Description of Work: Painted guest side (1/2) of our home, trim and walls. We plan on using them this spring to paint the rest of our home. Very respectful and professional. They were not the cheapest estimate we received, but we had a better feeling about dealing with this company, especially after reading previous reviews. Use them with confidence, and remember the old saying, "you get what you pay for."

Description of Work: Mike Allen's Custom Painting is a truely professional company that provides quality service and workmanship in completing the painting of my condo / townhome. Work was performed over the Christmas and New Year holidays and was completed within the timeline desired. What was great about this company was that the same, core group to perform the painting came every day, not a new person every day. They were ringing the door bell at 8:00am (as planned) ready to go to work and were finishing / cleaning up at 4:30pm so that they were done by 5:00pm when we got home. You could tell that Mike's guys have worked for his company and each other for a very long time as they were well coordinated in their planning of what was to get done each day and shared a unique camaradrie, not unlike what is found in the military. Mike offered really good suggestions for getting the painting done plus his crew offered several enhancements to make several areas of what was to be painted better than what was planned. All of the crew were respectful and congenial to what we wanted / needed to get done. They repaired holes in walls, cut in windows, doors, and ceilings with straight lines and really took care of the little things that mattered. The best part of it all was the cost. I requested three quotes from three professional painting companies on Angie's List and Mike's quote was significantly lower than the other two painting companies. For the price, I believe I got more "bang for my buck". | Thank you Mike, Dave, Rick, Atule, Chewie, Steve and Blake for doing a great job on our house. Thumbs up! You guys will get a strong referral / review from me if anyone calls to ask on how well you did.

Description of Work: Called Mike Allen on 11MAY and left a message. He called back same day to get some details and make an appointment. I informed him that my TH would not be complete unit end of AUG but I would like to get an estimate sooner rather than later for planning purposes. We agreed to meet at 1:30PM on 14MAY. I arrived at the TH by 1:20PM. I called him to inform him that I was there. No anser so I left a message. At 1:30PM he still had not shown up so I called to ask if he was still planning to show or needed to reschedule. No answer so I left another message. At 1:35PM I sent a text in hopes to get his attention and fin out what was going on. He finally called at 1:36PM and informed me that he had a lot going on and could not make it and that he was booked for the next 3 to 4 weeks and could not take on a nother job. That was fine and dandy but I was not planning to hire anyone until the end of AUG at the earliest which is outside of the 3 to 4 weeks he claimed to be booked. A simple phone call or text message saying that he needed to re-schedule the appointment would have been fine. Not a very professional way to handle prospective clients! VERY DISAPPOINTING since I had to take off from work to meet with him.

+ -1 moreI've used them in several occasions. They have painted mostly inside of my house. It was a very good experience. There was one problem I had with them but that was personal. As far as the work, they showed up on time and they were tidy. The owner is Mike Allen and he is great. They do good work. If you have a problem and you address it to them, they are immediately on it. They listen to you. They are always on time. They give accurate estimates and everything is very professional. They are a good and reliable group in the work that I had. I've used them before and I really didn't check the price with anybody else.

The experience of painting so many rooms at the same time was made enjoyable by the fact that Joe Allen and his crew are highly professional and had a plan to maximize their productivity and to minimize any upset to the homeowner. The crew was punctual, worked diilgently throught the day, then put away all paint and materials so that we could enjoy newly painted areas. We are extremely pleased with our newly painted areas and plan on having this company to do some additional painting in the near term. We have recommended this firm to those seeking a quality painting company and will continue to do so. If we could rate this firm an A+ we most certaintly would!
Description of Work: We had our foyer, dining room, main hallway,great room, kitchen/nook,butlers pantry, master bath and stairwell painted by this firm led by Joe Allen. We had used this company before in 2009 to paint our sitting room and we were extremely pleased with the quality of their work.

+ 0 moreWe were very happy with the work done. Mike has several crews and he drives around throughout the day checking in on the work being done. In our limited interaction, his crew was pleasant and professional. We had this work done before we moved into our home, so we weren't around too much on a daily basis. The job took them 2 weeks. It took 2 full days just to remove all of the wallpaper which was around the whole house. They did very good work, including patching some cracks and nails that were starting to show through from settling. In fact, 6-7 months later, one of the cracks started coming back and a few nail heads were becoming visible again. We called Mike and he was back in a matter of days to fix the problem. He is very easy to get in touch with and very responsive to questions. He really did a good job of keeping us updated. It also doesn't hurt that he was our lowest quote! He came highly recommended with several references who we knew personally. You can add us to the list of satisfied customers. Since then he has been back to do a few odd painting jobs for us and he has always done a good job at a very fair price.
Description of Work: They stripped all of the wallpaper in the house and painted the entire house except for 1 room.
