Window World of Tidewater

Installers were fast, neat , friendly and professional.

I chose to add a Window World of Tidewater (VirginiaBeach, VA) review since it appears to be varying quality of service between different Window World franchises. We had 24 vinyl Casement windows (insert replacements) which were not in their inexpensive category. Casements are more expensive than single/double hung to start with and we added comfort zone package (dual pane low-E argon glass, warm edge glass spacer and exterior insulated frame of replacement), also different color applied to outside which is a significant added cost. We also had two sliding patio doors installed but NOT included in approximate price. Sales person (Peter) was courteous, knowledgeable and actually did final measurements for insert replacements. Order was placed 1/25/16 with estimated delivery from factory of 6 to 8 weeks. Actual delivery occurred little quicker about 5 to 6 weeks. Received call to establish install date of 2/25/16 to accommodate one of their larger install crews. Install was done timely on that exact date which included all 24 windows and two patio doors. The crew was very efficient and with quality experience obvious to me (mechanical background) and took care to do good job. This was a relief to me because of some negative reviews from other Window Word franchises. To this point I am completely satisfied. We are expecting a part to be replaced on one of doors within next few weeks when received (factory error), if that goes as planned all is well.

It went okay. There was a bump in the beginning because we had to get when and how to do things together and then it was fine.

Everything was wonderful! They did a great job! They were very professional and wen over everything with us.

The company was very friendly. They were good at their job. There were some scheduling communication issues, which interfered with previous things I had going on. Overall everything else seemed worked out. They also have some nice affordable financing options available that others companies do not offer.

Roger came and discussed options and differences in their window compared to the competition. I had several other estimates and his wasn't the cheapest but I was impressed by the window, the craftsmanship of the finished product and initially the timing. Although the windows weren't installed on the initial agreed date, there was a delay with the manufacturer. Once crew came they spent a whole day installing and Roger came back to inspect and I thought they did a marvelous job. I would highly recommend. We can tell a huge difference. They are beautiful and the outside work completed around the windows are perfect.

Workers arrived early and proceeded to remove the old windows. Immediately dome followed and inserted the new windows. Each window was cut while group work progressed. All trash was picked up as the work proceeded.

Window world was one of a few companies we looked at to replace our windows, and they were by far the most reasonably priced. In fact, for the same rating of windows they were about $5,000 less than any other company (we have 32 windows to replace). Service and warranty are both excellent as well, and they are able to do the install in a single day (whereas other companies quoted 2-3 days).

Windows turned out beautiful

Very impressed with window world. We were originally scheduled for a Monday but they had to reschedule so they came the following Sunday. They sent several people and it only took a few hours to replace 10 windows. The windows looks fantastic and the guys were very nice. Took about 7 to 8 weeks front start to finish...ordering to completion. 6 to 8 weeks is your average from start to finish so I was happy about that. I think that sometimes people are really impatient in waiting. You want it to be right, not in a rush and be left with a sub par product and installation. I saw on another site people complained about reschduling due to rain. Window world can't control the rain. They have to caulk the outside so keeping it nice and dry is important I'm sure right after installation. You also don't want water in between the window and the frame to either. Office staff was always nice when I called to scheduled and when checking on the status of our windows. So happy to have our new windows! Thank you!

. The crew was punctual and set to work on 2 floors, bedroom door and living room patio doors. There was a failure to plan and communicate to me about their problem. I never did get a straight answer as to what happened. The clamshell molding they removed from the living room for some reason could not be reinstalled, as they did downstairs. Instead they left a 3 inch area of drywall with plastic foam sticking out bordering .both doors in the living room. Then they left. me with this unprofessional and very unattractive mess for the holidays. They showed me molding they could use or I could purchase my own clamshell molding which is more expensive. Either way I was to paint the molding myself. This was November f17, 2015 This was totally different from the treatment that happened to my next door neighbor. She had hers doors replaced by Window World. They used her clamshell molding and left her with a finished product on all three doors. She couldn't believe what she saw they left here. After four calls to WW and other trips to Loews and Home Depo and Taylors to learn about and price molding. I was as frustrated as I was in the beginning of the process. I couldn't get an agreement with Window World to do anything other than cheap. flat, unpainted molding. Finally they returned and installed the, unpainted molding around the doors This was in mid February. I had picked WW as they have a lifetime guarantee. I wouldn't use them again. I would use a company with quality standards and better communication.

On November 10 2014 we contracted a remodeling company to replace all vinyl siding, gutters, downspouts and all trim on our home. On day 1 when they removed the trim around our 22 windows that Window World had installed in 2004, found rot on the majority of wood trim around windows. I called Window World to see if this was covered under lifetime warranty and they said they would send a rep out. I figured a couple days it would take to get someone out there but within two hours the president, Mr. Reed showed up and talked to our siding contractors since I had to get back to work. He stated that he could not determine if the windows were defected or the trim was not installed properly. So he ordered 22 brand new upgraded windows which would take 3 weeks to arrive. 3 weeks later a crew of five workers showed up and removed the old windows and installed new ones in just over 2 hours. The entire job was covered under warrant including labor, not a dime out of my pocket. This did not delay the siding contractors at all! It is rare for a company to stand by their warranty completely especially after 10 years! They will have my business for life! Thank you Window World!!!

The price was extremely reasonable. We are enjoying the windows they fold out and are easy to clean. They are sound proof. About three people came to do the work and they were done the same day. They arrived on time and they cleaned up the mess. The windows have a warranty on them and a couple started fogging up and they came and replaced the windows. They charged no extra for this or for installing the replacement windows.

The service was pretty good, although I thought the price was pretty high, but other than that, it was fine. I disliked that they promised me that they would be ready in 6 weeks, and then did not end up calling for almost 8 weeks, I called to find out if they were done, and then they said that they were here. I had to end up making an appointment with them that they didn't keep.

Had an appt to get an estimate on some new windows. The rep was on time but seemed to just want to get in and out as quickly as possible. I had to ask for brochures on their product, which were left in his vehicle. I was expecting a demo and a thorough presentation to try to win my business, but didn't get either. I wound up going with a competitor.

Extremely professional. All scheduled dates and times were met. The installation team for the double hung windows were in and out in less than tree hours and left no trace inside or outside the house. You can tell that they have worked as a team together for awhile. We were so pleased with the quality of their product and service that we ordered the replacement doors for the garage shortly there after. We had one minor problem with one windows that they took care of immediately. We love the new windows. I have washed them more times since they were installed than the double hung windows with storm windows that we had for 30 years.

They did everything as promised

They were very professional and clean. They were in and out. They had a whole team that came out and basically, were done within three or four hours which was really nice because we had a tenant in there and we did not want to inconvenience her that much. By the time she got in from work, everything was just in place and perfect.

Their product is very good. They both have the quality of the window, operation of the windows and we paid extra for a sheeting that was done that prevents you from having problems with caulk and leaking around the seems. They also guaranteed that and they stood up very well. They do a lifetime warranty on their caulking and their window which is pretty good. We have had some service done by them on one day the casement windows and one of the crank handles wasn't working properly, they were very prompt to come out and replace the crank mechanism. They stood behind their stuff. When they do the work, they have a dedicated crew and it took them half day to take 25 windows out and put in the 25 new windows and get it all sealed up. It was very quick but it was thorough. They aren't the cheapest, you can definitely get cheaper windows but that's not what I was looking for. I fell for the quality of the product that the price was very reasonable. They showed up on when and where and finished when they said they'd be finished.

I called three different window replacement companies for estimates to replace all the windows in my home. First company salesman was very razzle dazzle with heat lamps, window samples and a very long (almost two hours) pitch. Did a lot of bad mouthing other companies. When I told the salesman I was not ready to commit, the price dropped three different times and he was not happy.. Second estimate was more less showy, however, "could contain hidden costs" Little razzle, not much dazzle., Window World salesperson, Charlie, can in, asked me what I wanted, went over options and colors and did a preliminary measure. He was in and out in 45 minutes. After making my decision, Window World came back and did a complete measure, that also took about 45 minutes. Day of the install, of course, it was raining. Install had to be postponed for two days. Actual day of install, large crew came, unloaded windows, removed old windows, wrapped and sealed new windows. All this took about 4 hours I was absolutely amazed. One gentleman even replaced my outdoor spotlight for me. Window World crew was fast, professional, personable and did a fantastic job. they were respectful and considerate of me and my property. I would recommend them to anyone. Job well done!!!!

Everything went great. I was very pleased. When I called them to come back for the sealant, they came back in 3 days & even gave me a card to call them if I had any problems. They cleaned up very well.

The company showed up when they stated and installed both windows. The bathroom window was installed with no issue. The kitchen window had the issue. The grids between the panes of glass was floating loose. I pointed this out to the installer. The issue is everytime you close a door the grids slap between the panes of glass. They have tried 5 times to get the factory to fix this issue. They actual came out 3 times to find the same issue with the new window. They would not install the window just take it off the truck and unwrap it. If this was my company, I would open the window on company premises and check before coming out to the customer. I had to take off from work. They never did fix the issue, I was selling my home and it took over 5 months for all this to unravel. I paid for the bathroom window and they took the charge off for the kitchen window. If you are installing grids between the panes of glass, I would look at other companies.

The service was good. The only problem was that I was supposed to get a permit through Virginia Beach authority. I got a letter in the mail about it, and I found out through my housing association. I called the window company, and they said that the sales rep must have taken care of that, but they hadn't. They ended up taking care of it after that.

Window world rep cam in and measured 21 windows in a timely matter, he didn't pressure is to purchase, and very polite. 6 weeks later the installers came in and changed out all windows with in 3 hours, very clean and professional. They took off their shoes inside the house and placed drop cloths where they worked. Would hire again. Windows look beautiful!!!
