Job was completed in a timely fashion but was, in my opinion well overcharged. The valve replaced is available online for about $125 (and that's high!). They took literally 15 minutes to do the job. I had diagnosed the problem myself and told them what to fix. Ultimately, I paid $300 for 15 mins worth of work on the valve downstairs, and for them to glue (crooked I might add) a P-trap onto a sink in a bathroom that I had roughed in already - and later had to tighten due to their gluing it on crooked in the first place. Bottom line - work was acceptable, but well over-priced in my opinion for the time spent and for the job at hand.
Description of Work: Replaced a single pressure regulator valve coming into the house. Also, finished a drain P-Trap I had started in a bathroom and didn't have time to complete.

Peed arrived promptly and worked quickly. The plumber presented several options clearly. I liked that he looked up prices in a book. Sometimes when you hire a plumber it seems like they're just making up quotes out of whole cloth. Excellent service. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

PEED did a great job. Of the several estimates I received, they offered the best price. Also, while other companies were quick to assume the worst (that I would need a full water line replacement, which of course is much more money), PEED (Bill and Mark) believed there was a good chance that my issue was merely a leaking joint near the water meter. And they were right. In fact, some of the other companies that provided estimates did not even suggest on their own that it could have been a mere leaking joint, which was troubling. In addition, Bill and Mark were happy to answer my many questions and they thoroughly explained the process. As for the work itself, R.L. was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, professional, polite, and friendly. He kept me informed, explained everything in detail, and answered all of my questions. He explained why my current joint failed and why the new joint he was installing would be more durable. He also made sure to put my lawn back in the best shape possible, and thoroughly cleaned up after the job was done (including hosing down the walkway which had become muddy - a task that I bet a lot of plumbers would not do). The one drawback was lack of responsiveness over the weekend. I wanted to get the work done on a Saturday but did not receive a call back until Monday morning. That said, my experience was that most plumbers are hard to reach on weekends, so this may just be a fact of life. All in all, I was very happy with PEED and will use them again in the future.

Outstanding! Peed did the plumbing installation on a new construction home I recently purchased. I have had them out once for warranty work, and once for something that I actually paid for. They exceeded my own expectations both times. It's one thing to get free warranty work, but it's rare with building contractors to want to spend your own money working with them. Peed is the exception to this rule. They have repaired a garbage disposal and a hose bib for me. Both times, I had a very experienced plumbing professional come to my home and know exactly what the issue was, and exactly how to fix it. They are top notch, honest, professional folks. Unlike many other companies who send "new" technicians who have simply completed a training program and have not much experience, the Peed folks are true professionals. I will continue to use them in the future. Carl was my service person today, and he not only corrected the issue, but explained everything to me so that now I will know how things work. I really appreciated this. He went above and beyond the call of duty. It is a pleasure doing business with Peed.

As advertised, PEED promptly sent someone out the same day who did quickly identify and correctly diagnosed two water leak problems. Cost: $60. Unfortunately, things went rapidly downhill after that. The main issue was an instant hot water tank that had gone bad and required replacement. I was prepared that day to make another appointment and get it taken care of. Because it was a weekend, I was to receive a phone call on Monday with a quote. No phone call. I went on line and found the identical instant hot water tank for $185 direct from the manufacturer. After waiting all week, I call PEED. PEED finally came through with a quote: $865! This is for a replacement tank in an existing installation requiring simply re-hooking up three existing lines and plugging it in plus the cost of the tank. Worst case, this is a 30 minute job. Frankly, this had "do it yourself" written all over it -- Until I got under the sink and found that the PEED plumber had left me with a warped copper fitting that had obviously been "overwrenched" and had disconnected a water line that had nothing to do with removing the old tank. In both cases the lines now leak at the connections where there was no leak before. So while ordering the part myself I am way ahead of PEED's prices, I will have to pay another plumber to fix the last guys handiwork. Bottom LIne: My experience was a very mixed bag. Prompt service, accurate diagnosis, but poor outcomes.

Thank you for your comments. I looked into the call, I see that the pricing issue wasn't over come, but please understand that the price included installing of the unit, plus overhead which includes the time you spent looking and ordering the unit. Most of the time our pricing is right for the services provided. Thank you for call us back and letting us finish the installing of your insta-hot. I hope Pat did a good job for you. Contacted Peed Plumbing via e-mail on Friday 7/27 describing my project. Received a phone call within the hour and was offered next day (Saturday) service. I was given a 10 am to 2 pm window and plumber arrives ~1030. After looking over the offending outdoor faucet, he diagnosed the problem and was able to promptly repair said faucet. Plumber was very friendly, courteous and professional. I would recommend Peed to anyone needing plumbing services.

There is a leak and the unit below ours was complaining. The super seemed to think that it was the ring under the toilette, so they changed it. It was still leaking, so they gave up and called us to bring in a real plumber. I called Peed and they scheduled to come in the next day. Everything was done over the phone and email. They are very professional. The plumber was a little late, but it was not a big deal. They are very professional. They identified the problem and convinced the building management that it was not from the unit. All in all, they charged me $60. Great work ! Thanks

This is the second time we have used Peed Plumbing, and on both occasions we had prompt response with a plumber arriving the same day as our call for assistance. In fact, last week, Trevor, from Peed was in our condo building and arrived within 45 minutes to repair our faucet. The first time we used Peed last Fall we had more extensive work done, as one of our toilets began leaking while guests were staying with us and using this bathroom. While there, we asked the plumber, Dave, to also look our kitchen drainlines as we had been experiencing some problems with the drain line that connected our dishwasher to the drain. He made our toilet repair and dishwasher line repair, plus he also indentifed and repaired other undersink drain line problems. As we live in a high rise condo, water problems caused by unit owners not properly addressing repairs within their units is a major concern. We feel confident that the repairs made by Peed Plumbing staff have protected us and the neighbors who live below us.

The existing plumbing in my house was a mess from years and years of renovation and not always professionally done. As part of my kitchen renovation, I hired Jourdan Cooper off Peed Plumbing to clean everything up. I cannot say enough about his work. He was extremely professional, always on time (actually early) and his work was excellent. Halfway thru the project, I pulled the appliance installation from the cabinet providers and asked Peed Plumbing to that work too because I trusted the quality of Jourdan's work more. While the pricing is a bit on the high side, it is worth the money.

We arranged to have them put a toilet in that they had advertised at a convention. Pretty soon, we realized that the toilets weren't going to be compatible with our setup. They switched out two other toilets. When he was trying to put them in, he realized they weren't very stable on the floor. I told them to go ahead. Several months later, we noticed a leak in the ceiling above a toilet downstairs. We weren't sure where it was coming from, so we called out. He cut away from the ceiling and realized that the leak was coming from the drain pipe upstairs. He built up the floor itself with some plumbing, and the situation got fixed.

Peed left a message after each service call to go to their website and rate their service. I did so and expressed my disatisfaction, but never heard from them.
Description of Work: We had used Peed plumbing for over 10 years, but the past three times (in 2008 and 2009) we were quite disappointed. On one call they were asked to fix a kitchen faucet that had a hot water volume problem. We got a bill for something between $150-200 and the problem was not fixed. Late last year we had a service call due to a leak in the dining room ceiling, which is under the master bath. They explored and determined that the leak was coming from the shower floor, and that the whole marble shower would have to be demolished to get to the pan and replace it. We had tlie and glass contractors give us estimates for this extensive work. The entire large shower area would have to be totally retiled after the demolition and replacement of the pan. Total cost would have been in excess of $6,000. I decided that the expense and disruption justified further investigation to be sure this was necessary. I explored the ceiling to try to determine the source of the leak. By measuring and by fishing a coat hanger between the joists, I found that the leak came from the shower control valve in the wall at the head of the shower. I called Peed and the sent someone who made excuses for their misdiagnosis. Then he told me that I would have to try to order the parts myself because the company was out of business, which turned out to be untrue. They had been acquired by another company and continued to service their products. I decided to use another service to do this simple repair. We have called an A rated company from Angie's list for our nextservice

I needed a new water heater; the present one was leaking. They would provide a no charge estimate in person only. Also, no travel charges. "Tony" came; pleasant, thoughtful, knowledgeable. He put on shoe booties. He could replace then and there. Unfortunately, his estimate was the highest I'd gotten (1 of about 6). He did phone his boss to check for negotiation. They were willing to negotiate to the next highest estimate which was still very high.

Peed appeared to start out pretty good. They responded quickly to my request for a quote, and we scheduled a date for them to visit. On that day, I took a few hours off work and waited at home for their arrival. Several hours after the scheduled time, I called to find out if they were visiting. Answer: Yes, it'll be about 7pm. Nope. They called later and rescheduled for the next day. They were accommodating however and scheduled it for after my work hours (after closing their time). On that day, they showed up more than an hour late. The company had called and advised me that the engineer would be late due to a gas line issue he was wrapping up. Upon arrival the engineer demonstrated very professional behavior. He bootied his feet, did a walk around, tested the water, and suggested that I would need a water softener because the water was hard. He approved my suggested installation location, and we proceeded down the road to a quote. I asked him for a ball-park figure as he wasn't prepared to give me a written quote on the spot. (Fair enough). The figure he quoted was outrageous. More than twice other installers and then he followed it up with an absolute ridiculous figure for the softener (5 x the value of a softener with installation kit available at Lowe's/Home Depot) (3.3 x the cost of the softener plus Lowe's fixed installation price). Since this was a verbal "ball-park" figure, I didn't worry about it too much, figuring actual pricing would come on a quote within a couple of business days. However during our conversation, he revealed that it was his "off day", and he just happened to be in the office, and was asked to come out and quote. This was in direct contravention with what his office had told me regarding the engineer being late due to a gas line problem. Interestingly, after he departed, I never heard from Peed plumbing again. I received no quote, no followup call, nothing. I really don't know if the Engineer thought I was an idiot or what, but his verbal quote was ridiculous. The integrity of the company was brought into question by their deception, and failing to show up to scheduled appointments. I don't know if I caught them on a bad day/bad week or what. But once bitten, twice shy. I would not use these guys under ANY circumstances, despite their excellent record on Angie's List. Your mileage may vary of course, but I'd certainly give this company a miss.

Plumber was fine; did work efficiently. Issue is the cost! He spent a total of 1.5 hours & had to supply no parts (or perhaps a couple of washers). Although the house was not still under warranty, since the original plumbing work was done incorrectly by the same company, I'd think they just MIGHT take some responsibility for it. Bill was $352.36! That seems mighty high to me...

I called Peed Plumbing to get an estimate to replace an old leaking water heater. They could not do an estimate over the phone, but offered to have a technician sent to my house within an hour. The technician came on time, did a thorough review of work that needed to done and provided a written estimate within 30 minutes of arrival that included a 10 percent discount due to a coupon I had. I agreed to have the work done the following day. As agreed, the new heater was installed the next day. The work was extremely well done and the work site was left clean and neat. My only concern is that a different brand of a water heater was installed than I thought was going to be used. This is a relatively small concern since there is no difference in the guarantee, and the work done by the Technician was such high quality. I am very pleased with Peed Plumbing. I'll use them for future work.

The entire hassle of replacing the pipes that conducted water to my home seemed very risky and problematic, but these guys did a terrific job doing the replacement. We had some problems at some point, but they came through and responded very quickly. They offered me a warranty with my new water heater, which is very good. I am getting my money's worth.
Description of Work: I had the water pipe that runs from the street into my house replaced. It was about 45 feet long. They also replaced my water heater.
