Very thorough. After finding source of leak and sealing it, Mr. McGuekin checked out the entire system. He found low Freon and replenished that. He made many, many trips outside to make sure everything was draining properly. During each step of the process he came upstairs to report on his progress and to make sure I approved every fix he made. He cleaned up the wet floor without being asked. He offered me a senior discount without being asked. He advised me about which service contract to select. This company was recommended to me by several other homeowners in my senior citizen development. I was not disappointed.

In the past one of two technicians will show up and inevitably they up sell on some other "critical" item. I have had to have both of the thermostats changed (again, they try to sell you an upgraded thermostat) and myriad other issues on both units.

Scott was great! He explained what he was doing as well as talking to us about how to keep our costs lower. It was educational and now our system is running great. Very knowledgeable and personable. He talked to us about our options and based on the age of our unit he suggested the annual plan. It was because of his professionalism and knowing we'd get that again, that we agreed that would be the best option for us.

Tenant in our rental unit contacted me about the A/C not working. I contacted McCrea on Thursday & was able to get an appointment for Friday afternoon. The $49 diagnostic special was a nice feature. The technician showed up on time and called me as instructed to explain the problem and authorize any additional work. He completed the job without any issues and the a/c was reported to be working fine. Everyone I have worked with at the company was very helpful. Overall, a good experience.

Initial appointment was made through Angie's List deal and I was contacted quickly and had the appointment later in the week. The tech arrived on time and initially thought it was the control card so he replaced that, which didn't help, so he determined it was the blower motor. The part was not in stock so he collected a deposit and ordered part. The part came in a few days and was installed by a different tech and everything worked fine. Unfortunately the person at the office keyed in the bill incorrectly and my credit card was charged for almost $10,000 which was over my credit limit. I was able to contact the office on Saturday of Memorial day weekend but they were not able to get anyone to correct the problem until Monday. Unfortunately the card companies are very slow to reverse charges so it wasn't until later in the week that my account was credited. Luckily I had a backup card and was traveling, either of which would have made this a serious problem. To their credit, McCrea offered a discount and a 1 year contract which seems fair. So I can't judge them harshly since the repair went OK and they responded professionally to the billing problem.

The technician, Craig, was concerned about us being without a/c until a new system was decided upon and installed, and did a fix to our old one that he hoped would hold up for at least a few days (it did - thanks very much!). Three days later McCrea's installers, Chris, Dave and Joe, arrived and did a clean, quick, and no-drama installation of our new Trane system. All this happened during what I know is a very busy time for a/c service companies. Mark, who handles proposals and installations, had to do some juggling to get us taken care of as quickly as he did but it worked out very well for us. The decision to go with McCrea was a good one.

It went very well. I put in the service request on Sunday and got a call first thing Monday morning saying they could come out that day. Dennis was very thorough in making sure he checked everything. He inspected both the inside and outside units and made any necessary adjustments and fixed the few problems I had. He was also very informative and answered any questions I had. I ended up signing up for the twice a year maintenance plan.

The sale and installation of my new heat pump and air handler was an excellent experience. The salesman, Kris Kimmell, was timely, professional and worked around my work hours to get me on the installation schedule quickly. On installation day, the installers, Terry and Jessie were prompt, courteous, and worked extremely fast. The installation was completed in approx 5 hours, which was much faster than I had expected and they made sure everything was clean when they were done. All of the new equipment was explained and they also helped me set up the new thermostat on a schedule. Overall, I am very pleased with the service McCrea provided and I would definitely use their services again.

Our 20+ year old AC unit finally bit the dust, and I purchased a special offer of diagnostics and service from McCrea. When Matt came out, he took a look, diagnosed the issue (low refrigerant), and topped it off. He explained what our possible options were for keeping our rapidly declining unit or replacing it. Given the unique configuration of our air handler (wedged between joists in our front attic) and the condenser (outside in the back of the house), Matt consulted with his team and came back with a quote for the best possible unit for our house, with the best possible SEER rating that would fit. He explained our options based on our construction situation, as well as what our options would be if we chose to architecturally reengineer our joists and ducts. We opted for a 16 SEER Trane system that would handle Virginia summers like a champ, install within our attic without having to do major construction, and provide us with a new thermostat with configurable times and temperatures to aid in our efficiency. We signed on that afternoon, and had a date for install approximately a week later. Fast forward a week, and two wonderful gents arrived exactly on time on a thankfully cooler day and got right to work. Chris and Terry laid down drop clothes, loved on my dog, and proceeded to rock the install. At various points throughout the day, they kept me in the loop on how things were going, what was happening, and any bumps in the road they encountered. Towards the end of the install, they discovered the electrical wiring in the attic was a 120v line rather than the 220v needed. Without missing a beat, they combined two lines in the attic and swapped out the breaker in the electrical panel, all without any addition charges to me, which blew me away. Terry showed me how to program the thermostat and walked me through the instruction book, so that we would be able to get the most out of the unit at the best efficiency. By the time they were done, the house was back in one piece, no dirt tracked in, or insulation on the floor from the attic. They hauled away the old units (wasn't sorry to see those go), said goodbye to the dog, and left a very satisfied household. McCrea stands behind their work, a 1 year maintenance warranty comes standard, 1 year labor, and 10 years parts/comp. I highly recommend McCrea, and will be using them for years to come.

We have used McCrea for over a dozen years and are routinely very pleased with their expertise, responsiveness and economy. No surprise today -- happy again. It helps that we have had the good services of the same individual for pretty much the entire time and look forward to his semi-annual visits. (When he was switched to another service territory, McCrea acquiesced in continuing to have him assist us.)

Contacted McCrea for a quote on replacing both the whole furnace and AC system. They promptly contacted me back and the sales rep was able to come out within days and provided a quote far better than any of the other competitors in the area. Jonni and Ray did the install a week late, they were prompt, professional and great to deal with for the install. I would highly recommend McCrea as well as Jonni and Ray specifically for the install.

Jonni and Ray came to my house to install my new HVAC System. They both did a wonderful job, I couldn't have been more pleased. Very professional.

Excellent. We own a 5 yr old 2600 sq foot townhome and McCrea has been serving the homes HVAC system since the beginning. In fact I think they were the company that installed the system for the builder. They installed a humidifier several years ago and that has worked great during the winter months. They are always great to deal with, very professional but Dennis McGuckin, who has been out several times is our favorite. He is very friendly and knowledgeable and one of their best.

Dennis McGuckin, the McCrea employee called in advance when he would arrive. He was punctual. He checked both airconditioning systems, cleaned out ducts and cleaned up the coils in the airconditioning units. All work was performed very professionally.

On a positive note, there are places like Angie's list now so all the other old ladies out there can read this and not get ripped off!

The two service providers were Chris Frye and Stephen Yates. They were extremely professional,thorough, considerate of not bringing outside mud and dirt in, and went above and beyond in helping me to understand why a certain service would be advisable. What they did NOT do is make me feel pressured to purchase this service. Many times in the past I have been pushed to purchase one option after the other which makes me extremely suspicious. In this case, I felt they were simply giving advice according to the age of my system. In addition, both of them had great personalities.

Went very well. He was very polite and professional and answered all our questions. He checked the system and cleaned up, put the attic stairs back up, and checked the outside unit.

Went great. Technician CHRIS FRYE was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and used booties to not track in dirt (very much appreciated!). McCREA HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING installed our Carrier units 3 years ago & our service has always been excellent. (Our previous technician MATT was our first great tech (& promoted); CHRIS has followed him admirably.)

We were happy with them. We had a good experience with them. They were prompt. He talked to me while he was doing it. I was OK with it.

It was quick they were prompt in coming out after we called them. They were responsive and one person came out.

Technicians Chris, Greg and Dave were at the house for 2 days. Did a great job installing and configuring the equipment. Worked with technicians from the drilling company (not McCrea employees) to run the pipes and get everything pressure tested and running. We were without heat for 8 or 9 hours on Monday, but the heat was up and running by Monday night, and the hot water system was installed on Tuesday without any problems. The system has only been up for about 24 hours, so it will be some time (and a few electric bills) before we can declare victory :) but the installation itself was extremely well done, and I would recommend these folks to anyone looking to do a similar job.

Chris and Mark arrived on time - very professional - installed all necessary equipment (including electrical) - no additional fees from initial quote. And forget the chaps name that provided the Quote - but - he was the most knowledgeable of all the quotes I received. They were also about 2k less than most of the other quotes.

Mr. Dennis McGuckin came to the house. He was very professional and proficient. He conducted analysis on the upstairs and downstairs systems. He corrected the problem and my family is grateful. The house was very cold prior to Mr. McGuckin coming. I am glad to say that we are now warm and comfortable. Thank you so much.

The provider looked at all the issues and beyond. He provided guidance and also willing to help with the service and Heating product. My Furnace capacitor was dead and he mentioned how to change it and can order in due time. He worked around the house and provided feedback on all other ac as well.
