A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing & Water Heaters

I called to have a pin size hole in the pipe replaced when I discovered it was leaking. When I called I was told he could be at the house in 2 hours. I then received another call saying he was running late and it would be another 2 hours. The service tech called about the time promised the second time and asked for directions. 30 mins later he arrived and quickly confirmed I needed about 3ins of copper pipe replaced. As he was getting on the ladder to start the process I asked how much it was going to cost. He said and quot;and arm and a legand quot; and continued to work. I should have stopped him then and kicked him out but we really needed our hot water back on in the house. He quickly fixed the pipe and did a good job cleaning up. Then knocked me out with a $340 bill. I was shocked. I ended up complaining and used an online coupon which lowered it to $265. So in terms of this company.. this is my last experience with them. No written estimate before the work begins.. unprofessional when asking about price.. and can not show up on time. There are many plumbers in the area.... use one of them!

Our unit was leaking and old. Determined to do it myself, did all the research etc. Received 2 quotes for installing. One was charging $79.00 for a flange piece that was needed. I Bought that direct (on line) from InSinkErator for $20.00. Bottom line I would have saved, besides the outside purchase of the flange, about $65.00. However, in watching the plumber, John, do it all in 1 hour....and watching him get the mount in correctly, I decided that it was WELL worth the money! Called and scheduled the service for the next day. An estimated time of arrival was given to me. John called to say he was on the way and arrived within the original estimated time given by the office. He was very courteous, clean and made sure to protect the area and flooring. Install went fairly smooth, except for his struggle to mount the unit correctly. He was able to re-mount the unit and finished the job. He then tested all the workings and double checked for leaks. Warranty info was provided and he even was able to provide a quote for a new faucet that I know I need!!! Very satisfied with all the times I have used them. I did use an on line coupon to hep lower the cost too!

I called A-1 to do two simple jobs -- replace the and quot;flapperand quot; mechanism in one toilet tank and replace a cartridge in a Delta bathroom faucet (I already had the part). My husband is capable of doing these things but was out of town. When I called A-1 American, I was pleasantly surprised that they would come the same day, since it was not an emergency. The employee who answered the phone said that they figure the cost and quot;by the job, not by the hourand quot; and added that there was a service call fee of $78. The A-1 employee who came to the house later that day listened solemnly as I showed him the faucet and toilet (he did not inspect them himself), then said he would have to phone the information to the office -- from his car -- in order to give me a price. When he returned with the written estimate, I was stunned to hear that it was $986.25!!! ($591.25 for the faucet, $395 for the toilet). I actually thought he was joking, because it was so far out of line. When I recovered from the shock, I said no thanks -- but he QUICKLY reminded me that I owed $78 for the service call -- and I realized I'd been had! In hindsight I realized how slick the process was -- they never expected to get the job. It's almost a scam. I don't think the guy who came was a plumber, so he can probably make at least one and quot;service calland quot; per hour. Then A-1 can pay him a 25% commission and everybody except the customer is happy. I don't believe they did anything technically illegal, but they need to be stopped.

The worst part about being stood up for the service call is that I was eventually contacted at 6:15 by a rude man saying it was my fault that the technician did not come to the house. He stated they had been trying to call me. This was SUCH A BLATANT lie because I had my phone with me through out the entire day, and it showed zero missed calls or voicemails. The second worst thing about all of this is the avoidance that I received from A 1 when I have called to complain. NO ONE will call me back nor even apologize. I am still in shock of this absolute horrid customer service. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!!!!

The plumber arrived on schedule, was courteous and professional. He made the repair in a reasonable amount of time and offered advice on how to avoid future problems.

They did fine. I spent probably $200 to $300. The work was done fine by people who were professional.

Darrel was able to fix the main issue at hand, and did a great job. Took more time than expected, but that is because it was a bigger issue than we imagined. I hope to see them in the future for further repairs. They are the super heros of plumbing!

We're satisfied and happy with them. He did a really really good job. Our toilet is supercharged! We have his magnet on our fridge.

This organization is absolutely superb. I had a broken water supply line to the kitchen sink. It parted due to age. The issue began with deteriorated washers in the supply valve to the dishwasher and quickly conflagrated to the broken pipe. My useless AHS warranty served no purpose so my spouse contacted A1 who quickly scheduled a repair (very busy so it took a day or two to be corrected). They repaired the pipe, replaced 2 supply cut out valves and restored water to my house and family while I was away on travel.

Took about 3 minutes to light the valve and 5 minutes for the paperwork. Wanted me to replace the entire hot water heater ASAP (next day) at cost of ~ $1150. I was charged $138.50 for lighting the gas pilot.

Plumber did not stop leak or wait to ensure water had stopped. Spent more time writing up work order than in the house (less than 10 minutes). Ceiling was still leaking when he left. The plumber said I would need to have a complete change to my washing machine and water tub. He did not examine washing machine. Called different plumber. The issue was that the putty has deteriorated - a 2 minute fix that ended up costing me more money (over $100) to pay a second plumber. Office was not helpful. Owner was unprofessional. Glad to be done with it and told them to keep my money. Not worth it. May I, however, say that the office receptionist who booked the appointment was very nice and helpful. And, she called me to tell me the plumber was on route.

Due to extremely cold temps outdoor, backyard water supply pipe burst and flood area while no one was home. Tech was responsive, very quick and supportive. His professionalism was top notch and his attention to details was superior!

They came out within two hours after I discovered a leak under my house. This was at 4 pm. The guy was quick and knew right away what to do. If you can have ANYONE come out to your house for less than $200, I think you're doing well.

They were okay. It was an emergency. I did not have time to sit there and price out anything. Their person pressured me to get a tankless water heater as our house was so old. Our tank was so old they would not be able to replace it as our house was so old they would have to cut another hole in our house. I did not like their sales tactic. Overall the company is okay. They had to do the city inspection twice. It did not pass the first time. The company is good. They are responsive. They will come out and respond in an emergency. As for price, you need to compare shop.

I called them on a saturday afternoon and spoke with Brandy. She was pleasant and advised me that someone could be out to my townhouse within an hour. My place is difficult to locate an i expected them to show up late but was pleasantly suprised when Jason arrived on time. He was pleasant and completed the assigned task in a reasonable amount of time without a bunch of unneccessary chit chat. The price was right and they have a satisfied customer.

They came out and worked on it for a long time; the guy was here for about four hours. They told me the price that it would be when they came out and they stuck to that. They were easy to get hold of and responded to the call very quickly; I had them out the same night I called and the guy worked until it was fixed.

Plumber was sloppy in removing the small part of the drywall in the ceiling which was needed to find and fix the leak. When found, he didn't clear all the water from the pipes and had to do two do-overs to get it right which cost me at least a half hour more labor for which I was charged. Had he done it right the first time, the cost would have been less.

Accomplished what was expected

Others called and pricing ranged all over, but the Manager took the time to explain the process of what they felt needed to be done based upon the complaints I had with the existing system. Arrived on time, assessed the work and began immediately. Plumber explained the process and was very quick to get to work. VERY polite and professional, right down to the shoe covers to protect carpeting. A little pricey compared to others quoted, however, well worth it considering the job, timing and professionalism. Plumber cleaned up after the job and made sure I was satisfied. Definitely getting a call back when needed.

The problem was described during the service call. He entered the house with no tools. Then, the plumber had to go out to his truck 3 times and moved very slowly (which added more time for which to charge). After he fixed the running faucet and charged me, he told me I needed a new faucet because a bracket under the faucet was badly rusted!

Do not allow the work to be started unless you have a written price quote from this bunch. They most definitely took advantage of the situation and my wife Copy of the invoice is available at any time..........

They have come out last month, last week, and today. They can't seem to solve this issue. They come out without enough people to do the work.
