It was wonderful. I'll use them going forward for any of our HVAC needs! Everyone from the receptionist on the phone to the installers were wonderful!

The technician was polite and honest in telling me that he couldn't help me.

I would consider using them for other heating and cooling issues. They were a big help on the phone. When I called them to schedule the diagnostic test and described the problem the woman on the other line immediately told me they didn't do base board heating. She also said that she would contact Angie's List about a refund and also made sure I let them (AL) know I needed a refund. They were polite and forth right, when in reality they could have not mentioned that they don't service my problem, came out to the rental property (which is in a different state and tenant occupied) and taken the $29.00 for a 5 minute walk through. Companies like this are exactly why I use Angie's List.

The person that came by was punctual and appeared well informed. He was very accommodating to questions by my tenant and I were asking. His answers definitely helped me become better informed about the issue -- but I was able to identify areas where he was not as informed. My condo is an older one - and he seemed unfamiliar with the equipment being used. I ended up finding a different provider, that was familiar with that type of equipment - and cheaper by $1,500. This company might do better with newer constructions.

It was okay. There was nothing wrong with their service. Everything was good.

I could not be more pleased with the service I received. Carl was extremely professional and showed up ontime. This was the day of a really bad cold spell in the Washington, D.C. area and our heat stopped working. My husband was traveling and I was home alone, pregnant, with my 2 yr old daughter. I called Air Treatment Co and they sent Carl over that same day! Carl was extremely nice and very knowledable. He gave me some sound advice about our furnace. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and get our heat working again. He cleaned out the furnace area and even helped repair a part of our duct work that was falling apart. So glad I found this company!!

My initial experience with Air Treatment Company was amazing, but I later had a few regrets. I might use them again, but I would ask more questions, and manage them more closely and carefully. My HVAC (furnace) blower had failed and I was without Air Conditioning on a Friday night / Saturday morning in June. They had an Angie's List coupon at a very low price for diagnosis of an HVAC system, and a very strong Angie's List rating, and so I called them to come out. It was an amazing coupon deal - with no exclusion or surcharge for weekend service. My sense was that they regretted this as an oversight in designing the coupon, but they fully honored both the letter and spirit of the deal. I received premium weekend service at a discounted weekday price. The service person seemed to be extremely professional, thorough, and competent. After some discussions, he convinced us that the best course of action would be to replace our entire furnace unit. Quotes were provided for different options. We haggled a bit, and arrived at a deal which included a free upgrade to a 4 inch filter system to replace the 1 inch slot I already had. We live in an area with massive amounts of seasonal pollen, and I have family members with allergies, so this was a big plus -or so it seemed. The installation team came and went and did a superior job in most respects. The installation was on time, clean and neat. The electrical and gas work appeared to be done with craftsmanship and appeared to be safe and professional. They removed the old unit. They cleaned up after themselves. Air conditioning worked again just as a heat wave was coming. Happiness. It wasn't until a few months later that the first issue cropped up. When it was finally time to use the system for heat, sometime in September, it simply didn't work. The blower would blow (as it had all summer for the air conditioning function) but no heat was forthcoming. I'm an engineer, and reasonably competent with mechanical things, and I hoped it was something simple, so I looked at the system myself. I don't remember the details but I took off the cover and was able to decipher some sort of diagnostic code and figure out that a sensor or blower or something wasn't working. I guessed at which thing it was, and flipped a switch, and like magic, it worked just like it was supposed to work. Slight disappointment, but still happy. The second issue that cropped up is that filter I mentioned earlier. As the system began to approach the 4-5 month of use, I noticed that the air filter wasn't working as well, and I wanted to replace it. The recommended timeline is ~6 months, but I have no problem replacing it a little more often, knowing that we have so many allergens in the air. I opened the filter cover and could see two things: (1) that it was labeled 20x205x4 inches. (This made perfect sense, since my previous system used a 20x25x1 inch filter.) (2) It was a lower quality (MERV 8) filter. The lower quality filter wasn't a really big deal. I was accustomed to using higher grade (FPR 10) filters, and I could just replace it with the type that I want. Or so I thought. The great news (or so I thought) is that this type of filter is widely available, at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc. So a paid ~$40 for a high grade Honeywell filter to bring it home only to find out . . . it doesn't fit. It turns out that 20x25x4 inches doesn't really mean 20x25x4 inches. Everything is a fraction of an inch bigger or smaller. And the "upgraded" 4 inch filter frame uses a filter size that is not readily available any place that I frequent. And, you guessed it, ATC were prepared to sell me a replacement (low grade) filter for $45. Of course, I'd have to come and get it from their offices. To their credit, once I pointed out that this would be a very inconvenient option for me, they directed me to a website where I can buy them for $20 plus shipping charges. Problem solved, EXCEPT, that there is no higher grade / higher quality filters available to catch the finer air particulates. So, unless I want to pay someone to come out and replace the air filter frame in my duct system, I'm stuck with lower quality air filters for the foreseeable future. I'm not happy about that. The customer service agent seemed very surprised that they didn't explain these things to me when they proposed the work, but they most assuredly did not. If they had, I would have would have asked them to install a Honeywell frame, or other standard size, even if I had to go out and buy it myself. So overall, a B for these guys. Really, and A-plus in many areas, a C in not doing final quality-checking of the installation so that my heat would work, and an D in reducing the quality of my air filtering system.

Let me begin by saying we have been loyal, enthusiastic customers of Air Treatment in Vienna for over 15 years. During that time we have had our major AC and heating systems replaced by them and a new water heater installed. They do excellent work. I also appreciate that the technicians are well versed in the capabilities and functioning of the equipment. They take care with e work and are very professional. They have a business philosophy that focuses on keeping customers for a long time. In this case, the installer did an excellent job and made another minor repair he saw was needed in our system.

The technician came in and diagnosed the issue as a bad igniter. The part costs $30.00 and he told us it would be $389.00 total. I tried to find out the breakdown since the part is very cheap and the time to put it on would be minimal. He said they don't do that. He also said that they add the hourly diagnostic rate into the total which was confusing for me since I had paid $29.00 through Angie's List for that service and was told on the phone that the $29.00 would be deducted and if it was an easy fix, I wouldn't even be charged labor. I guess the technician thought differently. We ended up not getting it fixed and are looking for someone who isn't fixated on money.

No AC on main level the day after 4th of July. Guests in our spare room had roasted all night without our awareness... Arrived for repair within 2 hours of call. The tech not only allowed me to watch but explained in detail the AC system during his diagnostic. He was prepared with the necessary part and explained all during the repair. Also gave advice on proper care and maintenance of the system. He then remained to ensure proper cooling was established --- I was so grateful for such prompt service, appropriate repair, and above and beyond explanation and consideration to explain. Will definitely be our "go to" hvac provider!

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. I signed a contract so they would keep my house with A/C for twice a year. They were fine. I scheduled and they came quick, they were fine.

They gave us a 0% financing through a program they had, so it's worked out pretty well. Their price was better than all the other pricing I have seen and the quality was good.

It didn't work out good for us. The diagnosis the technician gave us, we didn't buy it so we got a second opinion from somebody else who came in and fixed it. I wouldn't say he was lousy because I think he tried his best.

Called them first thing in the morning and they were there 2 hours later. They fixed it in about an hour. The problem was the capacitator and a fuse was blown. They replaced both and everything works great. They did warn me that my A/C was old, the compressor is starting to go bad. There is no guarantee how long the repair will work but the price was right to fix it and it got us through the heat of the summer. They were very professional and courteous. Will use them again.
