I approximately spent $1000. They put hardwood flooring through our living area. I had another company do the flooring for me, and we had hardwood flooring put in only a few rooms. I wanted it for the entire house. There were hardwood floor downstairs and up into the rest of the house. We liked them very much. It is very good. He is very professional, which I like about him. He is very knowledgeable. The people are very good too who are working for him. I will definitely use them again in the future.

There were a couple of problems with installation. Their nailing gun wasn't working correctly but they continued to install. They had to come back and remove almost 30% of the flooring and replace it because of split edges and greasy smears caused by the wood filler. The problem with the replacement was the next lot of red oak hardwood flooring had a different coating and did not match the original flooring. The new flooring was noticeably duller and you could clearly differentiate between the old and new flooring. Anderson got the local rep (from Long Flooring-the manufacturer) out to look at the flooring and she agreed it wasn't what it should be. About a month later Long Flooring sent me a letter saying the flooring was within industry standards and they wouldn't replace it. My issue with Anderson Flooring was the first lot of flooring would have been sufficient it they hadn't botched the installation. They also had a problem with the wood filler used to fill in nail holes. It left a greasy smudge that was very visible and couldn't be removed. They worked hard to resolve issues with Long Flooring but in the end nothing was resolved. Anderson recommended this flooring and apparently Long Flooring manufactures an inferior product and has very low standards in dealing with customers. I wouldn't recommend Long for any products to include firewood. Anderson worked hard to correct the problems but they should of had a supervisor check on the initial installation. I would not use them again.

Excellent experience. Ryan was able to meet with me before work, provided me a quote on the spot and we scheduled them. Very professional. They used a wonderful dust containment system, the floors were perfect and a very close match to the previously refinished hall floors. I've referred a friend to Anderson and they too were delighted.

They were very professional. The guys who came in were very nice and they put up with my barking dog. They were very patient. The owner came for about 3 to 4 times to check on the progress of the work, and it was a nice attitude. They were great and we would be calling them again to do some more work at our house.

They did a good job. They are very skilled. They knew exactly what they were doing. I actually found this guy on Angie?s List. Hi s business in located in Virginia Beach but he works all over the place. He came out and did an estimate. The job took 4 days from start to finish. It was exactly what he said it was going to be. He actually helped me decide what type of job to use because there is pre-done wood that places sell that has a prefinished coating on it and then there is unfinished wood. If you use prefinished wood there is going to be a micro beveled edge on the edge on every single piece of wood, so that the floor is going to have the lines in it where those two pieces of wood go together. It?s not a very big spot to look at and it actually looks ok, however that little groove fills up with dirt. I talked to my wife about it and she said what we really want is floor where it is completely smooth and is really no place for dust and dirt to sit and the reason that we want to do that is because over time when you are walking on the floor there is no way for your feet or shoes to pick up the dirt and grind it into the finish. We got a floor that is finished in place. They put down moisture barrier, they lay out the wood and they call it racking it out. They let the wood sit in the space for, I think, 48 hours is the industry standard for minimum. You bring the wood in the home you let it sit there racked out in the space where you are going to nail it down for 48 hours so that it can come to the right moisture level that way you don?t get warping. They nail it down, they sand it and then they seal it. They let the sealant sit for 24 hours and then they come back and they put the polyurethane down with 2 coats. That is where the real skill comes in. That is something I could not do myself. I could rent the sander and sand the edges and do all that stuff. In terms in applying the polyurethane, that is a skill that takes years to develop the ability to do that. I watched the guys and its like magic when they put this stuff on, I mean it?s amazing. Because if they don?t do it right you get problems in the floor like grit and stuff in there that doesn?t belong in there. It takes a week for it to fully cure. They say you can walk on it in three days and it takes close to a month before the smell goes away. They use a low volatile organic compound (VOC) type of chemical. Ryan Anderson knows exactly what he is doing. He is very personable. He tends to stay very busy because he knows what he is doing. He gave me an excellent price on the lumber. We got Brazilian cherry which is actually a misnomer, it?s not cherry at all; the name in Brazil is jataoba. I look around and I have to say that I was not disappointed. We love the floor and it looks great. I got more than my money?s worth. I expected to spend twice as much money for this particular floor. I thought it would be $5000, of course I don?t really know how much a floor is. I will probably have him come in and do other rooms in the future. I still have wood left because they sell the wood in bundles.

Ryan Anderson and his workers were the best in the business. Our new home was transformed into a dream home. Ryan set us up with a flooring showroom, only open to flooring contracts...it was a huge facility and we choose a tile, within our price range, and Ryan completed a beautiful, professional job, with an unique design. We left Ryan to take up the carpet and do the installation on his own time, while we were in NYC and not present. Ryan kept in touch with us with calls and photos. A very pleasing experience.

Ryan Anderson returned my call promptly and met me on time the next day to work up the estimate. (3 other companies didn't even return my call.) We signed a contract that morning and he was able to have his crew start the next day. They did a beautiful job on the floors. They sanded, sealed and poly'd them then replaced the shoe molding and rehung the closet doors. They used a dust containment system and my home was left dust free. Ryan updated me periodically during the process and was extremely professional to work with. I highly recommend them.

They were very professional and seemed to really know their business. They are a small business which I liked a lot and they don't have sub contractors. I purchased the bamboo separately and they installed it. I had less expensive quotes but I was not at all confident of their skill and ability. The cheaper quotes were from the ones who were not only flooring companies. In terms of only flooring companies Anderson Flooring Inc was very competitive.
Description of Work: Anderson Flooring Inc came to repair something and I have a follow up with them as well. They replaced my entire floor with bamboo except for our two bathrooms. It was somewhere between 1600 and 1700 square feet with bamboo.

The estitimate process was good and Ryan was very professional. However, he made it sound that he and a crew of about 5 would be there to do the job, but on the day of the job he showed up just to pick up a down payment and left only 2 guys to do the work. Also, his square footage measurements were by far the highest of 5 other companies I had come in. In the end his price was about middle of he road, but since the price is based "per square foot" it bothered me that the measurements were not accurate and no attempt was made to make the measurement accurate even when I offered to assist. The majority of the work took 3 days as planned. Towards the end of the 2nd day, it looked like there was no way that it would be complete in 3 days. The kitchen had yet to be sanded and many of the other rooms still had edge sanding to do. However 2 hours later they called saying the sanding was done and the sealer had be applied. This amazed me as there was so much to be done. When I saw the work that night, it was evident that the team had rushed to finish as the rest of the house looked much better than the kitchen. I was also informed that a different individual would be coming the next day to finish as the rest of the crew had a different job to do, and that only 2 coats of poly would be applied. Both topics worried me, 1st since a different member would be coming and that he would be working alone, and because the contract and discussions all mentioned 3 coats of poly. I discussed this with Ryan and he stated that the 3 coats were not 3 coats of poly, but 3 coats total (sealer plus 2 coats poly). He aso said that 3 coat of poly was against industry standard and that if they put on a third coat it would have to be in about 6 months per the manufacturer recommendation. Well, I know exactly that Ryan always mentioned 3 coats of poly and I always re-emphasized that. Also, I read on the back of the Bona Mega poly container and it specifically says to add a 3rd coat of finish to commercial and residential high traffic areas. The worker who came the next day was very professional and tried to address my areas of concern in the kitchen. He finished the job, but had used a different putty that left many white marks that showed up all over the kitchen floor at night when the lights were on. Ryan agreed to send him back and fix the problems, but it took 2 weeks to get him back. When he did get there it took him 1 day to sand out the white spots, use the right putty, and apply sealer, and 1 day to apply the poly. The worker told me to call that night if white spots still showed up and he would be back the next day to fix it. Well the spots were still there and I called, but the next morning Ryan called and asked what was going on and told me that he would have the worker contact me. That never happened, so I called the worker himself and he told me Ryan had told him not to come to my house, but to go to another job. Then began a game of phone tag, messages, and discussions where I was told the worker would get in touch ith me directly. That went on for about a week before I finally got the worker back in to finalized the job. Also, one bedroom still smells like sealer after 6 weeks even though the other rooms did not smell at all once the poly was applied. Nothing was done to rectify this problem. I was told they have no idea why it still smells and that it should go away when the sealer drys if some was spilled in a crack or something. Overall the work was done good at a fair price, but I just was left with a feeling that I was, at times, being given the run around, or BS'd. All the guys were good, but I just think the professionalism and customer satisfaction areas need a little work, but this experience was still better than most in Norfolk. I would hire them again, but I would like to see more info and clarity in the contract to assure complete customer satisfaction.

Ryan jumped at the opportunity to come out and give us an estimate. He was very personable and professional. He called later on and asked if he could make an appointment to give us his estimate the next afternoon. He explained his estimate in detail and made sure we understood it and that all of our questions were answered. We liked everything about Ryan and the products he proposed using except for his price. He was significantly higher than his competitors.

I am very very pleased with the results of the refinishing and repairs. Ryan Anderson was very thorough in his walk-through and explained a great deal about the process and the best practices for the work. The project took roughly 9 days with the pulling up of old tacks, sanding, repair of 15 boards, staining of new boards to match the existing boards, and polyurethaning. The work team was very polite and neat. Not only did they use dust containment systems but they were thorough about sweeping the porch area where the cutting for the repairs took place. Overall, the results are fantastic!

Ryan Anderson came to our home to give us an estimate. When he realized we did not know exactly what we wanted, he arranged for us to meet with Christina Angelson at ProSource Wholesale Floorcoverings. She was very helpful and allowed us to take some samples home. Once we decided what we wanted, Ryan came to our home, gave us an estimate and returned the samples to ProSource for us (how convenient!). Installing the laminates in 4 rooms took about 3 days, and Scott and Max were very neat and friendly, despite being watched like a hawk and at times badgered by our ridiculous condominium grounds-keeper. The stair project took a little more time, but it turned out beautifully. We had boxed-in, carpeted stairs, and they trasnformed them into a beautiful wooden staircase. When we would give suggestions for the detail-work, the guys were attentive and never frustrated with us. We couldn?t be more pleased with the results! We had a pre-existing floating floor that squeaked whenever anyone would walk on it. Ryan volunteered to try to repair it and did not charge us for the repair. The squeaks are gone! He also had the team repair a bent and ?sticking? closet door and charged us a minimal amount for the parts and labor. We have a small dog, and Ryan, Scott and Max are all dog-friendly. We did not have to put her in a kennel while the work was being done. This was quite convenient for us, and our dog loved their company! These guys go above and beyond, and I highly recommend them. I will use them again if I ever need flooring done in the future.

I was moving in and had a very strict time schedule. I scheduled the work to begin on a Friday and needed it to be finished by Wednesday. Due to another project running late, they did not officially begin the work until Monday afternoon--which of course had me a little worried. However, they worked late nights and still were able to finish on time by Wednesday night. The guys were very friendly and professional and the floors look great! I would definitely use them again, especially if I have a more flexible schedule and timeline.

Ryan is very professional and was easy to reach with questions. Overall, Ryan and his staff did a great job on the demolition and installation. There was unanticipated demo work (we didn't know there was tile under the carpet padding that needed to be removed also) and Ryan got someone in the same day with a machine to pull up the tile. This added a little to the demo cost, but Ryan only charged me half of the labor cost. The demo guy messed up my newly painted walls but Ryan sent his finish man over when the job was completed to touch up the paint. I really feel like he went out of his way to make sure that the job was done well. The only complaint that I have is that there was quite a bit of glue left on the floor (from the workers' shoes mostly) that was time consuming to remove. Otherwise, I'm really happy with the work.

The representative from the company that quoted the job was pleasant, professional and I received written quotes, a schedule of the work to be done. The gentlemen that installed the flooring were professional. They came in, did their job, cleaned up and left. There were no excuses, no conversations and no dragging the job out.
Description of Work: I couldn't get the original company that started the work, back to complete the job. Ryan had his crew came in and completed the job. They married their installation of hardwood to that the other company had started, beautifully. Anderson Flooring was professional from start to finish.
