Description of Work: They replaced an HVAC heat pump and air handler that was only one year old. Very professional. They took the time to calculate correctly what was needed, identified the problem as well as covering my carpets.

Description of Work: We had our central air conditioning looked at since we were having some issues with it this past week. They arrived exactly when they said they would, and did a very thorough inspection of everything. It ended up just being a filter issue, but we were given great advice on how often to change them (we were doing it monthly because we have animals, but our ducts are apparently small, so we'll do it twice a month from now on). They also told us about other things to keep an eye on, but that everything looked great. Just great service and we'll definitely be using them again inn the future

Description of Work: They installed a Carrier high efficiency gas furnace and air conditioning system. We interviewed a number of companies before meeting with Jeff. He listened to what we were looking for, inspected the house and showed us where small changes in our current ductwork could make the setup much more efficient. He did not rush us and came back with answers to all our concerns. Actual installation was done by Mike and two assistants. They did an excellent job in the attic, building a permanent workstation with flooring. They also built a platform for the air conditioner and ran all outside lines through a custom heavy duty cover. They were neat, polite, and cleaned up each day before leaving. Although we definitely paid retail for this system we are very satisfied so far and impressed with the installation. We plan to use this company for any future service needs that arise.

Jeff gave me a detailed estimate and explained all of my questions (where another provider only gave the total price and could not clarify anything for comparison). They did a clean installation and were very professional. I would use them again and recommend them!

Description of Work: I had great service JT, THNK YOUI called the morning 01 August 2012 expecting the usual difficulty getting a service technician and paying a lot.I was given an appointment the same day. The cost was truly reasonable for the service.The technician tried to help me identify and correct the problem and prevent there being a cost. The technician had me show him the location and asked a few more questions.The work started and the problem was found quickly. He changed my thermostat batteries.Checked the AC unit in the yard.Best of all he ended the service with education.I now know more to look for before calling in the future.The teaching was greatly appreciated.I will tell my friends and co-workers about the GREAT service I received today and encourage at least a contact to JT Mechanical before selecting their servicer. I do not usually go from service to the PC to report. This time I did because the service provided was that good.JT fixed the problem

Description of Work: Amazing service!! Our A/C (heat pump) stopped pumping cool air into our small condo on a Friday morning in the heat of mid-July. We live in No. Virginia and come down about every 2 months to enjoy Hampton Roads and our many friends here. I read good reviews in Angie's List on JT Mechanical so I gave them a call. The owner Jeff Thomas answered and was personally out to our place in less than 2 hours. In fact, he quoted to expect him between 0930-1000 and was knocking on the door at exactly 0930! He spent about 1.5 hours reviewing the system, educating me on my heat pump and likely problems and then proceeded to repair my system (need new capacitor, fan motor and freon, etc.)... Very pleased with his service! A few days later I had another problem with an unrelated issue with the heat pump (MY fault).... Yet he came out on a Sunday evening, spent about 45-60 minutes figuring it out, made a simple repair and did not charge me a thing for the visit! In the next few years we may well opt to replace our heat pump with a new, more efficient Carrier system -- I can assure you we will be calling Jeff and his JT Mechanical Co. team to do this work for us. With his significant experience, expertise, attention to detail and fair pricing -- he is most highly recommended for my neighbors int the Norfolk/Va Beach area!!

Description of Work: It was the hottest week of this new summer season when I finally turned on the air conditioner & discovered that the unit for the second floor wasn't blowing out any cool air. I made the call to JT Mechanical on a Thursday afternoon & was able to get an appointment for the next day, not the next week as other places wanted to do. They sent two very courteous and licensed HVAC technicians to my home who arrived not just on time, but a few minutes early. They diagnosed the problem, gave me some short-term, less expensive options, along with the more costly alternatives, & ultimately repaired the unit, encouraging me to call if I found any more problems. I'd definitely call them again.
