They wanted to charge $5753.00 to fix some corrections on the rough ins already installed in one bathroom in an addition and also install rough in plumbing to the attic. All of the walls were exposed and should not have taken a professional longer than 4 or 5 hours to install everything. I ended up doing everything myself. It took me about 8 hours and $480 of materials. I don't understand why they wanted $6,000 for a half/full day job.

 + 0 moreCascade Services LLC (also on Angie's List) came to my home in May 2014 for the annual HVAC maintenance. Since I was so pleased with their work, I called to ask if they could refer someone to replace my loop system water heater. Robert suggested Wacker Plumbing. I am so happy that he recommended and I used Wacker Plumbing. From the first phone call to Wacker Plumbing, I was impressed. Richard was very helpful and patient with all of my questions. The ladies that answer the phone were always friendly and professional. They also almost always answered the phone on the first ring! There was a bit of confusion about the capacity of the water heater. While I was talking with Richard on the phone, I happened to see one of his vans in my condo parking lot. Richard contacted the gentleman and he came to look at my water heater and took a picture. Richard ascertained what loop system water heater would best work as the replacement. RIchard quoted me a fair price for the work. I had also received an estimate from someone else. Larry that performed the work on 25 June 2014 is absolutely awesome. Larry is experienced, particular about his work, professional, courteous, and takes pride in doing a good job. Josh was Larry's helper. Josh seemed eager to learn and was courteous as well. Both were very respectful of my home. I could not have made a better choice. Given the quality and work ethics of Larry, any fears were set aside. In the future, as plumbing needs arise, I will not hesitate to contact Wacker Plumbing. It is a pleasure to have a local, quality company such as this!!

They are very professional, do a great job, clean up after themselves, explain what they are doing, have great prices, take pride in a job well done, are personable, show up on time, follow up as needed. They are easy to schedule and gave me a feeling of confidence. Through part of it, Brian the master plumber had an apprentice with him, which was really cool. It didn't slow the job down at all and it was neat to see the care and quality work being taught to the next gen. I would not hesitate to have them do more work if i need it. Other new homeowners will appreciate this: I felt safe using them. Not everyone you bring into your home to do work makes you feel that way!
Description of Work: I originally called Wacker when some handymen/contractors that I use for odd jobs told me I had pinhole leaks in the copper pipes all over my basement and therefore all over the house, and that I needed a full repipe. As i did not believe them (I knew one pipe had some pinholes, but the other pipes were fine), I wanted to call in an expert. I found Wacker on Angie's LIst, and have been so pleased. The day they were supposed to come check the pipes, I had a sump pump failure and flooded basement. They brought a sump pump with them, and replaced the failed one before they checked the pipes, and as I suspected there was only one pipe at risk and a whole house repipe was not necessary. I did not tell them I suspected that my contractors were wrong (or dishonest--not sure which) just said I wanted to know if a repipe was necessary. I think it is indicative of their character that they never tried to steer me down that path, in fact identified a much simpler (and less expensive to fix) problem that was partly them and partly an electrician. They fixed the pipe with the pinholes and repaired an outside leaky faucet. They also fixed connectors to the hot water heater (an existing problem I had them check). Because I liked them so much, I had them come back and build me a utility sink (harder than it sounds because the sink is physically below the drain pipe and other than water coming in for the washing machine, the basement was not plumbed for water so they had to put in a lot of new pipe), and install new faucets in my master bath and guest bath. The cost listed above covers: the new sump pump, the new sink, including all the new pipes and the pump to get the water draining, the fixes to the hot water heater connections, the new run of copper where the pinhole leaks were, a new sump pump lid (had to be customized to also fit a radon amelioration system and a dehumidifier hose), the leaky faucet outside, and two new faucets upstairs (I provided faucets; they installed).

Description of Work: There was a leak in our sink plumbing, but instead of just fixing it, he replaced all of the plumbing, which was all installed incorrectly, and was friendly and flexible about my request to replace the garbage disposal and move the disposal to the right side of the sink at the same time.

And they fixed the leak the other handyman created by taping the pipes on the original sink install. Also tightened up the faucet handles which was nice. They were very expedient as well. Wacker is not cheap but they provide very high quality services and are very time efficient. More than worth the money.

 + 0 moreI was looking for a specific model tank. They were the only (of 4) companies who took the time to find it and charged me less than MSRP (even for special order.) Arrived when they stated they would arrive. Communicated effectively. Professional demeanor and pleasant to speak to. When the new tank arrived on the job site, they inspected it and it had a dent in the side. It was cosmetic BUT they proactively told me they were going to go back to the distributor and get another one since they knew there were 2 in stock. No issues, no attitude, nothing but good customer service. I give them kudos for this only because I feel it should be expected but lacking in most companies. They also re-routed some of the pipes and cleaned up a few un-needed bends that the builder had plumbed with the original install. They did not charge me for the extra time or copper. It totaled about $150 or so, based on my experience on costs from other home plumbing jobs in the past. What I like most is that they seem honest and are a local business. They should be given at least a call for a quote. I found them to be the cheapest and luckily they are honest and customer friendly!
Description of Work: Replaced gas hot water heater. Added a whole house water filter to the system. Added an expansion tank. Installed a new main line and 2 bib valves and a new pressure reducing valve.

 + 0 moreIt didn't go. If they weren't even willing to give me an estimate I wasn't going to walk into a repair situation blind and not knowing even an approximation as to what I will pay. I will go with one of the other companies who were happy to come out and schedule an estimate for me.
Description of Work: I called to get an estimate for three plumbing repairs in my home - a leaky tub that had leaked into family room below, a leaky valve over water heater, and a rusty sprinkler system valve. They refused to come out and do an estimate. All I could get out of the receptionist was that they charge $140 for the first 30 minutes and then $40 for each 15 minutes after that. She said they can do most repairs within an hour. I tried explaining that the rusty valve could involve some pipe replacement so I wanted to get an estimate as to what I was looking at and she said they don't do estimates for that kind of stuff. She was polite, but I am not going to commit to a job and then end up having costly repairs I wasn't expecting. Why would they not even come take a look? Easy decision not to use them....

 + -1 moreI was getting a lot of water hammer through the pipes, so I checked the water pressure at my hose spigot and it was a whopping 110 PSI... I went to the pressure control valve, turned it down, but the pressure didn't drop any at all... At this point I got on Angie's List, found all the great reviews for Wacker Plumbing, and gave them a call... I got a quick appointment for early the following week, and Jamal showed up right on time... I told him the problem, and he knew right away it was a bad water pressure control valve... He changed it quickly, and the pressure check showed my water pressure was back down in the normal range... We haven't had any water hammer since... I was very pleased with Wacker Plumbing... Making an appointment was a breeze, they were right on time, and they fixed my problem, and did so quickly... The only thing I question is the price of $320.00, which I consider a bit steep... I would think a water pressure control valve is $100 or loss, meaning the 45 minutes to an hour the plumber was here cost me $220.00... That's pricey... Maybe those valves are a lot more than I think - I don't know... But in the end, the job got done right and my problem was solved... That's the bottom line, and I would recommend Wacker Plumbing to anyone needing that kind of work done... Thanks, Jamal!!
