They have great customer service. There were a whole lot of problems with my electrical and they took care of it. They were just really on top of it. Mr. Cole, the president and owner, was really personable and I liked him a lot. If I have any other electrical problems, I will use them in the future. The price was great.
Description of Work: I used Cole Electric to completely upgrade my electrical panel and added in grounded circuits. They upgraded some of the sockets to GPFI outlets because they were not in code and they did that for free.

Absolutely Superb! I called to get an estimate (After calling several other companies & to date, still waiting on call backs) Scott told me he had a team in the area and they could be over that afternoon for an estimate. They arrived (as promised) and in addition to providing a free estimate; accomplished some of the minor electrical work! I spoke to Scott that evening; he provided a thorough and detailed explanation of the pending work; made a strong recommendation that both accomplished my need and budget. He told me the crew would arrive the next morning and they did not disappoint. All work was completed as promised and on-time. Thank you Scott, Bob and Joe.
Description of Work: Upgraded Panel Box with interlock to accommodate emergency portable generator. Identified and corrected improperly wired ceiling fans in two bedrooms, installed/retrofitted several receptacles and one cable outlet in my residence.

perfect - contacted Mr. Cole with need for service. He asked if my needs were immediate, since they were not, he requested I send my contact information to him via e-mail. Next day he called to see if it would be convenient for his electrician to come within the next 90 mins. His electrician (Joe) was on time, pleasant, polite, and informative. He diegnoised the problem, and made the repairs. It was nice doing business with Cole Electric.

Scott set up a time to do the work when it was convenient for me. Robert supervised several workers who did a very good job in a short period of time - which was important because I had no power while they worked. After they finished the install Robert was very careful to make sure I understood how to use the Generator interlock. I was very pleased with my overall experience and find Cole Electric very recommendable.
Description of Work: I had a breaker box fire shortly before Chirstmas. I called Cole late in the evening after the fire department left. Scott Cole promptly answered and offer to come out. I felt the situation would be okay until morning. Robert Cole came first thing the following morning and replaced the problem breaker. While working, Robert noticed an unrelated loose connection in the box which had caused an undiagnosed light-flicker problem for years. I was impressed by his observational skills. Robert recommended replacing the 30-year-old box because the other breakers would fail as more time passed. Also the old box no longer met code. I had been wanting a whole-house surge protecter and a generator interlock, so we set up an appointment for a new box with the additional ammenities.

After the bathroom had been repainted and the light fixture updated, my husband decided to add a dimmer switch. Unfortunately in the process, an adjacent bedroom stopped receiving electricity .. no light, no alarm clock... I called Cole Electric on Thursday. Mr. Cole came to the house Monday morning. He was a little late, but he had called ahead and I had assured him that was no problem. He quickly diagnosed the reason for lack of electricity in the bedroom (faulty dimmer switch installation in the bathroom) and fixed it in minutes. Very professional and no mess left behind. I would definitely call Cole Electric again.

Scott Cole runs a terrific organization. He always answered the phone himself, or called you right back within thirty minutes. He came over, gave us an estimate, told us how long it would take, and finished the job ahead of schedule. The work was great, and it is obvious he is a man of character and integrity. He is first on my list if I ever need more electrical work done.

Crew called the day before to confirm morning appointment. Crew arrived nearly on time, reviewed work to be done, and began work immediately according to a previous work proposal. They worked efficiently and professionally to get the tedious job done in a reasonable time frame, taking about 5.5 hours from start to finish. They had to cut holes in 3 different locations (all inner closets, not visible on outer walls) to accommodate inserting new wiring. When finished, they patched the holes with plaster and smoothed it over to match swirl design on existing plaster around them. All items moved prior to work were replaced in original positions. Since they put drop cloths in every area they worked, there was little to no clean-up required. They cleaned up, asked for approval of work, shook hands with us, petted our puppy, and left. Excellent, friendly service. We are so relieved to know there is someone we can trust to call on in the future!
Description of Work: Wiring and installation of light fixture and switch in large storage closet under stairs. Wiring and installation of light fixtureand switch in walk-in kitchen pantry. Wiring and installation of track lightingand switch in laundry area. Wiring and installation of receptacle on wall at foot of stairs. Wiring and installation of receptacle on wall on first landing of stairs. All work had to have new wiring inserted from other sources in the home.

The technican's work was excellent. He was curtious, prompt and the price was fair. After trying at least 5 other electrical companies in a house with old wiring, we have finally found the company we will stay with for life. They know what they are doing and the price is right.
Description of Work: The technican found a short in the garage that was flipping the breaker switch when it rained and also tried to replace an ancient doorbell in our 80 year old home.

Thank you for your positive response. We try to give same day service while still staying within a minimum service call . Outside outlets can affect the indoor circuit they are connected to resulting in a loss of power to garage , bathroom or even bedroom/living room wirings. GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter ) protected circuits are used for outlets located near water sources such as kitchen or bathroom sinks or outside to prevent the current from flowing if a shock hazard were present. The garage outlets should be protected due to the fact there is usually a concrete floor with the potential to be barefoot plugging something in with a direct path for current to flow to "ground" via the slab, also a lot of people plug extension cords into garage outlets to work in the driveway, vacuum cars, etc. Moisture enters an outside outlet even though it has a weatherproof cover due to the gasket shrinking after time. When moisture shorts across the electrical connections the GFCI trips usually in a bathroom or garage outlet closest to the panel or a GFCI breaker in the panel. I'm glad we were able to take care of it and look forward to helping you in the future should you need us. Take care ...

Work has not been completed. Initial inspection was completed, however contractor never followed through with job.
Description of Work: I contacted Cole Electrical at the end of August for an estimate related to replacing a residential fuse box. Mr. Cole was very pleasant on the phone and was able to come out to inspect the fuse box the next day. Mr. Cole was prompt for the initial appointment and was very professional. We agreed that I would contact Dominion power to have them survey the job site and once completed I was to contact Mr. Cole to set up the work date and he was to send me a written copy of the work order. Over the past 3 1/2 weeks I have contacted Mr. Cole via phone (twice) and email (twice) to obtain a written copy of the work estimate. Both times that I spoke with Mr. Cole via the phone, he assured me that a work estimate would 1.) be sent via "snail mail", and 2.) would be emailed to my attention and that I was still on his list to have the work completed. After two weeks, and still no written work estimate, I tried to contact Mr. Cole via email and still received no response. At this point, I am unsure if he is still going to do the work , and am dumbfounded as to the reasoning as to why he has not sent an estimate. Mr. Cole seems to be a good Electrician, however if he wasn't interested in completing the job, I wish he would have communicated that to me.

Response from Cole Electric Inc
Dear member I apologize for my actions. I will try to explain? When I came out to meet with you we discussed several options regarding your panel box replacement or service upgrade. Since the power lines hung low over your deck and your meterbase was installed prior to the deck being built we needed to get the power company's ruling prior to pricing your job. I explained that if you met the engineer at your home they could let you know what your choices are. I did give you some estimated verbal prices as we discussed the different scenarios. I don't like to just estimate the worst case option because that usually cost you more than if we let the power company tell us their ruling. In hindsight I could have done that but sometimes it becomes too confusing resulting in information overload. When the engineer called me to discuss it I then knew what I was pricing to send you your estimate. When you called I said I would mail it right out since I don't really have "official" contracts by email yet? I have always just hand written them & mailed them out. I should have but did not mail yours out as I said I would .I am sorry for that. I am a very small owner/operator company that tries to do everything for everyone when it comes to my job. I personally answer the phones , give the estimates & schedule the material & work. I failed this time. If that wasn't bad enough after you sent me your email I lost my computer service this past week ? I did just get it back up & retrieved your proposal & sent it out with an apology as well as an additional discount for your patience for what it's worth prior to seeing this post. Please accept my apology knowing that I mean well yet fall short sometimes. It was no reflection on you as a customer, you did everything right we just came up short. The good news is you will not have to spend extra money now we know what Dominion will require. Please call if you can still consider us for your project .Respectfully, Scott F. Cole , President..

Repair was good but customer satisfaction was not. The cost was given affter completion of work. When asked the next day how cost was determined (no estimate was ever given) he did not have an answer. He reduced price by $30 but would not say how charges are deterimined. Since Cole Electric was originally contacted and recommended the electrician that did the work, they have responsibility for overall satisfaction.
Description of Work: Needed to fix a non-working bathroom circuit at my mothers house. Cole came to look at job but then said he was too busy and asked if another electrician he knew could do work. The other electrician came and made repair.

I CAN ASSURE YOU YOUR MOTHER WAS NOT OVERCHARGED. AS A MATTER OF FACT BOTH MYSELF & THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR I RECOMMENDED DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE WITH YOUR MOTHER'S BEST INTEREST IN MIND. I WILL TRY TO EXPLAIN THIS HERE SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST I AM HEARING ABOUT IT, BUT I AM AWARE OF THE FACTS; YET AT THIS TIME WE HAVE NOT YET SPOKEN. I ORIGINALLY RESPONDED TO YOUR MOTHER'S CALL & WENT OUT TO MAKE THE REPAIR MYSELF. SHE SHOWED ME A BATHROOM WITH LIGHTS & A FAN NOT WORKING. I DID SOME TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE WIRING BOTH IN THE BATHROOM & IN THE ATTIC. I ALSO DID A PANEL BOX INSPECTION TO MAKE SURE SHE DIDN'T HAVE A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD OR ISSUE IN THE PANEL. WHILE I WAS TRACING THE ATTIC WIRING I NOTICED THAT THE ATTIC HAD BLOWN IN INSULATION MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TRACE THE WIRES. I CAME DOWN & EXPLAINED TO YOUR MOTHER THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO RETURN LATER WITH A CREW TO FIND THE PROBLEM. SHE MENTIONED THE POSSIBILITY OF A WATER DAMAGE PROBLEM BUT I DIDN'T SEE WHERE THAT WAS AN ISSUE. I DID NOTICE SOMEONE HAD IMPROPERLY WIRED A TIME CLOCK TO THE PANEL BOX MAKING IT DANGEROUS PUTTING THE COVER BACK ON DUE TO EXPOSED WIRING . SINCE THE PROBLEM SHE HAD WAS AN INTERMITTENT CONNECTION IT WOULD COME ON & OFF BY ITSELF I WAS CONCERNED THAT IT MAY BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE I HAD HOPED I COULD GET IT REPAIRED SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. I TOLD HER I WAS NOT CHARGING HER THAT DAY AS I HAD NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM YET. WE DO HAVE A MINIMUM SERVICE CALL CHARGE FOR TROUBLESHOOTING , DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR WHICH WHEN POSSIBLE SMALLER ISSUES CAN BE FIXED AT A NOMINAL FEE. THE NEXT DAY I CONTACTED YOUR MOTHER TO LET HER KNOW THAT I COULDN'T GET TO HER YET DUE TO PRIOR COMMITMENTS BUT I HAD ANOTHER ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR I'VE KNOWN FOR 30 YEARS THAT I COULD RECOMMEND THAT MAYBE ABLE TO GET RIGHT OUT TO HER. SHE SAID THAT WOULD BE ALRIGHT SINCE I WAS RECOMMENDED TO HER & I WAS RECOMMENDING HIM. ANYTIME THERE'S POSSIBLE LOOSE CONNECTIONS OR INTERMITTENT POWER IT CAN BE DANGEROUS SO I FELT LIKE IF I COULD NOT GET IT DONE IMMEDIATELY IT WOULD BE IN HER BEST INTEREST TO GET SOMEONE QUALIFIED THAT COULD. I EXPLAINED TO THE OTHER CONTRACTOR WHAT I FOUND & THAT I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF HE COULD GET RIGHT TO IT BEFORE IT GOT WORSE. HE WENT OUT THE SAME DAY WITH HIS EMPLOYEE & THEY FOUND A WIRE THAT WAS FAILING TO CARRY THE POWER TO THE BATH & DISCONNECTED THE BAD WIRE & REFED IT FROM ANOTHER LOCATION THUS FIXING THE PROBLEM. WHILE HE WAS THERE HE ALSO ELIMINATED THE IMPROPERLY WIRED TIME CLOCK ISSUE I SAW EARLIER. ALL THIS FOR A CHARGE OF $225.00 .WHICH SEEMS VERY REASONABLE TO ME ? SHE STATED TO HIM TO LEAVE THE BILL SO SHE COULD DISCUSS IT WITH HER SON . HAVING A MOTHER MYSELF I KNOW THAT IT MAY SEEM TO YOU THAT WE DIDN'T LIVE UP TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS BUT IN OUR DEFENSE HAD YOU CALLED ME YOURSELF TO DISCUSS THE REPAIR AT HER HOUSE I WOULD HAVE HAD A CONTACT NUMBER FOR YOU SO I COULD KEEP YOU INFORMED. WHEN SHE CALLED HIM BACK TO DISCUSS THE CHARGES HE VOLUNTEERED TO DISCOUNT HIS PRICE RATHER THAN ARGUE OVER IT'S MERIT SINCE THE REFERRAL CAME FROM ME. YOUR MOTHER IS A LOVELY LADY WE BOTH TRIED TO HELP MAKE SAFE IN HER HOME. I AM SORRY YOU FELT THE NEED TO TAKE THE TIME TO GIVE ME THIS REPORT YET NOT TAKE THE TIME TO EVER DISCUSS IT WITH ME OR THE OTHER CONTRACTOR . HAD YOU DONE THAT, YOU MAY HAVE REALIZED THE VALUE YOU RECEIVED BY REFERRING US TO YOUR MOTHER & FROM YOUR MEMBERSHIP W/ ANGIE'S LIST. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU & THE MEMBERS THAT READ THIS UNDERSTAND HOW THIS HAPPENED SO IT CAN BE AVOIDED IN THE FUTURE. WE ARE NOT SUPERHUMAN. WE CAN'T SEE BEHIND WALLS. WE HAVE TO TAKE TIME TO FIND & REPAIR PROBLEMS, SOME FASTER THAN OTHERS. YOU STATED AN ESTIMATE WAS NOT GIVEN YET YOU NEVER ASKED FOR ONE. HAD YOU ASKED WE WOULD HAVE EXPLAINED THAT IT IS DEPENDENT ON HOW LONG IT TAKES TO FIX. SOME JOBS ARE CUT & DRY THAT CAN BE ESTIMATED, OTHERS MUST PRICED AFTER THE REPAIRS ARE MADE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WE DO THE BEST WE CAN & CONTINUE TO TRY TO GIVE THE BEST SERVICE WE CAN . I'VE LEFT A MESSAGE FOR BOTH YOU & YOUR MOTHER BY PHONE IF WE NEED TO DISCUSS IT FURTHER. I HOPE THIS HELPED .... SCOTT F. COLE , PRESIDENT COLE ELECTRIC INC.

We had lost power in about half the rooms on our second floor. I called Cole Electric about 8:30AM, spoke to Mr. Cole, who said he would have an electrician out by 10:00. When noon came and the electrician had not arrived, I called back. Mr Cole apologized and explained that one of their trucks had broken down and had to be towed, but that he himself was on his way to my house. He arrived, in fact, barely 5 minutes later. Mr. Cole quickly eliminated the obvious culprits (circuit breakers, bad switches, etc.), did some preliminary tests on the upstairs circuits, and said there was a break somewhere in the upstairs wiring, and he would need to send a pair of people out later to trace the wiring and find the problem He promised to have them there by 4:00. About an hour later (before 2:00) , he called and said one of his electricians had finished a job early and, with my permission, would come out and get started immediately. The electrician arrived (in his own car), surprised both me and, I think, himself by almost immediately finding the broken connection near an overhead light fixture. There wasn't enough loose wire for a straightforward repair, so he would have to go into the attic (in July, in Virginia Beach - I didn't envy him) and install a junction box. He didn't have a box or a full set of tools in his own car, so he had to leave (to go find that truck that had been towed with the tools and supplies) and come back. Once he returned, the repair was done very quickly, he cleaned everything up, and we were done.
Description of Work: Located and repaired bad connection in upstairs wiring.

We had a lighting strike to our home on Sunday July 12, we were on a short vacation and did not know it had happened until we returned on July 18th. I found that my two fridges and one freezer had completely stopped working and everything had thawed out. A/C not working, Hot water heater not working, and other problems. I called Cole Electric the next morning and within ONE hour they were out here; It was amazing how they got us back up and running and were very professional. I will never use another electrician but Cole from now on.

I called Mr. Cole the day prior to let him know the jobs that I would like to have done and he said he could come out the next morning to give me an estimate. While I was at work, he checked everything out and called me back with an estimate. I asked him about several other things that needed to be done and his crew was so quick that they were able to fix everything in one day. He explained everything to my husband prior to leaving and called me back that night since I wasn't home when he finished the job. He stayed on the phone for over 10 minutes explaining everything in detail and made sure I was satisfied with the job. His crew were very nice and more importantly, I didn't have to do anything.

This was a major job involving removal and replacement of the panel and the entire wiring for the house. The workment were prompt, efficient, and kept me informed about the progress of the job. It took about 6 hours to complete the job from start to finish.
Description of Work: During repleacement of a defective electrical breaker, Mr. Cole noted that it might be a good idea to replace the 30 yr old panel. The growing electrical demands over the years had placed a large demand on the rather minimal quality panel. This was particlarly pertinent since one of the breakers had already burned through and was close to arching to the bus. For safety's sake I decided to have Cole electrical upgrade and replace the panel.

I called Scott Cole on June 16th because some of the lights in my kitchen had suddenly stopped working. I wasn't able to locate the problem myself and decided I needed a professional. Scott came out that same day and after about an hour found the problem, which was a loose wire in one of our wall switches. He fixed it and also checked out all the connections in our circuit breaker panel. There he found another wire that had almost come out and re-attached it. He was done with everything in little over an hour. I was very happy with the quick response Scott provided and the great, professional service. He noticed I was in the middle of preparing a big dinner and offered to come back the next day if he didn't find the problem soon. (He located the loose wire a minute after he said it) All in all, I am very happy with the great service. He might somewhat pricier than his competitors but I just wanted a reputable electrician who knows what he's doing. I found Scott Cole on Angie's List and I was not disappointed.

Overall, I am very pleased with the experience. Scott Cole promptly responded to my initial call and had one of his men out the same day. He wired up the attic fan and determined that the doorbell transformer would need to be replaced (he did not have one on the truck). Three days later two men came out and worked well over 3 hours running the new circuits and putting in the new phone jack. They also replaced the transformer and while they were at it, they rerouted some wiring through a new junction box they installed in the attic because the old one was overloaded. The electricians were friendly, polite and professional. I was very pleased with the quality of their work. I will say that, while I have nothing specifc to base it on, I thought that their price may have been a little high, which is why I didn't give them an "A" in the price category. That said, I would rather pay a little more and get quality service and workmanship, and that is what I believe I received from Cole Electric.
Description of Work: Intalled 2 new dedicated electrical circuits: one for a refrigerator and one for a computer and related electronics. Also installed a new telephone jack to support internet connectivity. Wired a new attic fan that had been previously installed (but not wired) by a roofer, and replaced a doorbell transformer blown during an electrical storm.

When our 30-some-year-old two story home was built, ceiling lights were not put in the living room or in any of the upstairs bedrooms, and electrical outlets were scarce in the family room. Not to mention that there were no more slots available in the electrical panel. Mr. Cole's crew upgraded the electrical panel and ran wire to the attic, where they installed new ceiling fans and lights. They also put an electrical outlet and light fixture into a closet that one day will house the computer/home office. A ceiling light was also installed in the formal living room and they also relocated/centered a new ceiling fan/light in the breakfast nook. Mr. Cole's crew was very punctual, arriving to start work when they said they would and put in 2 long days to finish my little project within the estimated time frame. They took care of all permits and arranged to have the city inspector check out the electrical panel while they were on site. Oh, they also did a good job of cleaning up after they completed the work.

Scott was professional and very accommodating. He visited the house to estimate the scope of work and a day later give an estimate. Once the price/scope was agreed upon, they started the work the following Tuesday and completed it on Thursday. The crew cleaned up at the end of each day, were professional/respectful, and were great with my dog that wanted to sit right where they were working the whole time. Not all of the lights would go where they were planned, but Bob/Mike/Keith were great with finding places they could go while minimizing the "holes" that were put in the ceiling. Mike even patched the few holes that they made to run the wire. Nice touch!
Description of Work: Recessed lighting was added in three rooms of the house, three new circuits installed (one dedicated to home office equipment), relocated a wall outlet, installed two chandeliers, installed pendant lights over a island and sink, installed undercabinet lighting, and installed several dimmer switches. I had a general plan in mind of what I wanted, but Scott was great with suggestions on where to put lights, where not to put them, and where the switches should be. He thought of many things that I did not. I was most impressed with him showing up on the first day with the crew and describing what was planned for each room.

I reviewed every evaluation for all electrical contractors. Cole Electric sounded great so I called. Mr. Cole discussed the symptoms with me and told me that he could charge me to come out and tell me to check first with Dominion Virginia Power but that wasn't part of his business plan. He invited me to call him back - and he would come out and charge me to troubleshoot the mystery - if checked everything out and the problem persisted. Within four hours, DVP had restored full power to my home at no cost; one of the relays on the pole behind my house had gone bad! I am so appreciative of and impressed by Mr. Cole's business ethics. It's his company I will recommend if anyone ever asks me for a good electrician! It also was an excellent, if rueful, reminder that we have nothing to fear but fear itself!
Description of Work: I had had an electrical gremlin in my 1932 house for a year and a half. Some circuits would cut out without warning - and resume service whenever. While some would continue to work, the ones that would go out served the range, washing machine and dryer and the HVAC systems. NOT so convenient but I figured out how to get the circuits back by turning on the range's burners. No kidding. Because of the age of the house, I feared someone would tell me I had to re-wire the whole place which I definitely would not be able to afford. Finally, the burner trick stopped working and, after two weeks of no A/C in July, I joined Angie's List and went looking.

Response from Cole Electric Inc
THANK YOU FOR CALLING US TO HELP WITH YOUR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. I'M GLAD WE COULD HELP. YOUR PROBLEM IS NOT UNCOMMON. THE POWER COMPANY HAS ISSUES ON THEIR SIDE OF DELIVERY TO HOMES THAT GIVE ALL TYPES OF WEIRD SYMPTOMS. IN SIMPLE WORDS THERE'S THREE WIRES COMING TO MOST HOMES. IF 1 OF THE 3 FAIL YOU GET PARTIAL SERVICE WHICH CAN RESULT IN BROWN OUT OR NO POWER SERVICE. AFTER 20 YEARS OF FIELDING CALLS LIKE YOURS I'VE FOUND OUR COMPANY GAINS MUCH MORE BY LETTING YOU KNOW TO CHECK WITH THE POWER COMPANY FIRST THEN CALL US IF NEEDED RATHER THAN COME TO YOUR HOME, CHARGE FOR A SERVICE CALL THEN TELL YOU WE CAN'T FIX IT, CALL THE POWER COMPANY LEAVING YOU WITH THAT EMPTY FEELING "WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT"? SURE WE LOSE A CALL BUT GAIN A CUSTOMER'S TRUST WHICH MONEY CAN'T BUY. I'M GLAD YOU HAD A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU AT SOME POINT IN YOUR FUTURE IF NEEDED. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

My alarm system, garage door opener, and several circuits went out after the last storm. It looked like the circuit braker might be defective. I call Cole Electric and within 30 minutes I got a reply and set up an appointment for an inspection/repair. The service was fast and efficient. No major problems were found. The whole thing was triggered by a wet exterior receptacle that was causative. They were a little late due to another emergency. I would have liked a call to tell me that.
Description of Work: My alarm system and several other electrical systems were out when I came home. The circuit breaker would not re-set nor would any other GFCI's in the system. I needed to find out what has caused the outage and get it fixed.

He was very professional when he was there. He did a very good job at getting the job done on time. He showed up on time to do the work for us. He did call to tell us that he was on his way over to do the work.
Description of Work: They installed some outdoor lights. They also rewired some outlets inside the house.

We had a deck installed last summer and apparently the company that installed the deck didn't make the hole big enough in the new support structure for the wires to fit through. The wires were all bare and touching and so when the rain came in through the switch cover, it blew up. Cole diagnosed the problem quickly. They had to remove the decking material, make the hole bigger in the supporting structure and in the decking material (as the deck company failed to do). They had to crawl under the deck (it had been raining, so the ground was soaked!) to check the wiring. I lent him some tarps for under the deck, and he rinsed them off and hung them to dry before leaving. Rather than charging me to rewire, he found that there was sufficient slack in the existing wire to pull through and fix. While under the deck, he also found another outlet in our sun room that needed fixing, which he did at no extra cost. He also did a complementary inspection of the fuse box.
Description of Work: Cole fixed an outside outlet that had blown up during a rain storm. Cole scheduled the appointment very quickly. He had to reschedule because someone else had lost power in an entire house, but he called to verify that new timing was OK. Two electricians came to the house right on time (maybe even 5 minutes early!) and found the problem quickly. The price was very reasonable, and they finished the job within about an hour and a half, even doing more than what we had expected.
