever experienced for this type of work. Installation technicians Robert and Alex did a very comprehensive and professional job in spite of encountering unexpected challenges.

the team of Chris and Arthur were fantastic and truly dedicated to doing a great job. they worked form 10:00 AM until 7:30 PM to make sure that all was done well and demonstrated the operations. Greg the installation manager was great on final check and Mark did a great job on the sales end helping us to understand the value of the various options. we would highly recommend the team from McCrea

Both installers Jonni and Ray were informative and professional. They worked very neatly and cleanly. Both were very careful when carrying the unit and tools into the house and upstairs. They took their time to make sure everything was adjusted and operation properly. Both were polite and friendly and answered all my questions. Both men were very knowledgeable and experienced. This has been a very positive and satisfactory experience and I am confident the product is well installed and will provide years of service.

They were great! I purchased the Big Deal, but then I decided to go ahead and purchase a service contract. The technician showed me everything he was doing and was in and out very quickly.

McCrea Heating and Air Conditioning Services of VA was contracted through Lowes to come out & replace our failed heat pump. They were very professional, thorough, polite, courteous, and knowledgeable from the initial consultation with Mike all the way through installation day. This company got the work done very quickly and cleanly. The technicians Arthur & Chris did an absolutely fantastic job! They discovered black mold in the vents and advised us how to remediate it, they also explained that it would be a good idea to install a UV kit to purify the air so it doesn't occur in the future. They used floor coverings, cleaned up the mess and hauled all the old junk away. My wife was very pleased our hardwood floors weren't even scuffed. I'm very thankful for the work they've done and highly recommend them!

They're very prompt, tidy and efficient. Scheduling is easy. One technician in particular is great. He communicates any products that need to be ordered and has worked with us on finding cost-effective solutions.

It went very well. I used McCrea for my business and always happy with them. When my mom needed a new HVAC system, another service provider quoted her $8,500. I was stunned at the estimate so I urged her to contact other providers, including McCrea. She got 6 other estimates and McCrea was by far the least expensive, and for essentially similar equipment. $700 of the price was for the crane rental because the unit had to be hoisted up on the roof of the 4 story condo building. All the estimates she got included crane rental and it averaged $700-$900. So while the crane rental cost was similar to the other providers' estimates, the cost to install the unit was much less expensive. The job was done ontime and so far the system is working very well. She got a Carrier system. My mom says its so much more efficient than what she had before (a 15 year old York system). She said the technicians were very nice and professional too.

Matt M. was the technician. He was very knowledgeable and very polite. We have used McCrea for several years now and we have always received consistent great service.

The whole experience was eye-opening and educational, Chris, Arthur and Greg did an absolutely outstanding job. Right after the truck arrived, we walked through the house pointing out the three work locations for them and unloaded the truck. At this point, the real work started disassembling the old unit and they didn't stop until the work was finished. There were a total of 3 penalty flags thrown at me, by my wife for talking with the guys about what was taking place. My instructions were to stay out of the their way, stop talking and take my tool belt off. Most of my conversations with Chris, who is just an absolute wealth of knowledge was concerning how these systems have to work together in the house, to get the maximum amount of efficiency out of them. Though I did not get to speak with Arthur very much I discovered after their departure that he worked diligently installing the two outside units and tried to take special care not to disturb my wife's flower garden too much. One of my major concerns that morning of the install, was it going to be necessary to run to Lowe's and pick up some carpet protection runners to protect the new carpeting in the basement. I contacted the company salesman Mark and he assured me that it wasn't necessary and the guys would take care of things like that. And indeed they did, drop cloths were put in place everywhere they had to walk and when they finished, everything was clean..... The drop cloths were picked up, there was usually a large cardboard box on each floor they were working on to collect all the trash items. At the end. they carried each of the boxes out, swept up the floors and completed the paper work. Everything was professionally done...... kudos to this crew.

They make the appointment, give you a window of when they will show up, and will even call right before they are coming. They are professional and in uniform.

The McCrea service Tech.(Matt Marfinetz) Arrived on time and started right in. Two unexpected problems occurred, but Matt calmly worked through them and got our furnace back up and running smoothly. Even with the unexpected problems McCrea stuck to their contract(cost wise). Efficient, neat, knowledgeable, friendly, says it all. I would definitly call them again.

Stated that control board needed to be replaced. After technician left, I tightened all cable connecations to board and reseated loose components. It has worked fine ever since.

The service call went very well. The technician, Matt M, was knowledgeable, courteous, and took the time to explain what he was doing at each step.

The sales person was well informed, not only of the product he was selling but of the competition. I was able to easily verify the information he provided on competitor products. There was no hard sell. He gave be quotes of several options in different price ranges. Once i made up my mind, installation was scheduled at my convenience. I selected a high-end energy-efficient system, the more costly of the options I received. The installers arrived on time. The work took most of the day. They worked with me to resolve an unforeseen problem, using my suggestion instead of a more complex suggestion. They stayed until 8 p.m. making sure everything was running property and took to time to walk me through the new controls, and maintenance procedures. The installers were polite, cleaned up after themselves, and were focused on doing the job right.
