Great experience! Mike was available quickly to come out and we received an estimate within 48 hours...awesome. Also, reasonably priced - we did get multiple estimates. We decided to move forward with Home Solutions, Inc. The staff were friendly and professional. The plastering and painting are perfect. Half-way through the door installation, I was unsatisfied with the height of the new threshold. Mike came out full of good ideas and we found a solution the next day. The door was finished to our satisfaction - it is beautiful and compliments the age of the house. There was quite a bit of back and forth communication about our job; because we were supplying the paint and because of the need to re-work the door. There was potential for ruffled feathers - but all went very smoothly. The tradesmen who worked the job were respectful and genuine. The quality of their work was excellent. When Mike E. came to inspect the scope of work to prepare and estimate, I told him what kind of door I wanted for the garage and provided him with the manufacture info on doors that I had seen at Lowes & Home Depot that would work. When the estimate arrived, it specified that Home Solutions would supply and install foundation vents and the crawlspace access door, but only indicated installation for the side door. When I questioned, I got a revised contract indicating that they would provide the side door as well, and I was told that the work would take 1 day. On the day the work was suppose to be done, I received a phone call from the office informing me that they were not able to get the crawlspace vents and that work would have to be done later but they would be able to do the crawlspace door and the garage side door. The crawlspace door was done without any problems or issues. The side garage door... 1st issue was that the handyman installed the wrong door. It was a 9-light door, which was the style of door I was trying to get away from. This necessitated additional phone calls between the handyman, the main office and myself before the correct door was obtained and installed - one of doors that I had originally specified. However, the door did not appear to be straight, and the handyman said he would be back the next day to correct the issue. When I called the office the next morning to see if that was still the plan, it was the first that they had heard that there was a problem, and Mike would have to come and check it out first. It would have been nice if Mike had spent more than 5 min at the door because if he had, he might have wondered why the board underneath the door sill didn't extend the entire with of the door. We later sent pictures of paint stirrers going through two 3 in x 1/2 in gaps under the door sill to the Home Solution office. So, Home Solutions sent out another handyman (a different Mike) who realized that the reason the door didn't hang correctly was because the short board under the sill was causing it the sill to bow. He pulled out the door and reinstalled in correctly. The crawlspace vents were replaced about 2 weeks later, without incident. I have used Home Solutions/House doctors before and was satisfied with their work. However, after this experience, I will ensure that the estimate contains more detail regarding what is being supplied and specify how frequently Mike E will be coming by to check on the job progress.

First it took a very long for the owner to come out and give me a quote. The worker removed the old door and was preparing to install the new door. I noticed that the wood that the threshold rested on was rotted. I asked about replacing it and he said that he wasn't planning on replacing it. I asked if he could and he replied that he didn't have the supplies. I thought it was important to be replaced since it was in such bad condition, so I ran out to get the supplies that he would need. He did replace it. He did a good job installing the door, but I was unhappy with the trim on the outside. The reveal that went around the door was uneven. On one side it was an eighth of inch and on the other side it was a quarter of an inch. I showed it to him and he was hesitant to fix it. His initial plan was to take the trim from the right and rip it down so that the reveal was the same, but that would mean that the trim would be uneven. Since that was unacceptable he was hesitant to fix it since he would have to take most of the trim down to fix it. I'm not sure what he did once I left, but fixed the reveal. He did it so quickly that there was no way he did what I asked him to do. He also removed a window which in the end I was happy with, but he didn't want to do any of the finishing work. He asked me if he had to sand down the drywall mud. He was planning on leaving the drywall unfinished. I asked that he leave the drywall smooth so that I can paint it. After he was done sanding he asked if he could borrow a shop-vac since he didn't have one. He found one. He vacuumed up some of the sanding dust, but it was everywhere and the wall was covered. I had to go back and clean everything. He took the window with him and I wanted to keep the door, but left nails and saw dust everywhere on my porch and a mess around the window outside. I should have followed up on this before he left, but I didn't notice a lot of until later in the day. I was also surprised that nobody called from the company to make sure I was satisfied especially since I was a new customer. I have a ton of other jobs that need to be done, but I won't hire them again.

I have called them. They have not done the work yet. They were scheduled to do it this afternoon and I just got a call from them. They will not be able to do it this afternoon because the gentleman that was going to do the job got tied up on his job and they are supposed to come tomorrow morning. I received the quote the same day that they came out. They sent me an email. I was pleased with it. I just went with them. I didn't call anyone else. I had given them some dates to choose from. They chose today. However, the gentleman that was supposed to do the work was delayed on his other job. The one who owns the company himself came out and looked at the work to be done and then went back to the office. At first I was only going to have him do the window and then something was mentioned about the gutters and I asked if they do that work and he said yes and so he figured that into the estimate as well. When he sent me the quote on email, I was able to get that the next day because I don't have access to email at this address. It went well. The work has yet to be done.

We sent him to my mom's house but she had someone else do the work. We would have used him but she used someone else that was referred by a friend.

This company provided excellent communication and was always on time. The work was done just as requested and looks great.

I was looking for a company that provided the services they said they provided. The reviews on Angie's list were for for the most part were very good. Although they listed the areas in which they worked and mine was not one of them, I emailed them to see if they did work on the peninsula. Sad to say, no response was ever received. I'll now go with my second choice who also had favorable ratings. Sorry Home Solutions, if you can't answer a simple email through your link on Angie's list, I'm going with the other company.

Better than anticipated. Jeremy did a great job. No mess and it did not take as long as I thought it might. Very happy with their work and would use again if opportunity arises.

This is the second time I have used Home Solutions and I continue to be well satisfied with the services provided. The staff at the office was particularly noteworthy.

The tub/shower enclosure juts out from the rear of my house along with an area for the water heater on the other side of the shower head wall. It had suffered water damage from a leaking skylight and the tub was old and needed replacing. Mike Esposito surveyed the damage, did his research, and gave me a quote the next day. No quickie in home quote with "allowances", no quote with exclusions (you supply the materials we'll do the work), a real quote! The quote was not the lowest or the highest, it was the best. We negotiated the details and this is what they did. Sealed off the area from the rest of the house and removed bath tub, plumbing fixtures, ceramic tile on walls, sheet rock walls, sheet rock ceiling, cedar siding, sheathing, roofing, wall studs, vaulted ceiling rafters, and old hot water heater that refused to drain. Modified the plumbing in the head wall and ran a new electrical circuit from the panel. Installed new whirlpool tub/ shower enclosure, plumbing fixtures, glass doors, studs, rafters, sheathing, vapor barrier, insulation, siding, roof, shingles, solar light tube sky light, sheet rock, paint, exterior water faucet, and hot water heater. But, no partridge in a pear tree. All this was accomplished with experienced timing, excellent cleanliness, and without compromising security daily. It has been 9 months since they finished. I have no problems and still remember the experience fondly.

I am an extremely picky customer, BUT this job went very well. Mike, the owner, came to assess the work to be done and in 48 hours had an itemized estimate. He gave us the freedom to schedule the items and order in which we wanted the work completed. The workers we very professional, they respected our living environment, were very clear in their explanation of each task and maintained clear communications with their office. We were not required to make the final payment until we were absolutely satisfied with the job. I am so satisfied that we will use them for our next project.

Office called each morning to let us know what time the workers would arrive. Each person working for Home Solutions, Inc. was friendly, courteous and receptive to answering layman's questions. They cleaned up each day and acted professionally the entire time they were here. Mike, the owner, came by several times to make sure everything was going as planned and he came by the day after the job was completed to be sure we were happy. We would recommend Home Solutions, Inc. to anyone and its not the first time they have done work for us. We will continue to use them in the future when needed.

Owner came out and gave us an estimate. Price was reasonable and went on with the repairs. Originally the workers attempted to just cover the drywall damage with plaster. The estimate stated that the damaged drywall would be replaced. We contacted Mike, and he had it corrected when the workers returned. We are pleased with the corrected repair. The total job took 2 days and we paid half on job start and half after job was completed and inspected by us. The lack of professionalism comes from the person who hounded us for the final payment. They seemed more concerned about when we were going to send in payment than if the job was completed to our satisfaction. I completely understand that timely payment is part of business, but this company went too far. We gave them a credit card number to use if we did not send in the remaining payment. They were calling before I even returned from work on the day the work was completed. I did not even have a chance to look at the repairs and the lady was badgering me about when was I going to send in the money. I told her I would mail it the next day, and she wanted to charge my credit card instead. They continued to call us everyday while the payment was in transit. We do not control the US mail service, and if they needed the money that bad, then they should have made arrangements to pick it up in person. Repairs completed correctly, but make sure they are done correctly before giving final payment. Disappointed in the lack of professionalism.

Home Solutions Inc. did a nice job and I will be calling them again in the near future for some more remodeling. I told them what I wanted. We talked about it and they gave me an estimate. The prices weren't that much different from other companies, but you kind of get a vibe from the guy you're talking to during the estimate process. You wonder if he's someone you can deal with or somebody who's going to give you a hard time. It's a personality thing that is often the tie breaker, for me. And that's why I picked them to complete the job. They do good work.

This job went very well from estimate to completion. It was a very good experience.

I had been searching for someone to change out all my exterior lighting on my 2-story home and pool house area. I contacted three Handyman companies. All three scheduled appointments to come house for the repairs and all three were "no shows". Then I found Home Solutions Inc. From the initial conversation, with a lady named Mary, I knew I had found a top quality Handyman company. She listened to my need and acted promptly upon my request. The owner, Mike Esposito, spoke to me regarding the cost and personally assured me he would take care of lighting right away. Within in 2 days he had a service man from his company at my house and all the lighting issues were taken care of. I am very pleased to have found a Handyman company with such integrity, One that does what they say they will do and at a reasonable price.

Overall the job went well. The lattice work was not included in the deck restore. In the future I would make sure the price included the lattice.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal, which covered some of the cost of this job. The workers were prompt, professional and did a good job.

They came when they were supposed to and did what they said they would do.

Called for estimate. Mike Esposito, the owner, arrived on time and provided an estimate. Adam, the technician, arrived on time, was polite and courteous the whole time he was here. Very friendly. Adam set to work as soon as we showed him where the work was need and where the electrical outlets were. Adam worked steadily and did an outstanding job. He bought everything he needed for the project with him including tables, saws, planes and sanders. He hand-made both the rails and they were much more solid and esthetically pleasing than what we had envisioned. They also matched in their basic rail design. Both fit the overall look of the house. When he was done, Adam cleaned up what little mess he had made cutting and sanding the wood for the rails. I received a call later in the afternoon to see how the job had gone and were we satisfied with everything which we were. Both handrails are rock solid and provide that extra sense of security coming into or leaving the house. This was the second time I had used this Home Solutions

I was very pleased with the work that was done.

It turned out great. He helped me put my bathroom back together and hang up a TV.

Pretty disappointing; never did find a compromise project for which he would bid.
