TruGreen Lawn Care - 5730

Elected to utilize a different provider.

For lawn I have used TruGreen Lawn. I would say they are not very prompt. They are prone to showing up on their own time schedule I believe. They don't always let you know when they are going to be there. It is like if they have time they try to squeeze a customer in and they come over. The problem with me is that I have dogs in the house and they are outside during the day if I don't know that they are coming. If I know that they are coming I leave the dogs in the house. The last time they came, they weren't able to go in the backyard because the dogs were there. They are not allowed to go in because it is a front thing if the dogs are loose. They weren't able to treat the backyard the last time they were there because they didn't call ahead. The people in the office and the workers themselves are competent. To a friend who is looking to use this company, I would say yes, I would tell him about the issues but overall I am happy with the quality of the lawn, just a few timing issues to fix, communication problems.

I signed up for lawn care from TruGreen at the beginning of January. It's the end of March and they still have not been out to service my lawn. I have called several times to schedule aeration and seeding and they tell me each time they will get back to me and never do. It's apparent they do not care about my account. About two weeks ago, Trugreen even sent me a circular asking me to sign up. Umm.. Allegedly I am already a customer. Totally disorganized and unprofessional company. Thank goodness I did not pay in advance (~$600 for a year)

After spending the time to come up with a lawn treatment plan, they did not follow up with me in a timely manner.

The lawn looks great. They make my lawn look better.

They did good work and their prices were reasonable.

They are great. Our lawn is looking super great this year. They do fertilizers and greening things. They are very friendly, they are on time and they are knowledgeable. They are a lot of ways you can pay them; credit cards, online and cash too. If you stay with them a year, you get a 10 per cent off on the next year.

The service was really professionally done and done well. The billing was terrible; we sent them payment and it would't get credited, we would send them a check and then it would get lost then they would call and threaten us with collections and then we would fight and argue. So to avoid an argument, to avoid that hustle we would send them another check and then we end up with that amount credited to our account, but they wouldn't send us the first check back after they found the first check we sent them. It was a never ending hustle but the actual guys that came out to do the work were great, they were very knowledgeable and fantastic and administratively they were terrible.

When they come out and do our yard, I’m usually at work. But they will let us know a few days in advance that they’re coming out. Then I’ll leave access to the backyard and stuff for them. The work they’re doing is a big improvement in the yard. I’m pretty happy with what they’ve done. Other lawn care companies are cheaper than them. They charge us depending on what program we use. They come out at the exact day and time they say they would come out.

This is simply about TruGreen as a whole, specifically their customer service, since I never actually communicated or saw any of the local personnel. I signed up for service in May of 2012. I was told that the service was for a full year and would not auto-renew. I just received a call the other day saying I owed over $230 for services. Their customer support was rude and was unable to listen to me. I spoke to a floor supervisor who would not stop speaking to listen to me. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she refused. I paid in advance and made sure to ask if it was for a full 12 months or just the remaining year. I was told a full 12 months. Additionally, I was informed that it was NOT automatically renewing. Apparently I was lied to and now they are trying to get me to pay for the service. TruGreen has horrible customer service and I will never use them again. At no time did they make me aware of the auto renewal.

Profession visits and on time weather permitting. Rescheduled as required. Lawn is much improved.

I will never use this company again. They forgot the spring aeration, which they performed instead in the fall. I really didn't have a problem with that. But about that time, they started billing me for services I did not order and did not receive. Despite repeated phone calls to very nice people who claimed they had taken care of the 'computer error,' I kept receiving bills. The last one was $12 and I paid it under protest just to have it off the books and get my account closed. My real problem with the service is that I feel it did NOTHING (nothing, nothing) to control the weeds in my yard!! TruGreen offers to come back in between applications if one is not satisfied, and I did this at least once. But I saw no decline in the weed population, and perhaps it is even worse than when I started. I used ChemLawn in the '90s and had great results from them. Maybe the EPA now bans effective weed treatment, but my overall opinion of this service is that it was a complete waste of money.

This has been the absolute worst experience with any company in Hampton Roads. This particular office is simply unresponsive. I called them in the beginning of October to start service and the customer service rep told me someone would call me in a couple of days to set up an appointment within the next week. I was also told I will receive confirmation in an e-mail stating my service was started. My credit card was charged about a week later but still didn't receive any e-mails or phone calls. I waited patiently and figured they were probably a little behind. I got a call a couple days later asking if I was interested in starting a service. I explained that I had already purchased etc. He told me ok someone will call to set up your seeding and aeration appointment. After another week of no calls I called the 1-800 number and asked if someone could please come out and service my yard. I was called back by the local company on Friday and they stated they would come out Saturday. I asked about the e-mail detailing the service I purchased and was told they probably wouldn't be able to send it because I purchased it from the 1-800 number. I told him I was transfered to someone local and purchased the service. He then told me they have a new communication system or something. I waited all day Saturday and noone showed up. I called the 1-800 number again (only way to contact the local office) and they said someone will call me back. Someone came over on Tuesday and sprayed my yard with weed killer. I told him I wanted the yard seeded and he said he didn't know anything about it. I called the number again and was told someone will call me back again. I called two days later and asked them to cancel my service. They said I would be charged over 100 for the treatment. I explained I only started the service to get my yard aerarated and seeded. They told me someone would call me back. I got a call 10 days later and was told they would come out and do the seeding. I told them I was no longer interested. He said ok we'll refund your money. Now they only reimbursed me 220 out of 500. I never received anything in the mail or an e-mail stating the service I signed up for or as they called it a and quot;welcome package.and quot; It takes a lot for me to give someone such a bad rating, but this one is warranted. Start service at your own risk...

I have the best looking lawn in the neighborhood. Everything they do helps keeps the lawn at optimum condition. I would rate them overall an A.

We received three treatments from them this year as we were working to repair the yard we were renting before moving out. The front yard was already good and got incrementally better. The back yard had major improvement as they eliminated weeds and helped get grass started everywhere - including a newly seeded area and spots where dogs peeing had thinned the grass. Over the 4 months they serviced we saw major improvements. The back area the helped to kill the weeds and new tenants can decide to seed or not. We will definitely use them anytime we need yard service.

I have used them for about 2 years. They are pretty affordable for the year. They leave you a report when they are done with any recommendations as far as watering the lawn or anything that I can do to help the lawn or plants grow better. I have found it to be a very good service and will use them again in the service.

The first spraying was good but the yard was rough. Our sales rep did a drive by 2 weeks after the spraying and wasn't satisfied with their progress so he called us to let us know he had requested a respray on our behalf. The 2nd spray made a world of difference eliminating weeds etc. WIth their recent spray we are now seeing the grass getitng greener and thicker - very rewarding.

The thing I like about them is that they leave messages to you about what is wrong or what to do. If I am not happy with what they did, they will come back and do the work again.

We have a contract with them. We have used them for a long time. They are consistent and come on a regular basis.

I would recommend them. They do a good job. They call and let me know before they come and they are always on time. They leave notes on what kind of weeds they find and what they would recommend.

They are polite and they say they will send someone else. The job is not being fixed. They owe me two more treatments for my lawn. My lawn looks worse than before they came out.
