My 95-year old father uses his computer for e-mail, writing letters with WORD, and creating greetings cards using Hallmark software. Suddenly, he could not find any of his saved files for these programs (letters, cards, e-mails). I tried to help, as did my husband, my father's aide, and the computer guy at the retirement community where dad lives, but none of us were successful. Based on reviews from Angie's List, I e-mailed Mobile PC Solutions, and the owner, Darby Ford, responded. She thought she could help with the problem, which I suspected had to do with multiple users and forgotten passwords. We made arrangements to meet at dad's a couple of days later. Darby arrived on time and went right to work. She charges by the half hour, but didn't waste a minute. She really knew what she was doing and confirmed that dad's files were attached to a user for which he had forgotten the password. She was able to retrieve the files, get rid of unnecessary users, and even called Cox to reset a password he needed for his e-mail account. While waiting for Cox she noticed discs laying around for software no longer valid and told us to throw them away. She also noticed a zip drive no longer being used and told us to pitch it. She probably could have finished earlier, but we kept asking questions. She gave us an Angie's List discount and I feel we got great value for the $135 we spent. I would not hesitate to contact Darby again. I like the fact that her company is small, so the next time dad has a computer problem (and I'm sure there will be a next time!) we can call someone who is familiar with his needs and computer set-up. Darby to the rescue!

Darby was on-time, a total pro and provided additional suggestions for steps I can take that hadn't been recommended by my employer's contract IT firm to protect my laptop to the best extent possible. She is clearly very knowledgeable and left me feeling extremely reassured that not only am I taking every step I can and more than the company's IT firm had suggested, but that I have a professional, reliable and expert resource close to home who can troubleshoot and resolve any issues that do come up, if they do. It's impossible to make a laptop invincible - especially one that travels with me and connects to a variety of networks - but I'm more confident than ever that my laptop issues will be minimal going forward. Huge peace of mind.

This was a great experience. When I first contacted Mobile PC Solutions I received quick responses from both Darby and Kyle Ford. They were very flexible when it came to scheduling a date/time that would work with my schedule. My appointment with Kyle was scheduled for 4:00 pm but he was running late. He called to let me know that he would be at my home about 20 minutes later than planned. Then he showed up when he said he would. He went immediately to work and fixed my problems. He was friendly, efficient and professional. I would recommend Mobile PC Solutions to any home or business in need of help with their Apple or PC products.

I strongly recommend PC Mobile Solutions. My story begins with the fact that I use the computer for writing and editing, emails, photos and browsing the Internet. I grew up with typewriters and still have a typewriter mentality although I've used' computers for 25 years. Over past few years I've had various geek guys help me with computer problems and have felt intimidated by their knowledge and my ignorance. This time with my 9-year-old desktop filled with unorganized and some nonfunctioning --even "lost"--files and programs and photos, I knew I needed a lot of help --and probably a new computer. I turned to Angie's list. That's when I found the positive reviews for PC Mobile Solutions and Darby Ford. I liked the idea that PC Mobile Solutions was a woman-owned business and that Darby's son worked with her. I emailed Darby in late January and asked for her help. Her first visit was to assess my computers (the old desktop and a 3-year-old laptop) and what problems I was having. I'd been receiving emails from friends with newer computers who would send attachments that I could not open on my desktop, so I'd have to wait until I went to my laptop in order to reply to some emails. It was a very inefficient way to work. One of the first things Darby did was fix the desktop so it could read the newer attachments. Darby and I talked about what I needed/expected from a desktop. She seemed to immediately get a sense of the level of my computer literacy and understood what I needed to get my work done. She reassured me that I could manage with a pretty basic new computer. Darby cleaned up the memory-filled old desktop and got rid of some files and programs so that I could work with it until I ordered a new one. She also tutored me on shortcuts and a few other ways of working more efficiently with my files. When she left, she suggested a few reasonably-priced computer brands I might consider and offered her help as I searched for one. It took me a while, for various reasons, to research computers and prices but when I decided in March on a DELL computer on sale for $550, Darby checked out the specs and assured me via e-mail that it would more than fill my needs. When the new computer arrived, Darby set it up for me, transferred the files from the old computer to the new one, and tutored me in a few of its features with which I was not familiar. In addition, she also reset the Seagate external harddrive that had not been functioning properly to work with the new one. We scheduled another visit in two weeks for her to come back for an hour and further help me get acquainted with my new computer. And, of course, as before, she emphasized that I should email or call her if I had any questions. Darby was a god-send for me. As others have written, she's outstanding as a computer consultant, she knows what she's doing, and I found her to be very sensitive and patient. I will definitely call PC Mobile Solutions and Darby (or Kyle) for any computer issues I have in the future. The costs given above do not include the price of my computer, but the expense was worth the comfort of working with someone/Darby who was focused on my particular needs. And there was mor:. Advice on Mobile phones. I felt pressured to upgrade my simple cell phone (well past the 2-year contract with Verizon) to a Smart phone since "everyone" including my husband and adult, married children have one. I asked Darby for her advice. She provided a general overview and urged me to visit stores and play with a few Smart phones and see how I felt about them. She urged me to consider how I would use it. And she asked if I, as a retiree, had considered a pre-pay phone instead of signing up for another 2-year contract. She told me she would be glad to accompany me--if I wanted her to--when I was ready to make a decision. Darby's wisdom, questions, and willingness to help provided me with the confidence to check out Smart phones and also to seriously consider if I, a non-techie who is comfortable doing my emails and web searches on computer, and taking photos with a digital camera and uploading them, really needed a Smart phone. In the end, I decided on a standard prepay ("dumb") phone, and just the other day sent a thank you note to Darby giving her the news. Thanks to her, I'm comfortable with this new phone and if I decide to move to a Smart phone, I can do it anytime because I'm not on a contract!

Once upon a time, my computer was acting strange. I restarted it several times, but no luck. It was Christmas Eve, and I wanted to send an email to my ex-wife, wishing her a Merry Christmas. What to do? So, I called mobilepcsolution.com, on the off-chance they would come out on Christmas Eve. They were there in less than an hour, fixed my computer, AND never charged a penny...they said it was my Christmas present for being such a good customer.

Darby did an outstanding job. She immediately was aware of the problem with my HP laptop. She mentioned that the laptop's CPU was probably bad and I needed to get a new laptop.However she was positive that the hard drive was ok. Darby recommended an ASUS laptop and upon arrival was able to save all my files, construct an enclave that provided a backup to my new laptop and provided excellent training on the new backup procedures. I cannot say enough about her performance. She did an excellent job and I would highly recommend and use her services again in the future.

Darby and Kyle have both been by to troubleshoot problems, clean up computers, do whatever is needed. We're very happy with their knowledge and responsiveness.

Very well. My new laptop was up and running within an hour and all of my files and photos from the old laptop are on my new one.

The repair was done quickly, smoothly and very competently. My PC would not boot; the error message was "BOOT MGR MISSING". I tried all the internet solutions, and tried to repair the Windows 7 installation. Nothing worked. I sent an email to Darby and she responded in a few hours, and offered to pick up my PC the next day. She was on time, knew what she was doing, and fixed the PC in a couple days. I was going to use a big-box Geek service, but they are not equipped to handle complex PC configurations. And the Geeks could not get to me until Sunday - by which time Darby and already picked up my PC, figured out the problem, and fixed it. THIS IS THE BEST PC REPAIR SERVICE YOU CAN ASK FOR. IT IS WONDERFUL TO MEET THE PERSON WHO WILL ACTUALLY FIX YOUR PC. THE REPAIR IS FAST, CHEAP AND EXTREMELY CONVENIENT. USE THIS SERVICE. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Don't hire a GEEK - hire a PROFESSIONAL.

We wanted a new computer to replace a 5 year old desktop. Darby asked how we wanted to use the equipment and provided a machine that had all the features we needed and more for a price no one could beat. She delivered it on time and it has been working ever since. We will add a better monitor someday and call her again. JAH

Darby came by on the day she said and removed the virus. She also cleaned out a lot of useless programs that was slowing my computer down. She takes the time to explain what she is doing and askes if you really need this program or not. When in doubt she will suggest what you should do. There is Never any high presure. I have had her work on my computers many times over the past seven years that I have known her. I have always been happy with her work and prices. I have recommed to several friends and they have all been happy with her work. You do not have to lug your computer to a store and not know who is working on it ? You can trust her !

Great Service, start to finish

I had an emergency situation in which my computer would not allow me to get onto the internet. It started last night and continued this morning. I called the office and spoke to one of the technicians. I told him that I had a problem which I considered an EMERGENCY. He was at my door in twenty minutes. It was remarkable. He took care of the problem within half an hour. I was amazed.

Great Job! She was multi-tasking all the time. She also took the time to explain thing in a way I could understand. She was here for over 1 1/2 hours but only billed for 1 1/2. Her card is permanently affixed to the computer.

On-time. Provided excellent service, quickly. Will use them again. Great family owned business.

Mobile PC Solutions certainly are masters! It has been my experience with other companies that they insist that the machine must be first be brought in and examined offering no suggestions over the telephone not wishing to provide advice without being paid for it. As described in detail already, that is certainly not the philosophy at this women owned family business. When in the future one of our desktop or laptop computers are in need of repair, we will definitely employ Mobile PC Solutions! We highly recommend this company and will advise all our friends to use it as well.

I used them twice. I liked the woman that came, she owns the company and was very easy to work with. The only thing was they didn't transfer all of his files. We discovered this later. And then her son came to set-up my wireless which wasn't working and he said he fixed that but it wasn't fixed. They were nice to work with but I wasn't really satisfied with their service. I would not use them again.

Called at 2:15 p.m. 10/15, set up appointment for 3:30 p.m. today (10/16). The young man arrived on time with several fans to find one that fit. Finished within a half hour. Excellent service, no complaints.

WOW! Was I ever glad I called Mobile PC Solutions! It was Friday afternoon and I had a boatload of computer work to do over the weekend. I called Mobile PC Solutions based on the Angie's List recommendations and Darby was able to fit me in that afternoon. She arrived right on schedule and had diagnosed the problem within five minutes. She gave me the diagnosis, the alternatives and the estimates. I asked her about a couple of additional items and she made recommendations regarding them. Overall, she spent close to three hours repairing and updating the two computers. Darby was very responsive, considerate of cost, extremely pleasent to work with and extremely knowledgeable. Would I call her again or recommend her to others? ABSOLUTELY!,

The computer started acting slow a week before the crash. When it finally did crash, I called Angie's. I chose M PC S due to the write-ups and the closeness to my location. Made an appointment. Darby arrived as scheduled, explained what had happened and said she would have to shop the machine to fix it and would take approx. a day. The cost estimate was clear. The machine was returned fixed the next morning and worked fine. She suggested an upgrade and again, explained the why of the suggestion. I agreed. Upgrade was installed and the mchine worked even better. The final price was very close to the original estimate as explained initially. Darby took an extra few minutes to hook-up and test a printer which had been "un-hooked-up" for nearly a year! In essence, it was a great experience and, amazingly, I was able to understand everything that went on; the how, why, etc. Noon one day, to noon the next including a shop repair is more than pretty good, imho, in today's environment. Again, tailored and situational competence work well, I think, when talkiing about M PC S. I would use them in a flash should the need be, and would surely suggest them to anyone.

Darby responded within minutes to my email inquiry. We set up a time for her to visit. She arrived on the dot at the scheduled time. In less than 30 minutes, she had identified the problem, downloaded and installed the current printer driver, and had my wife up and running again, all for a very reasonable fee. Highly recommend.

There isn't much that Darby and her team can't do. They are extremely knowledgeable and honest about what services are necessary, and they charge a fair price.
