I've known Jeff. Ever since we moved here, he's done our air conditioning and heating. It is so rare to say you've been with somebody for like 17 years or more but we have been. He's extremely honest and that's saying something when you're looking for an air conditioning repairman or mechanic. It's Jeff's company. It's him and his son. He's hired two new young people. He does what he says he's going to do. His work is perfect. He's very fair and reasonable.

Well, I initially called JT Mechanical to have routine maintenance done on very old and low quality units. I was having problems with rusty water draining from my heat pump upstairs. When I called in the morning and spoke to Jeff, the owner, I was very surprised when he said he could have someone out there that afternoon. Mike arrived, the owner's son along with an assistant and unclogged the drain in the heat pump upstairs and did a routine servicing/inspection. They did a phenomenal job in cleaning the A/C unit on the outside as well. I must admit that I am very meticulous and they didn't miss a thing. They pay attention to detail and do it right, trust me. They then moved on to the gas pack, where I didn't have a problem, so I thought. After getting inside the unit, Mike discovered that I had a cracked heat exchanger. I just had this replaced a little over a year ago. The unit is 12 years old and I now know that two heat exchangers in such a short time is not common. Well, instead of just making an easy 1000.00 to replace the heat exchanger like the first company I had replace it did, Mike actually looked into the root cause of the problem and discovered that the unit was lacking adequate return air and this was causing the premature cracking of the heat exchangers. I was given the option of replacing the heat exchanger again and addressing the return air issue or to stop dumping money into units already at the end of their life. I opted to get an estimate on replacing both systems. What really impressed me is that Jeff asked Mike to take his next service call so that Jeff could come out and discuss options with me. He explained every option and didn't just try and sell me the most expensive units. He recommended what he thought was best. Here is what sold me on this company. They could have very easily came in and simply installed three new pieces of equipment and called it a day. Jeff walked through my home with me and examined the supply vents and discussed the problem areas in my home and his son had inspected the ducting earlier. He even noticed that my bedroom doors were cut too close to the floor and were not allowing enough return air since I keep them closed all the time. I have a 2600 square foot home and there were only two returns. I know now that it wasn't enough. In summary, Jeff's first priority was to address the root cause of my problems then to install high quality equipment, more on that later. So you know, I called 5 other HVAC companies and what I got along with attitude was I can't get out there for at least a week. Not good service if you ask me. Jeff and his team on the other hand exceeded my expectations. Everyone at the company is very polite, professional, honest and courteous. After deciding on system replacement, Jeff was able to secure the equipment and set me up for installation the following Monday. I have owned several homes but have never had to replace systems so I didn't know what to expect. Jeff explained everything in detail. His son Mike and Stewart arrived bright and early Monday morning to begin. Every day they were on time, very professional, cleaned up after themselves and did EXCEPTIONAL WORK! Again, I am very meticulous and I could not find anything that I would have done better. I had new Carrier equipment installed consisting of a Gas Pack, Heat Pump and A/C unit including the addition of two returns and one supply to address the root causes of the problems with my previous systems. If you could see pictures of the shroud they did that goes from the gas pack to the house, you will see what I am saying when I tell you they pay attention to detail and do things right the first time. I did extensive research before deciding on Carrier and one thing I did read is that installation is a major factor in the proper operation and effectiveness of you units. In knowing that, your only choice should be JT Mechanical. The installation was top notch and exceeded all my expectations. Quality work down to the last detail. I could go on for hours but I am sure you are tired of reading already! Oh, one last thing...there is another brand of equipment out there that advertises it's hard to stop. Here is some food for thought....they never got started with me because the price was 5,000 higher than what I paid and in my opinion, Carrier is much better. Just ask Jeff why he sells Carrier, I did. These unit look great and are sooooo quiet! Our home has never felt more comfortable and has never kept such consistent temperatures throughout. JT Mechanical has earned customers for life. If there is any doubt on which company you should go with, look no further and choose JT Mechanical. Their logo couldn't be more true. Took advantage of coupon on Angies list for $29 service call, called in afternoon and Jeff (owner) came out himself same day. Recognized extent of repair and advised we not start that day, as it was after 4 pm on a Friday afternoon. We spoke over the weekend and decided the best way to go with the repair. Jeff was back with one of his people early Monday morning, he talked him through the nitty gritty details and the repair/install was accomplished perfectly. He absolutely is my "go to guy" from now on!

I can't say enough positive things about JT Mechanical even though I did not use their services.

Called Jeff on Sunday about water leak in Laundry room which was secured with faucet off but with three kids the laundry can get nuts. Came out the next day to see what needed to be done and scheduled work the first thing Tues am. Technician replaced the water valve and due to configuration (old house) had to go back and get another proper fitting valve. Still finished up before noon and works great. Added the water hammer valves and everything works and looks great. This was our second time with JT as we previously had them replace outside faucets and main water valve in garage. He has become our go to guy for plumbing and would easily recommend to friends. Fair price and great work. Hopefully we wont need your services too soon, Jeff, but when we do, we will be calling you. :)

I cannot express how pleased we were with JT Mechanical. Our old unit was barely functioning, and Jeff and his son Michael helped us get through the hot summer until we could replace it in October. They are professional and honest. Our new unit is amazing! I would never use anyone else!!!!

I called them around 8 am and they said they would be at my house between 9:15 and 9:30. The doorbell rang at 9:22...can't get anymore punctual than that! :) They troubleshot my gas furnace, crawled under the house to check the duct work, checked all the regulators on my gas appliances, and then left and tried to get parts. They could not find the part they needed - it is actually even hard to find on the internet...I looked! :) They got my system running, placed an order for the part I need, and will return as soon as they get the part in. They were extremely polite, professional, and caring. They put on "booties" over their shoes to protect my floors and carpets when they came inside. I will call them from now on. They have a loyal customer! I highly recommend them.

they came when I called gave me an accurate estimate. they were efficient, knowledgeable, and on time when it was cold and raining. Overall experience was quicker and much better than expected.

While replacing a defective thermostat, both outside units were also inspected, found to need servicing, due to roots growing up into the units. A service call was set up and the maintenance was performed promptly, and he even went out and got wasp spray to take care of a wasps nest he found in the attic! Jeff and his crew are thorough, responsive and very trustworthy.

They were extremely professional and prompt. I was quoted $79 (which is a typical visit fee) on the phone to unclog condensate drain. Once the technician was here, he discovered the drain was also cracked. He repaired the section of pipe and unclogged another drain and did not charge me anything other than the originally quoted $79. Technician was great...he even offered to change the batteries in my beeping smoke detectors (I have high ceilings and couldn't reach them)! I will definitely hire them again and recommend them to others.

To summarize: JT Mechanical has been the best contractor we have employed during the 30+ years we have lived in our home. We obtained seven estimates from Angies List contractors. JT Mechanical was not the least expensive, but they did a comprehensive examination of the work to be performed, provided a detailed, well-explained estimate complete with a Manual J calculation to determine the design of the heat pump system most suited to our home and answered all of the questions I had prepared in advance. Installers arrived on time on the agreed upon installation date and completed their work at the estimated completion date. Jeffrey Thomas, the owner of the company, was present much of the time. His experienced son was the lead installer. The new equipment was unpacked at my home and I inspected its condition prior to installation. Installers were neat, polite and answered all of our questions during the install process. Because the weather was very hot, the contractor set up portable air conditioning in the attic site to relieve heat stress on his employees. This impressed us. Upon completion, we received some instruction on the use of the thermostat. (The instruction book is comprehensive, but is no substitute for on hands instruction.) We were provided with all the heat pump system component manuals and warranty documents. We look forward to having JT Mechanical service our new system when the need arises. The contractor has made several followup phone calls to see if we had any further questions or concerns and to insure we were pleased with our new heat pump system.

Jeff was slightly higher in cost than my present service provider at the time (3-4%) but his approach to my concerns and needs was exceptional. On time, on schedule, price as quoted and, no extra charge for doing it right the first time. JT Mechanical is now my service provider for my home, my business and other rental homes.

We came home from vacation and our AC was no longer functioning. We called three other companies on Angie's List and JT Mechanical was the only company that could come out that day. The technicians came when they said they would, worked diligently, explained the problem and what they were doing to fix it. We were very pleased with out experience.

We have used Jeff and his crew for several years for contracted maintenance and other necessary services. Jeff is amazingly accessible and responsive. I am so glad we have a service provider like JT Mechanical, they are nothing short of the best.

We originally had a service agreement with another firm and I became very suspicious when things started breaking down after they left. The air-conditioner was only a couple of years old, it was new. Basically everything was broken down. The heat was coming up and it needed to be corrected. My husband and I have some respiratory problems. So I called JT Mechanical Co and he told me exactly what I needed to do. I was very pleased with him. He was very honest and above board. Jeff the owner of this company looked at you, square in the eye when he was talking to you about anything. My husband as well, thought very much about him and he followed through on everything he said. So it was well worth the fees for Angie’s List. He did give the discount that was promised. I had a maintenance agreement with the previous company and they had come out for the maintenance agreement then all of a sudden after a couple of months they called saying that we have another visit for another maintenance agreement. But that can be only twice a year. That kind of blew it and that is when I got suspicious. We can’t prove it but when they came to do their maintenance they did something to go ahead and cause problems that we had to call them. We were very pleased with JT Mechanical‘s maintenance agreement, it was what it was supposed to be and he gave the numbers right off the back. Jeff repaired the problem that we had for a reasonable rate. Both my husband and I were pleased with them. Overall Jeff was excellent. He had to kind of go behind and he actually could not say that something was done to it, but he did correct it and fixed it. He was very good and we were pleased with Jeff and his worker. To me it was well worth joining Angie’s List. Now we have a maintenance contact with them and that’s how pleased we were with them.

New Carrier Infinity system 2006 installed incorrectly by another dealer who never corrected air return problems created when house built. As a result lower zone system failed. Jeff came out to check system, did a thorough, I mean very thorough, inspection under the house too. Found the air return problem that was causing the leak in the coil. Jeff proposed a number of if-then scaled solutions as a way to correct the problem without going overboard and keep the system working optimally and healthy. Work was done by his crew with skill and care. Didn't charge too much given what time they spent to work on the unit, including rerouting plumbing. Jeff explained everything to my wife but also called me to discuss the details and offer suggestions. Called back after the job was done. Provided all paperwork to make sure the warrenty on the new coil is in full effect. Evaluated the upstairs system, didn't create more work than necesssary. Came when they said, worked efficiently and cleaned up as if they hadn't been there. Now... we'll see how the work lasts.

They are very reasonable, they’re very pleasant, and they do what they say they’re going to do. They worked with us and what our needs were. They are on time and if they can’t fix it they let you know as soon as they know. The first time they came out they looked at my problem and they couldn’t do what I needed and they didn’t charge me a dime. Originally when they were supposed to be here there was a little miscommunication so I have to give them a B on punctuality.

He was on time and the work he did was very fast. He was honest about the part that he put in and it was a very inexpensive part. He was not planning to make any additional money on it. I would recommend him to anybody who has problems with heat pumps, air conditioning or furnaces.

They came out to provide an estimate, provided an estimate and information about their proposal. Submitted a contract with pricing which was accepted and they said approximately 10-14 days due to the heat wave. We were pleasantly surprised when he called 5 days later to say the unit had arrived and he was ready to schedule the installation. The installation process took the better part of the day but the men were all professional, clean and mindful of my property and space. They did a great job and cleaned up their mess from the job before they left.

My air conditioning unit was cooling but leaking. I called JT Mechanical at 9:15 this morning and was told someone could come out today at 12:30. Other companies I called were not able to be here until tomorrow. They arrived five minutes early and immediately began working on the unit. They were professional and polite. As he worked, Jeff explained what the problem was and gave me two tips on how I could prevent future problems. The unit was fixed within 25 minutes and my house is cool again! Wonderful service.

We've used them before and it was fine. We've known them for years and they did work in a previous house. They are reliable and honest. We've never had any problems with their installation. We didn't get any other bids.

Jeff Thomas was recommended to me by a coworker two years ago when my AC quit during a heat wave. I am so glad I decided to call JT Mechanical. Jeff and Mike removed my old system and installed a new one in two days. They were absolute professionals from the time I called for an estimate, and through the entire removal and installation. Jeff even called after a few weeks to answer any questions I might have and to ensure I was still happy. During his first repair visit I told Jeff I was interested in replacing the entire system. He recommended that I wait until the fall when it was cooler. He did say he would replace it if I really wanted to but never pressured me to do so. Jeff even called me in the fall for a followup. I told him that since I had just replaced the compressor I would wait a while to replace the system. Again, no pressure. In the spring I had another system failure and Jeff got me up and running in no time. This fall I decided to get the system replaced. I was so satisfied with the service, price and advice that I received from JT Mechanical, I didn't even bother to call anyone else for an estimate. During the estimate visit I told Jeff that I was planning to sell the house within a year and didn't want to spend a lot of money. He suggested that with the Carrier Rebates and Govt Tax credit I could get a great system that would make my house more marketable if I was willing to spend just a little more money. Great advice and I took it! Within two weeks of my first phone call, I had a new system installed. I couldn't be more satisfied with the service, expert installation and my new Carrier System. The programmable Thermostat is wonderful and so easy to set up. I can't wait to see the savings on my electrical bill! Do yourself a favor and call JT Mechanical first if you need a repair or are even thinking about replacing your current system!
