Window World of Tidewater

Upon finding a coupon for Window World on Angie's List, I decided to stop by their Virginia Beach Boulevard location (I'm more of an "in-person" consumer). I arrived and was immediately greeted warmly by their receptionist who answered many of my questions herself so that I wouldn't have to wait for someone else to become available. As soon as a sales-person was available, he answered all of my questions and offered me options. I was especially impressed that he didn't push an "up-sale" on me. He showed me all of the options that would help me, and kept me within my budget. We scheduled a home visit, which ended up being a good idea, because I had metal windows from 1986 that cost more to remove. I was, of course, a little surprised by this, so they cut me a break by giving me the energy star windows at no additional cost. I ended up getting a quote for 7 basic windows and a sliding glass door which came to just under $3,000 (including labor). This was a FAR better rate than anywhere else I looked (unless you can install yourself). The best part is, they haven't called a million times to pester me into the purchase, they're letting me make it in my own time. Overall, I had a great experience with them and plan on purchasing my windows from them.

Salesperson Charlie C was very informed and took time to explain the product. Crew showed up and each had his job and did it with effeciency. The expansion of Family window was well done. We really like it and it was just as we discussed. Since we are part -timer in the area, time will tell if all remains as it is now. We choose 4000 Series DH, not the cheapest series, middle of the road in price and features. We are very happy with this company

We like windows and the quality of the work. They seem to know what they are talking about. They just did an upgrade and they told us that they are going to give us the same price because we've used them before as an appreciation of continually using them.

They had the best price and the least amount of turn around time. I was able to upgrade to low e for the same price as competitors sale price. Although they do use subs, those subs were very professional and clean. When the work was done there was very little trace of them being inside. Even during the frigid winter I was able to save money on my heating bill with the heat staying inside my house.

The gentleman who initially came out to give a price was most helpful and recommended the type of windows for the porch - there were a few nuances with the job and he contacted the installer to be sure those were handled well. The installation crew had one area were the walls were not square and came up with a creative solution to make the windows fit and work properly. Excellent work, excellent serice, excellent product - we would (will) use them again. A+

Installation seemed to generally go fine. It is now a year later and they are still trying to get one of the doors to seal properly. The litany goes something like this: 1) We need to look at the problem 2) We need to think about what we looked at 3) We'll schedule an appointment to 'fix' the problem 4) We need to look at the problem (again) 5) We need to consult the manufacturer 6) We need to re-look at the problem because the manufacturer doesn't like our story 7) We need to send our expert out to look at the problem 8) This is easy to fix - we'll schedule an appointment After two weeks and my call to them - 9) Oh yes ... let me see when we can fit you in That's where we stand now .. one set clearly leaking air ("door isn't plumb"), the other set exhibiting similar problems ... WW comments (paraphrased slightly) ... "I don't like French doors" ... "this is why I don't like French doors" ... "no problem" ... "we'll take care of it" ... Consistently the installation scheduler has said "I'll call you back before the end of the day", generally because that person could not answer my question(s) regarding status of their repair ... equally consistently no callback and I had to follow up again ... and again ... and again ... Customer Service is dismal. Obviously there's a reason why they're call Window World ... if they ever get these doors installed correctly, I seriously doubt I will buy another set of French doors from WW ...

Very nice door and window. Had issues with Window World regarding the quality of their work. Couple of places where they chipped off wall plaster. Never repaired. Put soil spots on my new carpet which I could never remove. Did not re-install my storm door correctly the first time. Had to go back and forth with management before they agreed to come back and make corrections on my storm door. At first I could not lock the door. Second, Window World removed the weather stripping from the storm door when they removed door to install the entry door. Had major issues with the company to replace the weather stripping. I can lock the storm door and the weather stripping has been replaced. However, when you look at the inside of the door on the right side you see several wood chips. Why? It was the only way to replace the storm door. Looks like H...... Got so frustrated finally decided to just pay them off and get someone to take a look at my storm door. Bottom line: think twice before you call Window World.

Window World was very good. The windows are more expensive than advertised. It cost extra to meet the fed requirements and to have them tilt inward for easy washing, etc.

The installation went very well. We ordered them and they were installed within 4-6 weeks of ordering them. They were very professional and we have noticed a decrease in our energy bills. They are an A+ company and work with you to get a cost and value balance.

The installer was very professional, and on time. The door that he had to take out was not an easy task. The door was old, and he had to level the frame to get the new door to fit. He wrapped the frame outside as well. The only thing that I wasnt too happy with is the fact that he dropped the door when installing, and it left about a dime size scratch on the frame on the inside. The quality was good besides the scratch. I will be use this company again. I think we are actually going to replace all of our windows and this is the company that we are going to go with.

They came out promptly to provide an estimate which included detailed information about their windows, services and warranties. Once windows were ordered, they estimated 8 weeks until installation and I received a call at the eight week mark to schedule installation. Installation date was cancelled twice, each time right before their scheduled arrival. Wish they would have warned me that at times the previous job may run over causing cancellation and that the weather may also cause cancellation. I had to miss an excessive amount of work due to the cancellations. Installation team was very professional, answered all questions and cleaned up the work area. Two windows were broken in shipment which they estimated would take 2 weeks to replace. It ended up being 4 weeks to replace the broken windows. I am pleased with the quality of the windows and all individuals I had contact with were very professional and helpful.

The quoted price was about $3,000. They were professional and the guy who came was dressed professional. I thought the price was a little steep so that's why I decided not to go with them. I was not going for top notch windows; we were just doing the double pane with the Argon gas. He actually came a little early, so I was impressed. Even though he was professional, he kind of bashed the other companies.

These folks were great. They work as a precision team and get the job done quickly. The cleaned up after they finished and the crew chief took the time to demonstrate how the windows work, explain the warranties and other tems. I would not hesitate to call them again.

Even though we had a problem, they stood behind their workmanship. It was a year after the initial installation and they replaced all the windows since they weren't installed correctly. There was no charge for that. We know they stand behind their work and for that reason, we have chosen to use them again to install the sliding glass doors.

Was scheduled for 0730 arrival/start, were here @ 0700, fixed rotted window , removed, installed , cleaned up & were gone by noon. Beautiful/ professional work. Friendly, clean, considerate & courteous, will use them when time to replace French doors!

The windows look fabulous. They cleaned up any mess they made. I'm very pleased with the windows. They were in and out within 5 hours. I can't believe how nice these windows look, I should have done this years ago.

Everything was great. We really didn't have any complaints. They were very up front about the cost and did a good job.

The wait to get them started was about 7 weeks after I signed the contract.once they showed up to do the wrapping it went pretty fast They were done with that part in about 2 days.and did a great job cleaning up after themselves.The second part of the job was 3 weeks later which was installation of the new gutters and down spouts.over all great job.

EXTREMELY WELL - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WINDOW WORLD OF TIDEWATER. From start to finish this was a great experience: -I received 5 quotes total for this job and Window World was the most competitive. I wasn't considering Window World at first, but after hearing about it being ranked #1 by JD Power and Associates, I knew it was a quality product and service. -Josh came out to my home and sat down with my wife and I and discussed the numerous options - was not pushy - and provided advice to help us determine what style we wanted. He even brought a sample window to show me the type of construction I was investing in. -The ordering was simple as well. Window World stuck to the timeline they told me originally and their customer service department was helpful in scheduling the installation date. -Installation crew showed up on time and the supervisor did a quick walkthrough with me and before I knew it they were pulling out the old windows. -The crew replaced all 33 windows, rotten sills, and wrapped everything in one day - I didn't think it was possible. -I am a perfectionist. But, I could not find a single thing I was unsatisfied with - windows look great, wrapping looks great, and even their caulk work is top notch. -They thoroughly cleaned up inside and out and were on their way. Again, I highly recommend Window World of Tidewater. There was no stress involved in this process at all and am completely satisfied - the windows look amazing!

the windows and door are great and the people were very nice and polite and cleaned up perfectly when done. only complaint is I thought I had paid in full but got another invoice when I tried to call the number on the invoice and left message no one returned my call the only way I could get in touch with them was to call the number where they sell the windows, I did owe the amount because they had forgot to include something in original bill but I did not like having to hunt someone down to explain this

Price was comparable to several other companies with similar quality products. Installer showed up at the appointed time and completed the job ahead of schedule. Very professional job from start to finish. Have already recommended the company to several others.

Their contractors are professional and prompt. They were scheduled for 5 new windows to be installed and the crew was attentive, answered all questions and provided knowlegde on their windows. They provide a lifetime warranty, and are convienietly located on the Va Beach Blvd! Would highly recommend them!

Truly exceptional in every respect from initial contact to final walk through. Replaced 23 wood sash windows in 33 year old two story colonial home, installed 5 shutters, replaced two rotten wood sills, and removed and replaced wrapping with the exact match. Crew of 5 was outstanding, (they have been constituted as a team and have been permanent employees of Window World for several years), knew each other well and worked consistently as a team. They wasted no time and essentially did not take any breaks. They arrived exactly on time. Leadman (Mike K was truly professional and highly experienced ) described exactly in detail what they were going to do and how it would be done. Performed initial walk through with me and verified the accuracy of the estimate (made by Jeff W) which had no errors or issues. He kept me informed on the progress throughout. Complete job was done in just under 5 hours. They were consistently very respectful of our personal property and us. Clean up was meticulous - not one scrap of metal found after they left. The final rewrapping and caulking was meticulous and perfect. Final walk through was performed to make sure I fully understood the operation of each feature of the window, completely answered my questions and was totally satisfied. From start to finish there were no 'surprises'! This is an outstanding and professionally managed company who clearly understands the meaning of 'customer service'. AMP

They did a good job. The salesman came out and measured everything. They had to custom-make a few of the windows, so that took a bit longer, but we had no problems whatsoever with them.

Window World would have gotten an "A" except for professionalism. I expected a quality product, a good crew, and quality work. I got a good product and the crew certainly worked hard but the quality of installation and, by extension, the professionalism was not to the standard expected. When I pulled the interior trim off the bow window I discovered that they had not put any insulation between the rough opening and the window. You could see daylight, which certainly detracts from the insulation value since the only thing between the inside and the outside would be the interior trim. As I had the trim off I went ahead and installed insulation so Window World did not get a chance to repair. I fully expect that they would have moved quickly to fix this. I would still use Window World - and recommend them to others - but I would make it a point to check the interior before the trim goes on.
