Description of Work: Tub and shower in guest bathroom had never had good pressure. We had another plumber (MY Plumber) try, unsuccessfully, to fix the problem last year. Problem actually seemed worse after he worked on it. We rarely use the bathroom but had guests coming in this weekend, and in preparation, discovered that, not only was the pressure terrible, but that there was no hot water at all. We called our regular plumber, Wacker Plumbing (not sure why we tried a different plumber last time. Live and learn, right?). Wacker sent someone out the same day. He discovered that the pressure problem was because of solder caught in the line. He thought it had probably been there since the house was built and may have even gotten pushed into a slightly worse position when the previous plumber turned the water back on after trying his fix. The solder was in a very difficult place to reach and he thought for a while he would have to cut out some pipe and replace it in order to get the solder out. Fortunately, after numerous tries, he was successful. Unfortunately, there was still no hot water. He discovered that the ball (likely replaced by My Plumber) had broken. He'd never seen one of that design and said it looked like, even when new, it wouldn't last more than a year or two. He said normally (assuming the typical design), these almost never break, and because of that, he didn't have one on his truck. Another Wacker plumber had by this time stopped by to help and I was afraid I would get billed for both plumbers plus another trip out to replace what was probably a $10 part. Instead, one plumber left and the other went to Home Depot, got a replacement ball, came back and fixed the problem. On top of that, they only charged us the minimum charge, which includes a travel charge and the first half hour of work, plus the parts fees (I also had him replace a couple internal parts while he was in there, as a preventative measure. So, bottom line, they were here for probably 1 1/2 hours and we only got charged for a half hour. In my book, that's excellent service, in this day and age.
