 + -1 moreI don't know if there is anything particular that stands out about them but one thing that I do not like about them is that they don't have a schedule to come out and spray; they want me to call them. It doesn't bother a lot of people but it bothers me. I would rather have them schedule it quarterly or monthly and come out. If I don't call them, they don't come out. I have a three year contract with them and I think I paid $500 for it. I would use them as long as I have my contract. I am not sure if I would renew the contract.
Description of Work: I use Southern Pest Control to spray inside and outside the house.

 + -1 moreOverall, they are reasonably priced and do come back in between their scheduled appointments if we call . However, they do not do thorough work. And whatever chemicals they use are not working. I will recommend to try them before entering in a contract with them.
Description of Work: they come spray for Pest. If you are not around they just run away in few minutes. Do not perform thorough work. Even after I had them cone in three times, I still have lot of spider problem and ant problem. Whatever they spray does not work. They do have reasonable price, and come again if we are not happy. But even after coming back, whatever they do is not working.

 + -1 moreI had a rodent problem last year and they have been very good about coming out and setting traps and addressing the issue. They call us each time, come right out, and check everything to see if anything needs to be changed. It is easy to get appointments. They do a thorough inspection to check for termites and anything else. They have been really good.
Description of Work: I use Southern Pest Control for exterminating. I have a contract with them. They come out and do termite inspection. They also come out if I need them for anything else over the course of the year as part of the contract at no extra charge. They have also solved a rodent problem.

 + -1 moreThe experience goes well. We had a hurricane in this area, and there are some rats underneath my home. The other employees have no problem crawling underneath my home to investigate this issue, however, there's one employee that refuses to crawl underneath my home. However, if I want them to take care of the rat problem, they'd charge me extra even though they'd do the same thing I'd be able to do. Overall, they've taken care of my termite problem and I'm satisfied with their services.

 + -1 moreAt first it seemed great, but the company does not come out on a set schedule, you have to call for an appointment. When you call, you can get an appointment pretty quick, but the chemicals used basically did nothing. It would be good for a month, but then the bugs would be back. We repeatedly asked for the guy to spray our crawlspace, but they always sent a guy with a bad back, or who wouldn't do that. To their credit, they often came by when i wasn't home, so they couldn't get in, but I couldn't wait for the contract to be up so I could get someone else. After a year, we still had ants on the house, roaches crawling around, and spiders, silverfish, house centipeades - you name it.
Description of Work: pest control contract for a year of services. Not termite, just ants, roaches, spiders, etc.

 + -1 moreFirst of all they were recomended by my friend,usually thats a good indicator of a good product or service.When I called them out to perform termite and pest inspection they were on time and very professional. During the inspection I pointed out that when I replaced some lumber in my garage I found some active termites in that lumber.I was pleased by what the inspector told me.To start with, this one year termite and pest control contract was a better value than most other pest control companys about 300.00 dollars( give or take some change ) Back to the termites,I surely thought that, well to be coverd for termite protection I would have to treat the whole house.Instead we treated the garage area only for only 200.000 verses 800.00 to 1000.00 for whole house treament.Keep in mind my house ( before I bought it ) had been whole house treated before.I know by past experiece that most companys would have tried to treat the whole house just for the money.
Description of Work: I have a year termite and pest comtrol contract.In addition I treated partial termite in the garage area.I believe I will renew a new contract whene this one expires.

 + -1 moreSince pest control is a continuing service, I look at the overall job the company has done this past year. I notice a definite decline in spiders getting in the house, and the few I find are already dead having crossed the pesticide barrier. I've seen very few ants in the house since they treated the kitchen, so I consider that a great success. As long as I am pleased and comfortable with the technicians that come to my home, and they treat the problems correctly, I will continue to use the company. I now always ask for Mike or Nicholas when calling for service. As for price, I gave a grade of "B" only because I'm not sure how competitive the price is, having no knowledge of other companies.
Description of Work: This is my first year with Southern Pest Control. The introductory first year contract for both termite and pest control was $276. After that, the cost will be $326/year. I plan on renewing the contract. They come out whenever called and treat any problem areas. Living on the water, spiders and ants are a continual problem. I call them approximately every 30 days and have them spray the outside and garage. I've only had them spray inside a few times, since it's now rarely needed. I had an initial problem with ants in the kitchen, but after they came out, I've seen them only once since. For the most part, the technicians are timely and professional. I have dealt with "Mike" several times, and request either him or his stepson "Nicholas" when calling for service. They are very knowledgeable, and take the time to educate the homeowner. They have gone above and beyond in providing excellent service. Overall, my experience with the company has been positive in all areas.

 + -1 moreWe have used them for many years now and do not have a pest problem. I know they have killed water bugs and ants for us. I do not care about bugs outside, so I only have the inside done which seems to be working well for us.
Description of Work: I have a service contract for the inside of my 3400 square foot home to be sprayed. They inspect it once a year and then come out anytime you need them to after that.

Description of Work: They come out and spray, whenever I call them. It's always the same guy (Wayne) that comes, so you learn to trust them. They spray inside and outside very thoroughly and then I have to leave for 2 hours because of the toxins.

 + -1 moreWe're under contract for a year with this company but they only come once a year unless we call them with something specific and then, we have to wait before they come. Because of this, I'm thinking of going back to Terminix whom we had before, since they come every three months. Other than that, they're not a bad service and do the work that's required well.
Description of Work: Southern came last to check inside and outside for termites and other bugs. They sprayed the perimeter of the house and put out ant bait.

 + -1 moreThe thing that sticks out the most to me with this company is that the longer you have been a customer, the less you have to pay. What better way to show appreciation to your loyal customers. They have been coming to my home at least once a year for many years now and I can call them at any given time to come back and spray again at no extra charge. It is great, you can not help but to stick with a company like that! They do a great job maintaining everything and I am glad to have them back every time.

If I ever noticed bugs around, all I had to do was call and they would take care of the problem. They were very thorough and cheaper than the larger company like Terminix.

 + -1 moreSouthern does a good job. I am under a service contract with them that I pay yearly for. Whenever I call them, they come right out the same day and perform the service. They use some type of spray that never leaves a smell. They have also laid bait a few times. They seem to keep the ants away for several months before they come back again. I do not expect them to totally eliminate them. I just expect them to do what they have been doing.
