Air Treatment Company

Told me that my HVAC unit wasn't worth anything, that it's too old, and I should replace it immediately. Yes, it's old (20+ years), but it's been maintained well and has been working smoothly. Came back and gave me an estimate that was $2K more than another company for the same model. Also tried to sell me on the high-end wi-fi enabled thermostat that I didn't really want or need. There's other good contractors in the NOVA area that's worth your money.

Crystal took all my info over the phone to have someone come out. In addition, I wasn't going to be home when they came by because I had to work. They had no problem taking a lockbox code, doing the diagnosis while I wasn't here, contacting me via text on my Google Voice number, etc. It was really easy to setup the appointment, and it was great they were able to fit me in so quickly. Cameron came out to diagnose the issue for me in the afternoon the next day. He was nice enough to inform me I had a leak in my mechanical room in the basement where my HVAC is, which wasn't there the night before. I asked him to turn off the main water valve in the basement for me since it was going to be a couple hours before I came home, and it was very nice of him to do this. Cameron told me I would need to replace the capacitor for $269.50 and the contactor for $214. I had another company come out to give me a quote for repair, and they were able to get the system running without replacing parts. However, the system continued to work intermittently over the next couple days, and in the end the capacitor and contactor had to be replaced -- Cameron was right all along.

The price was not right and they charged a lot for a single job. Instead of reducing a price, they repaired another thing for me and that's just okay. Finally, it's working now. They know their business but the price was too high. The quality is good and they're quick. I think they're on time.

I loved their availability - they were able to come the same date we called. but i must say i was really disappointed with their professionalism. when they called me after diagnosing the problem, i was driving. they told me in a very unprofessional to pull over within minutes to pay before they start working on it since he didnt have time to wait. Professionalism is very important to a Customer, at least to me and unfortuntely i was disappointed. I didnt have time to compare their price and quality with some else and hence i cannot comment on that.

Had a home inspection done on a house I was planning to purchase. The home inspector noticed that the HVAC unit in the house wasn't working properly and was either due for maintenance or needed to be replace all together. I was able to call Air Treatment Co. that same day to check the unit out and there technician Cameron was able to meet my wife at the home and explained that the unit didn't need to be replaced. Cameron wrote an estimate and I was able to give it to the seller for them to pay for the repairs. My wife said Cameron was excellent and explained everything to her and was extremely nice. I was able to save $350 in the long run.

Went well. The technician was extremely informative, and didn't pressure me by trying to upsell me additional work.

I came home late on Wed to discover the A/C unit in upstairs wasn't working. Early next day, I called Air Treatment Co. and was able to schedule same day service. I had called 5 other places previously who couldn't come for up to 5 days and after the weekend. The initial diagnostic seemed like a good deal compared to the other offers from Angie's listings. The tech was instantly able to diagnose that the primary and secondary drainage pipes had backed up. I was charged roughly $240 for to drain and fix those -- the AC was back in service. I intentionally left a N/A on the price rating b/c I'm not sure what a service to drain those pipes typically costs, however, the initial diagnosis price is def an A rating. I would rank the overall experience A+.

Our A/C stopped working and it was not cooling and part of the house was very hot. The person from ATC was able to diagnose it correctly and pointed out that its a failed condenser. It was a Carrier unit and we had the dealer replace it but the diagnosis from aTC was spot on.

Everybody was very professional, from the estimator (Phil) to the installation techs (Ted and Dee), to the tech who tested and tuned the system once the weather was warm enough (Carl). There were a few hiccups with electrical wiring and a peculiar smell just after the installation, but they addressed everything thoroughly and were very responsive to our concerns. We will definitely use them again in the future. They have a long-standing reputation and history which is well-deserved.

They came out and told me they do not service our type air conditioning unit. I am seeking a refund from Angie's List.

They are prompt and I have used their service for 10 years now. They always seem to be fair and have taken good care of me. I feel the contract price is reasonable. I have been happy with them.

Everything went fine, just as it has for the past 40-plus years. We have used Air Treatment since the late 1960s for all our heating and air conditioning needs. They have installed several air conditioners and gas furnaces, handled all of our service work. When the air conditioner quit during a heat wave, Air Treatment showed up promptly and fixed it. When we had furnace problems during a winter cold spell, an Air Treatment tech spent a Sunday evening working on it until heat was restored. I have found Air Treatment staff to be very knowledgable, personable and helpful. Some folks may consider their prices to be on the high side, but with Air Treatment I feel I am getting good value for what I spend.

I purchased the Angies list deal to have the unit diagnosed. The technician was very thorough and very courteous. I had used them to install my whole house humidifier previously. Before I give the full review, let me give a little background. We recently bought a house and before we purchased it, the furnance had gone out and the previous owners had replaced it. With that said the technician soon discovered the problem. A coil had been cut. It was either done when the furnance was installed or when they installed the humidifier. The tech told me since they couldn't determine who did it that they would fix it at no material or labor cost. It's refreshing to deal with an honest and reliable company for once. I will definitely use them again.

Overall, they were very good. I had expected a supervisor to be present during the work to ensure that everything was done according to the specs and that is what they had told me, but some minor things were not done properly and I had to call them back. They were very prompt and immediately fixed the issues. I've have had no problems with the new system and I am not an expert on HVACs, so I assume the rest of the technical stuff was done properly.

Had a problem with the AC unit in my rental. Couldn't find anyone to come out for a diagnostic for less than $80. Knowing how the game works, I didn't want to pay a diagnostic fee that would be "waived" if I used the company for a repair or replacement. No sense overpaying by 50% for a repair or replacement just to save $80. I found Air Treatment Co's Angie's list deal and scooped it up. They were able to send out a tech next day. There were some scheduling difficulties (more on my end, not on theirs). The team was extremely professional and was great about keeping in touch to make sure that neither I, nor their technician, would be waiting around too long. Their technician arrived 10 minutes before me. I had been hoping for a clogged condenser line, but turned out my AC unit was leaking refrigerant. Rather than asking him for a quote to repair a busted refrigerant line on a 12 year old AC, we started talking about replacements. The technician was extremely thorough and contacted the office. The technician said he wouldn't be able to provide a quote to me, but we scheduled a meeting with his sales guy the next day. The salesman that arrived was on time (again, showing up before I was onsite), friendly and knowledgeable. He provided a competitive quote (lower than what others had quoted) and offered an additional discount. Ultimately I've decided not to go with Air Treatment because I was able to find another quality company that was willing to do the work at a better price. I'd give them a "A" on the diagnostic deal since I would not have contacted them otherwise. I wasn't able to give them an "A" overall because they couldn't quote a price at the first meeting and I had to come back out a second time for a quote. They did well on price compared to some other companies, but I am not able to give them an "A" on price because I was able to find another company who provided a substantially lower quote with twice as long of a labor warranty period.
