TruGreen Lawn Care - 5110

Overall experience has been positive, but two gripes about their communication (see detail) Do follow up to ensure they did take a soil sample. Do call them if they don't hold to a service appointment. They have been very responsive to customer complaints.

I’m comfortable with their service. I have used them for about 2 years now. I had a couple of issues with them. I thought they were coming more than they needed to. I called them up and the problem was taken care of. I'm happy with the quality of Tru Green's work.

Finally got rid of them this spring, and with Chesepeake Lawn service, the lawn started to look great immediately. What a waste of time and money with tru-green.

They are okay. They aren't the best in the world, but they have a reasonable price. I have not used anyone else. I would use them again.

My lawn used to be dead, but now it's thick and green. They always let me know when I can let my dogs out after the treatment. They are very courteous.

Things are working out pretty well for us with them. We have used them for a good number of years. We definitely like their services. We probably used their advertisement in the mail. They are pretty good. We get what we pay for.

Terrible service, lots of excuses....the weather was bad, we have to service your lawn with a commercial truck, we forgot to call, etc.

My Mom has used them for years and she has the prettiest lawn on our street. I started using them in 2010 and my yard is now one of the prettiest on the block as well. My lawn has improved 300% from what it was back in 2009. I'd been struggling trying to get it healthy and for grass to grow in places where it wouldn't grow before. Now that I am using this company I get compliments on my yard all the time. I highly recommend this company. Mary Rockville

Everything was performed as promised. The yard has improved dramatically and is much closer to what we desire.

They are fine and I have not had any problems with them. They will come back out if there are any problems and you pay per treatment. Their pricing is not out of line and they are very punctual; they come early in the morning. They usually call a day ahead to let me know when they are coming. I will use them again in the future.

We chose not to use them because they were overly aggressive in promoting their services and products, which made us uneasy.

When I first called Trugreen the sales person was very helpful they were able to get square footage from google and the year maintenance plan seemed reasonable he was offering a 10% discount for prepaying and 10% as a new customer. After calling a couple other companies with no response I agreed to the year long lawn maintenance plan and I was told to expect someone out within a week. That was on Thursday. On Monday another company came out to give an estimate which I had forgot I had scheduled, and there estimate was over $70 better. So I called Trugreen to request a price match. This customer service person on the phone gave me an email to send the estimate to she said they would let me know and that they would be out Wednesday to service the lawn. I tried sending the estimate but the email address was no good which was annoying. So on Wednesday when they were supposed to come out, no one showed up, nor did they on Thursday or Friday. I called Friday while on a break at work inquiring what had happened and she called the local office and said no one was answering and that she didn't have an answer for me. So I asked about the price match and then I got "disconnected". I had to go back to work so I wasn't able to call back till Monday. At this point I was so annoyed with the fact that no one had even tried to call me with any explanation as to what was going on or why I had been "disconnected". So when I got a different cusomer service person on Monday I explained all the had happened so far and the same 2 questions I had been asking, when were they supposed to come out, and could I get a price match. This customer service person told me they were going to come out Tuesday and she would put in a request to have some one call to let me know with in 24 hours. Well I'm sorry at this point that wasn't good enough, I wanted the price match or I was cancelling their service. Within a couple hour I got a call but wasn't home and the message they left said that I had already recieved a 20% discount so there was nothing they could do. So when I recieved that message I promply called back and cancelled the service. Oh but the money wont be back in my account for a coulple weeks : ( I'm not happy about that at all! I would never recommend this company to any one, EVER. They were not puctual at all and their professionalism stinks. Plus their prices weren't that great. I ended up going with Lawn Doctor, so far they've been great.

We used them for one year. They fertilized our yard. The yard did become a lot more green. They did an okay job. A couple of times they treated the wrong yard. They did come back and do our yard. We had a contract with them.

They do a good job. My lawn looks beautiful.

This is our third year of using them, and we are not seeing a drastic improvement. We are still seeing weeds in various spots. They sometimes forget to come out and do the spreading, and we have to call them. We are going to discontinue using them in the future because we are not impressed with them.

We saw an immediate improvement in our lawn after using TruGreen. We had been using Togo, but grew tired of seeing our neighbor's lawn looking so much better while using TruGreen. I only wish we had done it sooner. We thought we were saving money, and that the chemicals used by TruGreen couldn't make that much difference. We were wrong. Even the grass seed they planted grew better than what we tried the previous year.

They were very fine and seemed very informative but I didn't go with them. I had no problem with them at all. They did the estimate over the phone and they didn't come out. They were very responsive and they gave me a quick answer. I think they looked at the property by looking at one of the google satellite images to get a feel on the square footage to be treated. They seemed very knowledgeable and told me exactly what they were going to do. They were polite. One of my neighbors did hire them. They were more expensive and the cost was more.

My lawn is in need of rejuvenation due to clover and weeds overtaking the grass. I contacted Tru-green and they assured me their aeration and seeding would do the trick. However, what they do is simply aerate and then run a broadcast seeder over the lawn. This is not (as I found out) enough to repair a damaged lawn. I watered as directed but after 3 weeks I only had sporadic new grass and lots of bare spots. I should not have been tempted by their low price for the over-seeding. I have learned my lesson and will move on to a different service in the spring. Years ago I used Lawn Doctor's "power seeding" and it worked great. Though it is more expensive at least I won't be outside looking like a fool moving a sprinkler around and watering a lawn that will never grow grass.

They do a very good job. The only problem I have with them is they tend to a pester you to do additional work. But they do an excellent job and they give great advice.

I am pleased with the service so far.

TruGreen is awful. We paid them almost $1000 to seed, fertilize and care for our lawn for a season and when all was said and done we had a lot of weeds and dead grass. Our lawn looked the worst it has ever looked.

It was an on going thing, but they don?t ask you to sign a contract. I told them that I wanted to be at home when they were doing it because I wanted to watch what they were doing. They were coming and going over the lawn couple of times and they were done. They weren?t doing the full job. So, I called them and told them that they weren?t doing a good job and I didn?t want it anymore. I told them that I wanted my lawn taken care of properly. So, I canceled them. I used to pay about $45 a month. Their price was fine and fair for a good job, but what they did wasn?t good. Their quality of work was terrible. They were coming once a month. They made many phone calls, but I am not going to use them again.

RUN AWAY! Sadly we paid for lawn care and tree/shrub service up front for a year, to include seeding/aerating and grub control. Don't know what possessed me. Bottom line, our lawn looks horrible - worst in the neighborhood ,and we are the only ones to contract with a lawn care service. And we lost 3 hydrangeas at $50 a shrub. I am an avid gardener, but don't have the time to keep up the lawn, etc. I had to call them countless times to get them to come out for treatments. They'd leave reciepts saying they did something, but clearly did not. In fact, I wonder if they weren't actually applying grass and shrub killer. Our front lawn is dead - due to a fungus and is full of grubs & beetles - despite their supposed treatment. I've never experienced such horrid service from any company. Despite our NUMEROUS calls, etc - they have failed to do anything but kill our lawn and some of our landscape. To add insult to injury - even after I had called and demanded to meet with a manager, a "tech" came by while we were at work and "applied weed control and fertilizer" leaving a note that said our "lawn looked great" - when clearly it was deader than a doornail. We are considering taking them to small claims court we are so furious. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Trugreen technicians performed two weed control applications (pre-emergent and general weed treatment). Weeks later, there was no reduction in weed population (crab grass, chick weeds, clover, dandelions, etc.) and no indication that weeds were dying or even affected by the treatments. The yard is now loaded with crab grass that their pre-emergent treatment was supposed to prevent. I contacted Trugreen and requested a re-treatment. I was home when the technician arrived to re-treat the lawn and showed him the 2 acre treatment area. I went about my business and checked on the technician a few minutes later. He was already driving away. There is no way that he treated 2 acres of lawn in the 15 minutes that included the time that we were walking around the yard. Needless to say, there was no weed reduction from the re-treatment and I called the Sterling, VA office again to explain the problem. This time I cancelled the service. I later received a call from the corporate office begging me to continue my service. So I gave them another chance on the condition that a manager would schedule an in-person evaluation and discussion with me directly. Trugreen showed up the next morning while I was gone and supposedly evaluated/treated the lawn and left me a written message. So once again, they didn't perform the agreed-to service. So now I've cancelled my service again. Supposedly, Trugreen guarantees results and I saw no results. Now I know why: they were taking my money and their technicians did not perform the contracted service. In my opinion, Trugreen's service is a scam. When a customer threatens to cancel the service, they have many ways to beg for second, third, and fourth chances. What they really need is a competent service and they wouldn't have to beg to retain customers.

I have nice lawn and it looks very nice. My lawn used to be nothing but weeds, but now it is grass. This is the second summer they have worked on it.
