Precision Garage Door

The company did what they set out to do, therefore it was fine. My rationale for not using them again was that the pricing options that were given to me all included a door, a new garage door. There was not anything wrong with the door. A short while after the service was done, my garage door completely stopped working. I do not blame the service for this. As I said it was constructed with the original condo and was 28 years old. My complaint is that it was not until I spoke with other companies that I learned I did not need a new door and that is when I did not follow up with Precision to replace the mechanism for the opener. It never came up in conversation that this would be an option. I felt at that point the company was trying to take advantage of my lack of understanding and knowledge.

It was obvious that their deal was intended to come in and upsell. I had a garage door that I don't think had been used in years. It just screeched when you would open it. So they came out and looked at my garage door and were like, "Oh yeah. You need new springs." I'm like, "The springs seem fine. You can tighten the springs, right?" "Oh no. We don't tighten springs. That can be too dangerous." I go, "What do the new springs cost?" They go, "$400. Do you want to do that today?" I'm like, "No. Spray the stuff on." He was like, "Alright." So, he just put some silicone spray and sprayed all the joints and tightened up some of the fittings and stuff and then slapped their company sticker on the back of my garage door and were on their way. But, I could tell that they weren't happy. They had fully intended on coming here and upselling me. The price was good.

Quickly. Took less than 1/2 hour.

Garth was the technician that performed the services. He has been the main person maintaining our garage door system since we bought the house. He is a knowledgable, trustworthy, and dependable representative of Precision. This time, in addition to the annual garage door tune-up, he removed my old chain LiftMaster garage door opener and installed a new belt Chamberlain opener with included wired/wireless controllers. Luckily, he was able to use the existing door sensors since they were compatible. (Now I have an extra set of sensors!) The job was completed in under 2 hours with everything functioning properly. Garth was not responsible for the smartphone wi-fi setup of the opener, just the mechanical installation. He took away all the old parts and cleaned up the work area when he was done. Highly recommended!

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Jeff was prompt coming out for the estimate.....actually early :-) Our doors were ordered and came in in a timely fashion. The installers worked through most of a day to complete the entire job. Everything was explained to us concerning maintainance and operation of our doors. They cleaned up all debris, including our old doors. We love our new doors!

Someone had hit them when they were rearranging things in my garage and my door wouldn't close. It kept closing, but would immediately reopen. They came out immediately and fixed it. They knew I would not feel secure with my garage door opened and easy access to my house, and it was making my security system go crazy. They worked me into their schedule and came out late that night to fix it. Their repairman was very kind and explained everything he did.

Garage Door operates smooth , quiet. You can lift it with a finger.

QualityThe service call went well. Rob called and let me know he was about 10 minutes away from my house and showed up on time. After cleaning and adjusting we talked about new rollers. He was not pushy and let me make my own decision. I agreed to the new rollers and am glad I did. Door sound and acts like a new one. Quality service.

Nick was professional and on time. He explained all the different options and cost I had to update my garage door. My garage door was making a lot of noise when in use. He explained it was the motor that needed to be replaced. I purchased the angieslist deal for 89.00 for the quiet and reconditioning. He was able to get the door to stop shaking by replacing some items. I will use in the future when I am ready to replace the motor.

Scheduling was a problem. Their system is OK with an initial schedule, but doesn't handle changes well. To be fair, I changed the appointment twice, but there was confusion about what the actual, settled date and time was. The customer service reps gave me conflicting information over the phone. I was disappointed the driver couldn't change out the gasket on the bottom of the garage door. He didn't have the part in his truck. I assume that the gasket that goes on the bottom of the door is a standard replacement part. Nothing that happened was a show stopper. I probably will use them again.

Excellent service. The tech showed up, checked the model of the opener and left for a few minutes to get the correct opener. Installed it quickly and programmed the controller. Checked that it was working and serviced the other door systems. This the second time that Precision Door Service has been out and we've always been pleased. Thanks!

He (Garth} was exceptionally nice, knowledgeable of his product and explained the mechanics in detail. Was not pushy, but did lean toward trying to get me to install their system on the spot with some savings to include lifetime warranty which sounded nice but the price did not include the motor or track mechanism which would have been additional. May be a great product, but the lift master and door from Virginia Door has served me well over the past 17 years with only one malfunction costing around 200. When the motor and/or pulling mechanism breaks, then I'll consider replacing with Precision Door. Bottom line: the service was great considering the cost thru Angie's and I now have a garage door that rolls up and down very smoothly, so regardless of Garth not being able to balance my existing door, I was very very pleased and would highly recommend them.

Perfect! The worker was there on schedule and replaced the rollers which were causing the door to stick. This was all included in the tune-up special from Angies List.

I purchased an $89 Big Deal with Precision Door. This deal included the installation of a keypad entry panel plus garage door tune up and troubleshooting. This deal was well worth the price! Only twelve minutes had passed between the time I purchased the deal and when the company contacted me to make the service appointment. I was advised that Mike would be at my home between 4 and 6 p.m. on the agreed upon date and would call when he was on the way. Mike contacted me at 4:25 p.m to advise me he was 15 minutes away. He arrived at the time promised. In the time it took me to drive to a local convenience store and back (less than 15 minutes), Mike had already troubleshot and fixed the intermittant issue I'd been experiencing with my garage door's failure to completely close. I'd also had one of two garage door remote openers not working. He'd fixed that, as well. It took him maybe an additional five minutes to completely install my new keypad opener on the outside of my garage door. Together, we programmed the new keypad with my choice of combination. He patiently explained its operation and left me all the materials I needed, if necessary, to reprogram the device myself. Mike was personable and professional. As a result of this experience, Precision has become my Go To company of choice. I couldn't be more pleased with the service call. This was truly a great deal!

We've used them before to balance our garage door and fix a misalignment. This time we had them install an opener. They were courteous, professional, on time, and helpful with questions.

We had company when the garage door spring broke. Fortunately the car was outside when it happened (they would have make and emergency call had the car been trapped inside. We called Precision and the individual who answered was very helpful. Also Used Angie's List to find the provider. Made an appointment and was told the technician would call ahead Nick, the technician, called ahead to say he could come early which worked great for us. Nick arrived as planned, was neat in appearance, polite and professional After he looked at the project and discussed several choices on what to do, he began work and worked steadily until the work was complete. Cleaned up what little mess he made before leaving The door is much quieter and smoother in action. Keypad is a welcome addition. The thing I liked the most was that Nick went over everything with me that needed to be done and the cost. Work carry's a lifetime warranty.
