Description of Work: The people with HVAC are great. Knowledgable, curtious, friendly and answer all your questions without making you fell stupid. Hvac has done several jobs for me over the last 6 years. I have always been pleased with the work they have done for me and never had any issues that weren't resolved quickly and professionally.

I chose HVAC Warehouse after speaking with 5 companies. I chose this company largely because I liked and trusted the owner Jessie. He was knowledgeable and I felt for certain I was in good hands. Unfortunately I can not say everything went well. On the first day of installation I asked for model and serial numbers of the equipment so I could register with Goodman. After I registered, I looked up the equipment on line based on serial numbers I was given by one of the servicemen. As it turned out I was given the wrong serial and model number for one piece of equipment they had installed. I had to contact Goodman to re- register the appropriate equipment. The next day the two servicemen came back to finish the install. Near the end of the day it was discovered that a leak had occurred in the bedroom that caused the ceiling to be stained and sag. I tried to reach Jessie and he did not return my call, instead he had the Installation Manager, Shawn Ford, call me. Mr. Ford lined up a person to do the drywall on an agreed upon day. The drywall man did not show up at the time we agreed upon. I called the Installation Manager, Shawn Ford, to find out when the man repairing the drywall was going to finally arrive. Mr. Ford said to me I was a pain since they started the installation. He went on to say, I asked too many questions and then he hung up on me. I was speechless. The men who repaired the ceiling did a nice job, even though the ceiling has not been painted yet. Several days had passed and I noticed the AC was not holding the temperature. I called HVAC office and a repairman was sent out. He found some installation in the fan motor that must have accrued when the the installation was put back in the attic. All this has me wondering if I would have had so much frustration/ aggravation had I chosen another company. I trusted the owner as a retired policeman. However, he never over saw the lousy workmanship of the less then satisfactory work of the employees he sent to my house for the installation of my heating and cooling system. I had many interviews with other companies and was so upset I decided on this one. I had problems again with the system this spring and it seems to be fixed now. I hope so. Very disappointing.

They were very helpful and did quality service. I didn’t like that they missed the first appointment with me. They called up when they were coming and the second time they were fine. The staff was good and very professional. The part was pricey, but the labor was fine.
Description of Work: HVAC Warehouse did diagnostic and some repair work in our air conditioning and heating system about four or five weeks ago. He gave some estimate on some work that we might do in the future.

Overall I have the exact same system, and I'm out $300 in freon charges and service fees. I asked someone in my electric motor class that i knew was in HVAC. he offered to at least come take a look. He checked the charge and it was ok, he said that it was overcharged in freon as to why the AC stopped cooling and that the tech probably just released freon from the system to get it working again. Then he went upstairs and as soon as he open that attic panel he said it feels cooler then an attic should feel (still felt hot as heck to me). and felt around and discovered missing duct work tape allowing a nice stream of cool air to escape. I gave him some towels to shove between the wall and duct to stop the flow until we could tape it up. Since then my house has been a cool 72-73 degrees. So after he told me that you should never have to re-charge a system that's only a year old I got a little disappointed. I put my trust into someone know there field and doing good by me. So i rightly asked for a refund on the freon charge. I didn't ask for the service charge to be refunded as it is what it is. The freon charge however should never have been an option as the only way to "troubleshoot system any further" per the note on the work order the tech left. He flatly refused to refund the freon charge and told me to go after the guy who installed the system. Doing the right thing is obviously not in their best interest and so I strongly advise you to pass on these guys!
Description of Work: called them on 7/13/11 to check on AC as it was not cooling house to the set temp. The AC is only 15 months old but it was keeping the house at around 76-78 during the day. Tech came out, first he checked the charge on the unit and said the charge was OK and circled it on the work order.. He preceded to go upstairs where he noticed that the filter was full and probably need changing (it was the higher end 3M filter and lil over 2 mo in place). He said as soon as he removed filter he could hear the air start moving. He figured that was the problem and collected my CC info for the service fee and departed. The house didn't cool 1 degree until the sun went down. I figured system had to catch up. Next morning house was cooled to *72 just like before, but as day went on it crept up to 74/75 cooler then before but it was still acting as before, but figured with new filter it probably wouldn't go above 75. and a few days later another hot day comes and we hit 77/78 again, so i called the HVAC company again. The same tech showed up next day to get to the bottom of it. He comes to the conclusion that the TXV is starved and needs freon. I was taken aback when he said it needs freon, when last time he said it was OK. But he's the tech and I dont know jack about hvac. Under his "Professional Opinion" I went to the atm and gathered the freon charge. He was done when I got back, he said the output temp had come down a few degrees. I said greatand I gave him the money and he left. As we had a family day planned we all left soon after as well. We returned home to find the house at 86 degrees. I quickly called the hvac company back to be told they'll call the tech and get back to me. Next morning No phone call and $50 in fans later, i called them they said they have a guy out there shortly. About 10 am a new tech showed up and was outside for about 20 min. He came back in and said he got the system cooling again. He said he'd have to tear into the system to get to the bottom of it, and that he can do it if the landlord wanted to. After he left the system went back to its regular ol 74/75 self. better then 86 degrees.

This entire job was quite challenging, as the house was built in the 1940s and initially we did not realize that a lot of items were not to code. The city inspector required them to bring the electrical and other items to code, even though they were not a part of the contract. Jessie at HVAC Warehouse did this, at no cost to us. When the system was removed and prior to the new system being installed, they even provided alternate source of heat to the tenants. We were very pleased with their work, and the units work great.
Description of Work: We have a 4 unit apartment building with radiators and boiler in basement that took up mostly the entire space. Each apartment has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, livingroom & eat-in kitchen. HVAC Warehouse installed new heating/AC in each apartment. This job included draining and removing the existing radiators, installing ductwork in every room, installing the returns, sealing the insulation in the basement, taking out the monstrous boiler and hot water heater, upgrading the electrical, installing the new heating/AC sytems and installing a new water-saver tankless hot water heater.

This was not a pleasant experience for us, but overall everything at long last seems to be done to our satisfaction. There were many phone calls about the following problems along the way: unclear contract that didn't include all the things we discussed beforehand crazy placement of the Rinnai meter crazy placement of the a/c unit outside unfinished removal of old furnace, leaving pipes exposed that clearly should have been left in the wall not putting up many of the vents crazy placement of some of the vents messy plumbing job, leaving toilet opening too far from the wall (leaving a gap) leaving garbage all over the back yard (which my general contractor had to dispose of) not letting us know that we have to open the plastic top over the drain pipe ourselves (we thought we didn't have a drain pipe installed until our wonderful general contractor pointed it out) financing plan that would have cost us exorbitant interest (around 28%) In order not to make more problems for us or our contractors/other workers we did not complain about the following: -awful attitude from Milton the plumber, who is nice as pie when Jesse is around but a major pill when he's not (Negative, can't do this/that; Jesse's attitude is "can do," however). -they (particularly Milton) made things very difficult for our other workers because of their attitudes In the end, they made things right, usually pretty quickly. Our whole family grew to despise Milton. On the other hand, Katie and Theresa in the office were wonderful to work with, but things got a bit "testy" between me/husband and Jesse at first, due to what I will kindly call a lack of clear communication between us. However, Brian also was terrific and very quick to make things right when junior workers messed up anything. So now in the end, everything we bought from HVAC Warehouse seems to be working fine, placed where it should be. We're pleased with the Rinnai and all the other new HVAC components. The company is, in general, reliable and it is a real business, and, for better (Brian and the ladies) or for worse (Milton) it's not an individual you'd be working with if you choose to go with them. They all really do want to do things right, especially the boss, Jesse.
Description of Work: Removed old heating system and replaced it with new heating system, central air, and Rinnai tankless hot water tank. Jack-hammered and plumbed for new toilet in laundry-room area. Installed large sink in laundry room area.

Great work. Company got overloaded after the NorEaster and had to use a sub for electrical. Did not like the sub, but the regular crew came in and made things right. Best Air/Heat system out of the seven homes I have owned. Very friendly/professional company. Good to the military. This is the only company I plan to do buisness with for these services.

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Middle of winter and I was stuck with no heat due to my heat exchanger cracking. One of the 2 owners came to bid the work himself. He spent a couple hours and addressed all my concerns about the existing system, ducting, and vents. After he departed I thought to myself that whether or not the price was competitive, I was buying some great customer service. The same owner and 2 techs came out a couple days later and worked in the rain to install the new gas pack. THATS WHERE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ENDED. Pros: 1. I had heat back within 2 days Cons: 1. I had to fax their own quote sheet back to them 2. The company called me on speaker phone and when I asked to be taken off, the owner replied "what, do you have something to hide?" 3. Poor communication within the company. 1 day 3 different people called to verify my telephone, address, and email 4. The intent (discussed with the owner) of change the return ducting location was to free up closet space. I guess technically there is now more space in that closet. 5. I had to patch and insulate the holes in the ceiling from the old ductwork removal myself. The tech was nice enough to lend me some tin shears though. And, he did provide a small piece of metal. I was literally doing this while he was working so I didnt have a wind tunnel through the house that night. 6. I had to remove all the old ducting and insulation. The tech did help with most of the ducting but it still sits in my yard waiting for trash day. 7. There is a trench between my gaspack and foundation outside. Perfect for rodents or rainwater runoff. See pictue. 8. No quality control or quality check. No mgr/supervisor looked at the work. 9. Scheduling to come Wed afternoon translated into 6pm Thu. I should have billed them for my time. 10. I specifically told the company to call prior to coming which they didnt do, twice. Bottom line is if the owner had stayed engaged with the work, I probably would have been satisfied but when he (Jesse) isnt on the job, its a circus.
Description of Work: Replaced gaspack unit outside. Shortened existing ducting inside and added a register.

Install went well. Owners and all employees were very professional - with the exception of one (Charles - answers the phone at the main office; he dropped the ball twice in two days; ask to speak to Teresa instead). I am unhappy with one result of the install - the old hot water heater was inside the house, but the tankless hot water heater was installed outside (next to the natural gas outlet); although the new tankless hot water heater works fine, it now takes 90 seconds longer for hot water to reach it's destination where needed (ex, washing machine, master bath shower). Our first water bill was increased by $15 -- so much for the savings we're supposed to see on our gas bill.
Description of Work: Replaced 31-year-old gas furnace with 95% efficient gas furnace; replaced 31-year-old AC unit with new AC unit; and replaced 15-year-old gas hot water heater with gas tankless hot water heater.

A previous company that had installed the heat pump had secured it with duck tape and that had to be removed because it had come loose and was blowing all our cold air into the attic. He changed out that problem and used the proper materials so that it wouldnt happen again. He was a really great guy.
Description of Work: Our heat pump went out and the owner actually came out and looked at it. He added a pound of freon to the heat pump outside, and he only charged us for half a pound.

These guys were great! They arrived on time and stayed until the job was done and the area was cleaned up.(messy, rusty oil covered old unit) The price was almost 1/2 of another estimate and about the same as the 3rd but I felt comfortable from the very beginning to the very end with this company.
Description of Work: We purchased a 2650sqft home that had the original forced hot air oil heating system with central air. The home was built in 1972 and we got on getting estimates to replace the system immediately. We moved in the last week in January 2008 and had the previous owner leave us with 100 gallons of heating oil. The oil ran out in 3 weeks! That was a Monday night and we already had the estimates done and were planning on using HVAC Warehouse to do the job but needed to upgrade the electrical panel as it couldn't handle the new system. I called Jesse Marlow and informed him of our situation. His company installed the new system and the new electrical panel the very next day! I had already picked up all the electrical supplies as a good friend electrician was going to put the panel in with me but he couldn't get to it for a few more days. I had also already pulled the permits. The guys from HVAC were very professional and stayed till the system was up and running which was about 10:00pm. The new system is a Goodman 14 seer heat pump (no more oil) with a variable speed blower. We used $450.00 worth of oil in 3 weeks and our electric bill was $176.00 for that month. Since the new unit has been installed our highest electric bill was $139.00! That was last month and it was hot so the AC ran a lot. Now we did also replace the windows but they don't account for most of the savings as most the neighbors still have the old oil systems and are crying about their bills. This unit will pay for itself in about 1 year! That's assuming the old system didn't break down.
