I had another company providing maintenance on my HVAC system since it was installed; however, every summer my a/c would go out for 2-3 days which was unacceptable. I changed over to JT Mechanical. They fixed the leak that we apparently had, and I've used them for maintenance ever since. We have not been without heating and a/c ever since.

They did a good job, reasonable price.

Called JT Mechanical after their office hours, but someone answered anyway. Jeff from JT Mechanical was onsite quickly and said it was just a fan capacitor. Extremely professional and polite, did not try to sell other services. In and out quickly. A++++

I called them about noon and placed a service call . They were out the next day and diagnosed the problem and located the correct part and had it shipped in for install the next day. Very personal service and I was pleased with the work and the turnaround time.

We have used JT Mechanical since we moved to VB several years ago and were looking for a service contract on our home HVAC systems. We have maintained that contract and been unreservedly pleased with both the operation of our systems, the periodic service visits, and the occasional repairs. Service personnel have been highly professional and pleasant, and we have since used Jeff's company for all other family properties. For this particular job, the estimate was a bit higher than other bidders, (after researching them, I found were not well-reviewed), but the JT Mechanical team's work was both efficient (cleanup was awesome in the attic) and high quality. I found out that the estimate was higher because the original installation (Sears) of the furnace was improper, and Jeff's team needed to re-install that properly (from vertical to horizontal, to allow for proper air-flow ducting connections) before they could then install the new A/C unit. During the post-repair inspection by the City of Virginia Beach, the inspector me asked who performed the work, and when I told him, he remarked that "they always do quality work." They even installed 2x4 braces to ensure the unit was firmly in place (it was a bit loosy-goosy before), so I have the utmost confidence this installation not only meets code, but now operates within specs. I will continue to use JAT Mechanical for all our properties - Jeff and his team are superb!

Once again, another phenomenal job by JT Mechanical. They installed a 50 gallon Bradford White natural gas hot water heater and it is the most professionally done install I have ever seen. Installation is the most important part of any job and you can rest assured it will get done right when you hire this company. They re-did the stand that the hot water heater was on to ensure proper clearances, re-routed the piping to make it look MUCH cleaner and to allow room for the expansion tank required by the city of Chesapeake and re-did the exhaust vent to ensure proper installation. Every time they do a job for me I am so impressed at how clean, neat and professional the installation is.

JT Mechanical offers the best installation of Carrier Products. They are very trustworthy and professional and do very good work. They followed up after the installation to make sure I was happy with the product and were easily available to answer any question or concern I had. I had top of the line units put in and JT Mechanical is not the cheapest out there but I believe that I got very good value and I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

The company rep arrived on time for the appointment and provided an education regarding all the potential options in addition to taking all the information needed for an estimate. He was well educated and was very willing to share his knowledge and opinions. The actual estimate was emailed to me and was detailed and competitively priced. I did not use this company because I was able to have the existing system repaired and did not need a replacement. When that time comes that I do need to replace my system, I will engage with this company again.

From Jeff's initial estimate to job completion and registration of our equipment, all work was performed in a professional and very experienced manner. JT Mechanical is a family run business which takes pride in their honest, reliable service. We have always enjoyed Carrier equipment, and after researching the current HVAC brands available, we decided to use an authorized Carrier dealer recommended by Angie's List. After interviewing several companies, JT Mechanical was chosen because they seriously reviewed our HVAC set up and gave solid recommendations never mentioned in the other estimates. Jeff's son Mike and his installation team created two superb Infinity 16 seer variable speed systems which both perform efficiently and look great. The team took great care in keeping my house the way they found it; they laid down floor coverings and vacuumed up/carried out all debris. The price was competitive and we will definitely be using them for maintenance/tune ups in the future.

I've been coming to Virginia Beach for 12 years now and I have never seen a contractor more reliable and knowledgeable than JT. They showed up on time and were professionally dressed. They did the job in 2 1/2 days and worked with me all the way. JT wasn't pushy and very patient waiting for me to look into other estimates before I made my decision. They did everything they said they would do and I would highly recommend them. A+ professional service!

Service provider was prompt. Found a problem. Service provider sceduled same day estimate for furnace and AC replacement. I have had this service provider on repeated occasions, all with great service. This service provider is a great educator on furnace and AC. The personalities of this companies different service providers as well as the owner are customer oriented. All of this company's service providers who have serviced my furnace and AC and have been committed to a quality job on each visit. If you are reading my review. Stop now and call you will not be disappointed with the sevice provided.

Jeff, Mike, and the rest of the crew did an amazing job start to finish. They cut and finished an attic access point in one of our bedrooms, installed a work platform for the new air handler, removed and replaced all attic ducts, and installed a new heat pump. From estimate to installation they were prompt and professional. There were there each day for a full 8 hours even in the 90+ degree weather. The job was completed in less time than originally estimated. They took time each day to make sure questions were answered and to update us on progress. We would definitely use them again in the future.

First Class! JT was right on time for the estimate. He actually arrived a few minutes prior to my appointment window. Before we got in to any particulars, he told me that he noticed my windows open and that he wasn't able to schedule an install until early July. With him being so up front, our conversation could have been over b/c I obviously need something sooner than that... but he stayed, and discussed options for me to consider when talking with other companies. He even went so far as to give me a brochure on what his recommendation on equipment would be. Wow. You don't often meet people like that. So, even though we're not doing business together this time, his character and integrity warrants a great review. I will definitely keep JT high on my list for future work and referrals!

It was December and cold outside and my Igniter went out on my furnace but I did not know that at the time so I called them up and he walked me through troubleshooting the problem over the phone then guided me step by step to correct the issue. Excellent! They went out of their way to help me out to get heat back in my house. Very thankfull i called them.

I found late in the evening on the 13th that I had no heat. It was very late, 36 degrees outside, and 54 in the house. I asked if someone could come first thing in the morning and the service that answers after hours took my information and said I would receive a call in the morning. I received a call shortly after 7:00 am and arranged a visit 2nd on their schedule for the day, around 10:00am. I received a call from Mike who was running ahead of schedule and gladly greeted him at the door at about 9:20am. The guys checked out the furnace and explained everything to me that they were doing, provided advice and replaced that part that was causing the furnace not to work. Since my system is quite old at 22 years, he called my attention to a a couple of key parts that looked or sounded bad, and advised that we start planning on a getting new system. I appreciated the great service and I am requesting an estimate for a new system from JT Mechanical Co.

Installation went smoothly they installed the valve for water for humidifier on the cold water line, mounted the humidifier on the return side of the furnace, installed the Honeywell thermostat, and installed the Air Guard. They wired the humidifier to the furnace so that it comes on when the furnace comes on, wired the thermostat with to the 24v source, and wired the Air Guard using the 24v source. There was a little problem getting the humidifier to function but when they left at 2:00pm it was working. I left and returned at 6:00pm and the house was at 59 degrees and I couldn't get the heater to kick in. I called Jeff (JT Mechanical) and he gave me Mike's (installers) phone number and Mike came back out and spent another two hours researching the problem. Mike noticed that the temperature on the thermostat would jump two degrees when the heater would initialized. He checked all the voltages and conferred with Honeywell and was told that it probably wasn't the thermostat. In the end Mike replaced the Honeywell thermostat base and that was the problem. I can't say enough about the service since they fixed the problem right away on a very cold night. I have been running the unit for about a week and it works great. The temp on the thermostat seems to be a little high (2 degrees) but Mike says that can be adjusted.

Fixed the problem for a reasonable price, and gave me some useful advice too.

My first contact with JT Mechanical was on January 28th 2013, when my new heater, unfortunately I didnt have Angies list at the time ( not installed by JT Mechanical) went out. I went to Angies list to find a service company to repair. It was a Saturday and none of the companies I called would/or could come out for the service. It was very cold that weekend, I called JT Mechanical (owner Jeff) came out immediately and a replacemnt part (gas valve) was needed. He was able to get the unit running, ordered the part and insisted I not pay him for his services until his return the next week. I again needed him this summer when our air conditioner went out, again he arrived that day (after working hours) and did the fix for us. He mentioned our air conditioners were old and we might think to replace them. I then mentioned our upstairs heater had gone out so that would need replacing also.Our home is over 25 years old, so as you know these things happen at about this point. He mentioned a special coming up in September time frame. He came out and made his recommendations for replacement of 2 air conditioners and one heater. He worked around our schedule and arrived on Monday evening to sign the paperwork, so they could begin work the next day. He and his crew (4) showed up at 8:15 on the dot (which was the time he gave me) they put on their booties and got straight to work. Jeff's son Michael is wonderful to work with, they did many extra items for us at no charge. They relocated 2 gas lines, one in our attic and the other in the garage. Carrier sent the wrong unit, which was not discovered until after the install (much to our benefit) and because the unit had already been welded we were able to keep the upgraded unit. This unit required a special thermostat, which Jeff purchased and they installed also at no charge. The crew was very clean, respectful, clean cut, put down tarps, took all debris away. I would NOT hesitate to call again or refer them to any and all my family and friends!! I feel very fortunate to have found someone that truely deserves a 5 star rating! Very happy customer.

They are wonderful. They are fantastic. We love them. They know more about our house than we do because they know the history of things that have happened in the past before we were even living here. I always recommend them. They are awesome. We love them. They have been here and caught things that have been a problem, so I feel like it is worth the money.

I called the week of June 20th requesting a quote to replace the furnace and air conditioner for the upstairs of our two zone system. An appointment was made for Wednesday, June 29th. I received a call from a young lady on Thursday or Friday asking if I could change the date to Tuesday the 28th. I agreed to the change. A gentleman came out and spent quite a bit of time looking over the second floor and the existing equipment and was apparently doing an assessment to see what size equipment we would need. He said he would email me a quote in a day or two. Two weeks later, Tuesday June 11th, I contacted JT Mechanical again to see why we had not yet received a quote. The young lady said she didn't know but would have the gentleman call me that evening. I never heard back from either of them.

our downstairs gas furnace failed. After I did everything that I could do troubleshooting (breakers, reset switch) I called JT Mechanical from Angie's List. They were prompt, showed up in a clean well marked service van, were easily identified as JTM employees. They diagnosed the problem as a failed igniter and replaced it very quickly. They were very careful not to track in or make a mess and they cleaned up their work area when the job was completed.

I cleaned the filter and furnace. I scheduled a date for them to come out and they have yet to come. He was supposed to come the next day and instead hi secretary called and told me he wouldn't make it because he was in somone's attic and then told me that if I wanted I could get someone else. I have called 6 times and still no one has showed up. I've hung in there cause the last time they came they did great work. The next day I heard nothing. The day after when he didn't show up the secretary told me that he went out to take a bid. I am very unhappy that they are not responding to my request. I am moving on and giving up on this company. I will find someone else. I think it's very rude how I've been handled. I regret that I gave them the praise I gave the last time they came out since it was his actual son. This is the owner who I am having all these issues with.

Excellent. Came to the house at night to discuss problem and give us estimate. Came on exact date and time as scheduled and finished the job in one day. Owner of company was there during most of the work and all technicians were very professional and polite. My wife was home during installation and she thought the technicians were great. Were so happy with the job they did, we are having them come out to service our second unit. I very very highly recommend them for the job. If I never use AngiesList again, using them this one time was worth it.

We received other estimates and found his estimates to be the most reasonable, he was professional and wasn't pushy at all for a sale. I interviewed three other companies, but found JT Mechanical on Angie's List and glad I picked them.
