Precision Garage Door

He replaced the rollers and did the tune up per the big deal. He also told us that my garage door would be going out in a matter of weeks. I spoke with the manufacurer who said that they'd gotten calls from other people saying they had the same experience, and to disregard what he said - basically, he was trying to sell more services than necessary. He came out pretty quickly after I purchased the deal - within a couple of weeks. I felt like he tried to scam me. It was working fine before he came - it just hadn't been serviced in 10 years which is why I bought the deal.

The process went very well, as I was very pleased with the service.

There were no issues with scheduling and he arrived on time for the appointment. The technician was very nice and he did a great job. He told us what he thought needed to be done and we agreed on it. He was very professional. The garage door opens up and down more easily now.

Absolutely outstanding service, from the initial visit to the installation, including keeping in contact from order through installation. Originally used a Groupon for replacing the rollers -- the technician (Jeff) came to perform that service and in looking over the existing 25 year old door, I determined it would be a good decision to replace the door, based on our evaluation and options discussed with Jeff. My wife and I went through their booklet and selected the door style/color/etc., and placed a down payment (also had a military discount and credit for the Groupon I had purchased). They called later and scheduled an installation time. On the installation date, we received a call confirming their estimated arrival time, and when the first technician arrived (John), he quickly took down the existing door and all other hardware. As he finished that, the second installer arrived (Clint) and their teamwork made for an efficient, professional installation! They ensured the door functioned perfectly, installed new bracing for my opener, and showed me the maintenance lubrication recommendations. Their cleanup was spotless and their personable nature was topnotch! We are very happy with everything about this purchase and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Precision Door Service if you want high quality products, expert installation, and have it installed in a top echelon, professional manner! Was easy to schedule a convenient time. Rob called ahead and showed up on time. Work was done quickly and professionally, and he went over the door and safety systems with me to point out areas that would need attention in the future. Rob was also able to repair two bent brackets at no charge without replacing them.

I purchased a coupon to have my garage door maintenance done by Precision - they had done it before,I think 2011 and did a great job so when I saw another coupon I bought it. A technician came out 2/18/2014 and looked at the garage door,the parts,the springs,etc. I have been worried and dissatisfied with my garage door for some time. The door has been in use since the house was built in 1967. I got to thinking about getting a new garage door even though the technician said my door was in good shape for its age. I asked for an estimate for a new one and it was about the same as the estimate I got from them a few years back. I've used Precision for my storm door replacement and just trust them. Mr Keough got together some figures and such and it looked good to me so I told him I wanted a replacement garage door. He said he could do it Friday morning, 2/21/2014. He came at approx 10 a.m. when he said he would,he replaced the garage door. I love the looks of it and I love how quiet it operates. He had the door installed in approx 3 hours - as is standard with their services, no mess left behind - door is easy to operate. I am completely satisfied.

The service was fine and I have no complaints. The work did not last long. The noise came back but he mentioned we needed a new garage door and tried to sell us a new one.

Truly exceptional in every respect from start (the estimate) to finish (the installation). Replaced 10 x 7 garage roller door and installed new Lift Master automatic drive assembly. Great communications with the company; Estimator (Jeff) and installing technician (John) were professional in every respect. I was kept informed on the progress throughout. Installation of final trim package was perfect. Prior to departure, the door operation, future preventive maintenance and instructions on PDS programming (if ever needed in future) was described in detail. Very respectful of adjacent personal property; clean up was meticulous and all questions answered. Showed up on day not scheduled. Performed maintenance?? so he said. It was pouring down raining and garage was full( that was reason for scheduled day) Call company and they did send another guy quickly and he just looked up and said yep those are our rollers and that was it. Door works the same as when I had it done so I do not think it was worth it.

Arrived on time and serviced the door and opener. Installed a keypad. Suggested additional services. Keypad stopped working in April.

Never heard a word. I responded to Angie's query as to whether I'd heard from them several times. Responded in the negative. Still haven't heard from them, but my money was sure taken quickly. It makes me angry that they make an offer and then don't even BOTHER to respond. I have never had contact with the business, nor do I plan to call and beg them to provide service.

They did what they said they were going to do. It seemed like they wanted to up sell, give me more than I wanted. I don't blame them, it is their business to up sell. I asked them to do exactly what I had contracted them to do, and they did it. They were here ahead of time and he knew his business. I would most likely use him in the future if I had use for him.

I think it's hard to judge someone's (or some company's) character and service when everything goes smoothly and as planned. You learn much more about a business when you encounter a problem. Well, we certainly had a problem this morning. Let me start from the beginning... My garage door was broken. The spring was shot and cables detached. The weight of the door without the spring had caused the arm to start ripping through the door and I had done some homemade repair to keep the thing attached. To avoid having the thing slam shut on me or my kids, I knew that it was time for a fix. I called Precision, was able to speak with someone immediately and schedule an appointment to occur within 48 hours. Bryan met me at my house to provide the estimate. He was extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He clearly knows this business and was able to answer all of my questions in intricate detail. I knew almost nothing about garage doors or openers. I'd hoped that rather than trying to sell me on the maximum service, he would give me an honest assessment of the most efficient and economical fix. He did exactly that, suggesting that I did NOT need to replace the opener motor (as it was still working fine) and that I could either simply replace the spring/hardware or replace the door with new spring/hardware. I was so impressed with his approach that I didn't even seek a second quote and proceeded to schedule the replacement of the door. This is where the "issue" arose. I live in a 4 unit condo. When speaking with Bryan, I mentioned that the replacement door must "match" each of my 3 neighbors doors. He said something to the effect of "sure/no problem/absolutely", and that was that. Our installation appointment was this morning. John showed up promptly as promised and was also extremely professional. I set him up in the garage while I went back inside to get ready for work. That's when one of my condo neighbors called my cell to tell me that John would not be able to install the door because the one he had brought did NOT exactly match the other doors. I immediately came back out to discover that the Precision was almost, but not quite, the same. The rectangular pattern was slightly more elongated and less square than the other doors. This does not work for my condo-mates, doesn't agree with our by-laws, and could not be installed. Unfortunately, John had already torn my old door and hardware out of the garage! Even though it was no fault of his, John was very apologetic and began to work with me to solve the problem. He quickly determined that he could not get me the exact same door. He brought Brian, and Shannon from the Main Office, back into the conversation and we determined that I had basically two options. Put the old door back in temporarily and find another service provider that could install the exact same door as my condo-mates, or to put my old door back in and have Precision replace only the spring and hardware in order to make it safe and functional. The second option was the better of the two, but I felt that if I had known that Precision could not match the door exactly, I would have never requested that they do any work for me and would use those funds to replace the door through another company. So... I called Shannon at the Precision Door Office. I explained the situation again and how I felt. She was very apologetic and gracious in offering me a sizable discount on the installation of replacement hardware for my old door. I accepted and my door is now back to running smoothly and efficiently. To put it bluntly, this was a bit of a mess. A simple misunderstanding of the meaning of the word "match" could have resulted in this being a real nightmare, but Precision Door's staff wouldn't let that happen. Ultimately, they?ve fixed my problem and left a positive impression. It?s certain that they will get my business next time I need these services, potentially to replace all 4 of our condo?s garage doors.

Precision Doors answered my call on Monday, and sent out a technician the next morning. Brian called 20 mins out to verify the appointment, and arrived exactly on time. Once on site, he diagnosed the problem immediately, walked me through the various options and cost (short term fix vs. full door replacement). I felt he was open, honest, and not trying to sell me anything. He ended up putting in a short-term brace-fix to the lower section of the door, and honored both my website coupon for a free-service call and gave me a military discount. All future options were emailed to me promptly, and quite honestly, this was one of the best experiences we've had using a local contractor. We are frequent Angie's List users, we found Precision Doors based on other reviews, and we will never go anywhere else for our garage door needs.

This was done very professionally. The installer and their representative were both courteous and professional. Representative knew from the start what our problem was and how to fix it. The installer went over everything with me when he was finished.

When we first moved in to our hose the garage door wasn't flush with the ground on one side, letting water in when it rained. We thought it might be because the house was settling. However, once the technician (Steve) came out and inspected the door he realized it needed new springs and a few other adjustments. Once he was done, the door settled perfectly and we don't have any issues with water coming in! He was very professional, easy to deal with, and stayed as long as it took to fix the issue. We did have to place a 2nd call later and he came out free of charge, fixed the issue, and we haven't had any problems since. We would definitely use Precision again!

After I purchased the Big Deal, they called within 48 hours and set up an appointment. They arrived promptly at the agreed on time, discussed the options, and proceeded to do the work. The job took about an hour, was accomplished professionally, they cleaned up afterward. I am very pleased with their work, and would recommend them.

I decided to replace the doors instead, and they were willing to apply the cost of the first service call and tune-up coupon to the price.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went perfect. They came out really quick after I purchased the deal. The price and the guy who came out were great. He explained everything and it was all great. They did not try to upsell me or get more money out of me. They did just what they said they would do.

Stephen Keough (technician) was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and provided specific details when asked a question. The technician should be commended for outstanding service!
