Irish Accents & Renovations

Great. Val Little of Irish Accents and Renovations recently finished up a second bathroom project for us. In the fall of 2019 he converted a pantry space into a beautiful bathroom. We were so happy with the first job he did for us that we contracted him to remodel an existing bathroom. Unfortunately that job got delayed by COVID restrictions so it wasn’t until late summer that he could actually get to it. Again he did a wonderful job. We have recommended him to others, including family members. Maybe better than the work itself is the ease of working with Val. If he says he, or his crew, is going to be on site at a particular time they are there or there’s a call explaining the delay. If we call him, normally he picks up but if not he always returns the call in a timely fashion. His Scopes of Work are clear, his estimates, both for cost and time, are accurate and reasonable. He was able to gracefully walk the thin line between building our vision and following best practices in the trade. He offered many great suggestions but was not adamant about doing things his way.

We had never planned a bath remodel before. We had lots of ideas for getting a bigger shower, more storage and adding a modern bath tub but did not know how to put it all together. Iris Accents took our ideas and created a plan that had it all. They guided us to vendors to get fixtures and helped us select the appropriate materials. The end result was our dream bathroom with everything that we wanted. The Iris Accents team was punctual and flexible about work times. They were organized and orderly with materials stored between work sessions. Iris Accents cleaned up work areas at the end of the work days and had the greatest respect for a joining areas to these work spaces, We have much respect for theses professionals and look forward to future remodel projects with them.

Wonderful experience! Val was great about keeping me informed and did a beautiful job. I’m thrilled with the final product and will definitely use him again. Especially loved how clean they lady my house every day when they left.

We had a couple contractors come over to give us estimates on remodeling both of our full baths and we ultimately decided to go with Val because of his thoroughness, attention to detail and promptness. He was in the middle for pricing but we felt the most comfortable with Val and I'm glad we trusted our gut and went with him! We had given Val a timeline on when we needed the bathroom done and he met our expectations and the results were exactly what I was envisioning! Another thing i liked about working with Val was how great he communicated. He would shoot me a quick text with pictures, dimensions, ect. since he knew I wasn't around my phone during the day and sometimes wouldn't be able to respond until later. Luckily, he never seemed annoyed by my delayed responses! Another great thing with working with Val is that he was reliable and hard working. He was always there when he said he would and never left the house a mess. Lastly, the work that he did was fantastic and we LOVE the outcome! We will be starting our next bathroom soon and are excited to dive in. Working with Val was easy and we had such a pleasant experience!

It went exceptionally well and it was a pleasure working with Val as I made decisions on how best to modernize and expand my master bathroom. The old bathroom was very old, very small, and was literally falling into the crawl space; therefore, it required everything to be gutted from top to bottom, including a wall separating the vanity/toilet from the shower area. Val also discovered some "dead" space behind the shower wall which he was able to use to expand the bathroom space. All messes were cleaned up and contained and my property was respected so there was no negative impact of the remodel on my other living spaces. Val updated me regularly, offered advice on best practices when I asked, and communicated clearly any additional choices that became possible as the work progressed. I would highly recommend Irish Accents based on Val's professionalism, knowledge, quality of workmanship, respect for time and property, and integrity.

It was great working with Val Little and his team. We had never done anything like this so he was really good at taking our ideas and adding his experience to help us obtain the results we wanted. The finished product exceeded our expectations. There was a lot of tile in the shower area and his installer did a wonderful job. He was able to match the tile in the shower floor with some built in niches for a very attractive accent. This asks if we would hire Irish Accents again. We actually already did. We were so happy with this job that they will be remodeling an existing bathroom sometime after the first of the year.

We renovated our very outdated guest bathroom that needed a lot of work!! We could not be happier with the new amazing bathroom Val totally renovated!! It was a small bath to begin with and he walked us through every step of the transformation!! From the initial consultation to the finished work it was seamless. Val and Kenny did an excellent job even cleaning up every day to ensure we were not inconvenienced by the normal “renovation mess “ that comes with all home projects!! The quality and attention to detail were impeccable and flawless. Val was able to coordinate with other contractors for counter tops, shower doors and tile supplies!! It was absolutely a pleasure to work with Val. He is very thorough and will make sure the job is done properly not “patched”. We have worked with a few other contractors over the past few yeas and I wish we found him earlier!! He was honest and upfront with the costs of every step of the renovation. A bathroom project is not something that one would typically call fun, but this project was exciting, creative, and yes, fun. The approach that Val Little takes is one that allows for high involvement in the creative process, so that you, the homeowner, end up with precisely what you wanted... only better than you imagined it would be! Val is a stickler for details, and he cares about building great relationships with his customers as well as an outstanding bathroom. He kept us in touch with progress each day, and he left the work space clean each evening. We got three estimates before we started this project and we called references for all three; his customers were beyond enthusiastic and persuaded us to hire him. Now we feel the same way! We intend to hire Irish Accents again for future projects.

They took an outdated space and created a spa-like oasis. They removed a closet to give us a beautiful tiled shower and we added a tower between our two new vanities. Val added several thoughtful touches, including installation of an outlet in the back of our vanity cabinet for my hair dryer. He actually has an eye for design and helped with that aspect as well. He made suggestions that I would not have considered and helped us design the bathroom we wanted, but didn’t quite know how to create ourselves. I would absolutely recommend Irish Accents. Everyone was professional and friendly. I felt comfortable with them in my home, even when I was not there. The result was a brand new bathroom in nearly every way, and we love it! Val had done a bathroom for my parents and it was beautiful. So when I needed someone to hang the new cabinets in a laundry room , I called Val and he agreed to do even though it was a small job. I plan to use his company to re-do a bathroom in my house also.

Based on recommendations of friends and reviews on Angie's List we hired Irish Accents (Val Little) last spring to renovate our master bedroom. We were so thoroughly impressed with their workmanship, attention to detail and honesty that we hired them this year to update our dining room, front hall and great room. We wanted to update from the heavy look of stained woodwork, and particularly heavy looking crown moldings to white woodwork and a lighter, updated appearance. We also wanted to update our fireplace surround. All went extremely well. Val and his colleague, Kenny, take pride in their work and set a very high standard for themselves. They removed the old baseboards and crown moldings, and installed new woodwork in its place. They prepped and refinished some trim, chair rail, stair risers and stringers. They removed the mantle, and demo'd the raised hearth. The mantle, woodwork and marble hearth were so carefully removed that they were donated to Habitat for Humanity. They also removed the wallpaper in the dining room, prepped and painted the walls in dining room and great room. I have included before and after pictures of the mantle and a picture of the dining room and stairs. Also Val and Kenny noticed some damaged plaster work in our kitchen on a vaulted wall and repaired and painted it without any additional charge. Kenny is a skilled and the repaired area cannot be detected. Note: Val's estimates are labor only but he will work with you on purchasing materials.

Went well... took longer than expected or estimated partially due to the holiday season and some of our own changes. But, kitchen looks great and Val and his team were great to work with.

Val Little and his team did a quality job, on time, on budget while also minimizing disruption for me and my wife. The team did a good job of cleaning up after each day's work. Val also was very responsive when we asked for updates or changes. He's first rate at communicating with the customer and he delivered us a beautiful bathroom.

Val and his crew did a nice job with our two bathrooms, and both spaces were absolutely transformed. We even had some issues with tile and grout after the job was done, and Val agreed to return and make things right. This was a theme throughout the project; when things didn't go as planned, Val took the time to work with us to make adjustments. Val and crew did demo on both bathrooms. They took out and replaced a tub, installed two new shower systems, rebuilt the tile enclosure for a stall shower, installed new wall and floor tile, lighting w/dimmers, and fans. They also installed mirrors (one recessed), along with a floating double vanity and a pedestal sink. A new closet with sliding doors was created in one bathroom—built from wood with care, not pieced together from low quality particle board. Val handled all demo, framing, plumbing, electrical, and even installed most of the accessories like towel bars, etc. Worth noting: Val’s employee Kenny did a beautiful job with the tile work. Both Val and Kenny were professional and trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. Overall we’re very happy with the outcome. Not a pain free process, but Val helped us find solutions, every time. We had a few issues around design choices and some install decisions, but generally things were fairly seamless, and we're super pleased with our new bathrooms.

They did an outstanding job. We had our tile, vanity and toilet replaced. It all looks and works great. They also did extensive carpentry work on the subfloor and woodwork. Val and his staff are punctual, professional, clean and very nice. We are very pleased overall. We would hire them again and recommend them to others.

It was great! Val and his team were as trustworthy and helpful as they were patient. And the bathroom really looks great. As to whether or not we would hire them again, as soon as the master bathroom and hall bathroom were finished, we hired Irish Accents to do the upstairs bathroom as well.

Outstanding from start to finish. I had a complete bathroom renovation to include shower installation with tile, fixtures, shower door; bathroom floor leveled and tile installed; vanity installed; all new ceiling lights and all new fixtures to include moving electrical outlets, etc.; toilet replacement; painting and installation of new trim; and installation of towel rods, mirrors, etc. I could not have been more satisfied with their attention to detail, professionalism, and timeliness. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

Val and his crew has renewed my faith in VB contractors! I have gotten totally screwed two consecutive times in the past 2 years and was reluctant to try a third time but I mean I had to lol soo... A big rain storm came thru and ate away at some of the brickwork at my rental property and we thought it was going to be something small, a quick fix. Much to our surprise when the dry wall came off it was covered in mold and the wall framework so super soft and spongy, apparently I bought a house that the previous ppl just covered up crap. #badnewsbears. The original estimate was appropriately adjusted and was honestly less than I was expecting. I live in DC and work so can’t just drop and go so we agreed on an initial face to face to deliver the deposit check and work started soon after. Even with the additional work required he finished almost within the original time frame and I was impressed. He was SUPER communicative, which is what bit me with the previous ppl, so this is a HUGE plus for me, being out of the area and all. He sent photos every step of the way and daily updates via text and email. My tenant was super impressed to she was V E R Y reluctant to let someone unsupervised in the house, and rightfully so, but towards the end she would just leave work or have someone let him in and he would lock up behind him. Her overall approval just added to mine and I plan on using him for EVERYTHING I have planned. I am sooooo glad I found him!!! An added plus his Irish accent just makes bad news sound so much better lol but all joking aside; if you are looking for a trustworthy, communicative, fairly priced, and overall awesome contractor then look no further!!!

Great. Removed the spa, vanities and toilet. Changed location and size of shower. New tiled floor and shower including granite bench seat . Required closet to be moved. Replaced and changed existing baseboard and trims. Replaced all the lighting and water heater. Also painted the walls , window trim and baseboard and window. This was done by the contractor, Val Little and his sub-contractor, Kenny, Both were very professional and they were there every day until the bathroom was completed, less one week while Val was on a family vacation but even that week , Kenny worked. It took approximately 5 weeks to complete. Granite was placed in week 5 and the shower glass was put in a few weeks later as they could not measure for it until the granite was installed. We are completely happy with the design, work done and the total renovation. I know that if anything else needs to be done, Val will come and take care of it. Val and Kenny were so good to work with. They listened to our ideas and did what we wanted but also helped us make decisions for items we did not know about. Also they suggested different ways to do the remodel and explained why.

Very well. Mr. little made the structure look just like it did when it was new. He was very reliable and finished up as scheduled.

Val was great. We had water damage to the drywall and trim next to our shower in the master bathroom because the shower hadn't been sealed correctly. I called Val on Monday morning to get an estimate for repair to the drywall and trim as well as recaulking the shower to ensure no more water leakage. He did not answer when I called but immediately called me back. After explaining what we needed he asked if I was available later that day for him to come by and *****. He came by that afternoon to look at it, explained the work that needed to be done and had an estimate prepared and emailed to me the very next day. We were then able to schedule him to come out on Friday. He was running behind schedule on a previous job that morning but he kept me updated the whole time. He did a great job repairing the drywall, painting the wall and trim and recaulking the shower. The area looked like it did when we moved in and he left everything clean when he was done. We still had the paint that the builders used for the walls and trim so he was able to use it to match what we had and when he was done he put the paint back in the garage where we stored it. I would definitely hire him again if we needed other work done.
