Jimmy was a blessing to work with. He came in and gave me the most affordable quote on site. He was always respectful and made his dead lines as promised. I wish all contractors could be like jimmy and his team, professional, honest and in time.

Jim is very fast and steady worker. He told us what was happening and the next step as well. Jim is neat and tidy. Jim answers my questions to my understanding.

Jim answers phone calls and texts. He shows up on time and does the work he says he will do at a fair price. He came a took measurements, then went to the retailer to order the proper door; all I had to do was show up to the retailer and make payment. The door was a unique size and he got everything right. This guy is a craftsman, not a handyman. Would hire again no question.

Jimmy did an outstanding job and we are very pleased with the outcome. Originally, we were only going to do the downstairs entry way and along the steps but Jimmy offered a very fair price to add on doing the 2nd floor landing so we decided to do that too since we would eventually have done it anyway. Jimmy was very professional, courteous and listened to what we had envisioned for the job. It was not an easy job as it required a great amount of calculation and planning due to the various sizes of the walls, the angles of the stairs and the requirement to maximize the placement of seams such that any visible sign of them were minimized. He really did masterful work and ensured that any visible seams were filled and sanded such that they would not be seen once the primer and paint was applied. It looks gorgeous! Jimmy's skill as a carpenter were evident. All the joints, butts and trim pieces fit nice and tight and his measurements for the layout of the raised panels were spot on. He was very pleasant to work with and we enjoyed having him in our home. We will definitely use him again for future carpentry work.

Jimmy was outstanding. Third time we used Jimmy and never disappointed. Completely remolded existing staircase that need desperately to overhaul. Beautiful solid oak. Crown Molding is next. You will not be disappointed.

Very well! Jimmy started at the agreed time/place, the work was completed on time and within quoted price. The quality of the work was tops, all joints,miters and cuts were all tight and correctly done. All work was indicative of a master carpenter.

Jimmy was quick to respond to my request, came out to give me an estimate, and then completed the job in a timely manner. He did an excellent job at the repair, which required milling some custom pieces to fit into my existing carpentry. I would use him again for other work, and I would recommend him to others.

Jimmy answered the phone when I called and came out to give me an estimate the next day. He scheduled the work in two days. He had purchased the section of gutter and had the equipment to bend the flashing and repair the rotted wood.

Jim designed the master closet and put it in. It looks great. He put in shiplap in the master bath and bedroom and both look beautiful. He is a competent professional who brings creativity and mastery to the job.

GHI (Jimmy) is spectacular, a true professional who performs master carpentry level. the baseboard and shoe molding is tight and better then original baseboard that came with the house. In addition adding the the finished wood around all downstair entry ways is phenomenal. This is my second time using him and I am just speechless. I'm looking forward to our next project. Professional done with the highest degree of attention to detail.

Jimmy Koehler from General Home Improvements (GHI) arrived Monday, 15 May on time as discussed and commenced working. Jimmy began by replacing the fascia board directly above the front porch steps and then proceeded to replace the frieze board on the right side of the porch. We had discussed replacing the left porch post, but Jimmy was able to repair it and saved us money in the process. On Tuesday, 16 May Jimmy finished the work on the porch, including priming the new boards, and then moved to the back deck. He replaced the side board on left side of the back door leading to the deck with a composite board and then moved on to replacing three deck boards that had rotted. Upon removing the board Jimmy discovered that some of the support boards underneath had also rotted and we ended up replacing five boards, which entailed removing the right side of our surround privacy partition that we had installed when we had a hot tub on the deck. In the end Jimmy had to remove two more deck boards for a total of five and then replaced the support?bracing underneath. The fifth board had to be ripped due to the space was about half of what the other boards measured. Since we were not putting in another hot tub Jimmy asked us if we wanted to open up the space and he built an addition to fit/mesh in with the other railing section. The work was excellent and the deck looks great. Jimmy Koehler is truly a Master Carpenter. If you want cheap then GHI is probably not for you, but if you want outstanding quality craftsmanship and a Master Carpenter to complete the work, for a good value, then call GHI. Our original agreement was for $800.00 plus materials. In the end, due to the extra deck work we paid $1400.00 plus $233.00 for materials for a total of $1433.00. In the future I will call Jimmy Koehler for all of our carpentry needs.

Great. Jim was very honest upfront that once things were torn apart particularly with the age of our house there may be additional work needed to repair wood if there were any wood rot issues. He does great work. Inspected a couple other areas of the house and gave expert advice.

GHI was incredibly responsive. They showed up on time on the decided start date, proceeded to work at a pace I've never seen from a contractor before, took the time to explain all of the work that was being done and the finished product was amazing. Happily working in my office now and can't wait to decorate such a beautiful space.

We live in windsor woods during a 2016 flood of the area. Eighteen inches of dark water entered our home at a alarming rate. Everything two feet an below had to go. We were overwhelmed an tired. Jim arrived like a breath of fresh air. He truly wanted our home to look good an saved us money every chance he had. He always arrived on time an called to reassure us at our most insecure times. He took time to teach me how to paint, bringing me supplies to make my jobs easier an professional as well. He works very steady is tidy an completes the job. My kitchen cabinets are on order an he is installing them as well. I would recommend him to my children an every one else. He has a sense of humor an likes dogs a real plus in my book. I say do it right the first time an save money an so does Jim.

Working with Jim was great. I had a general idea of what I wanted and worked with him to get the design I wanted. Between our two work schedules, it was a challenge to coordinate the initial meeting due to my distance from home. Jim was very understanding and managed his schedule to work with my time constraints. He returned all my calls in a timely manner and added a great deal of value to the overall design. The pantry is just what I wanted and the price was within my budget. I will gladly call GHI again for more projects.
