Great! The Shiner crew knocked it out in one day. Shingles and supplies were placed on roof a few days prior to the install via a crane. Installation in January 2018.

When our housing tract was built, the roofing contractors who built the roofs did not follow best practices. As a result, the homes in our community have had issues with leaks and falling shingles. Our HOA president used Shiner and referred us. I spoke to several other local Roofers. Shiner's estimates were reasonable, not the highest, not the lowest. What impressed me was that their estimator (Mason) had installed several roofs himself. As a result, he was able to justify/explain the costs. Unlike other estimators, he did not try to pressure us with sales tactics for additional costs. He did a very detailed assessment of our current roof and provided detailed recommendations which he was able to logically justify. The roofing team, who installed our roof, was very professional. They came on time, cleaned up each day. Their cleaning job was actually meticulous. We did not find any stray nails, debris. The roof itself is very beautiful. Mason helped us select materials which aligned with our HOA requirements. I have recommend Shiner several times to our friends in Mclean and Great Falls.

Shiner insisted that both my wife and I attend the estimate, so we both took time off work. The estimator wasn’t able to provide an estimate during the appointment due to a computer issue. We never received an estimate in spite of folllowing up directly with the estimator and the main office. This was for a DC row house flat roof, so nothing really complicated.

This was the second roof repair performed for us by Shiner Roofing within the past six months. In both cases, the overall work performed was excellent and both technicians pleasant to deal with and professional. Even though the second leak was not identified the first time around, it did not become readily apparent until we experienced heavy thunderstorms late this summer and the water came through the ceiling into the kitchen. However, Shiner came out quickly and repaired it within a reasonable amount of time. They even offered to provide a temporary fix until something more permanent could be done, but we declined since we had already found the leak and had taken steps to mitigate the damage until the work could be performed.

Fine. Jack from Shiner came on the scheduled day, checked the roof, and answered some questions. No charge, which was appreciated even though promised when we replaced the roof.

Estimator was excellent. Provided a firm price which was billed as promised. Staff was excellent.

Noticed a couple red flags through my initial interaction with Shiner: no call back after 5 days, salesman suggested complete gutter replacement prior to any inspection, and they immediately used my email for their sales flier without my permission. I called and left a message on Saturday morning... by Thursday afternoon I hadn't heard back so I called again. I got someone immediately the second try. I explained that the nails securing my gutters have become loose and caused the gutters to pull away from the facia. The sales person told me I would likely need a complete gutter replacement. This recommendation was provided prior to inspection, without knowing the age of the gutter system, and seemed like I was being primed to spend more money than I needed to in order to fix my issue. Shiner's schedule didn't allow them to even provide an inspection for a month so I kindly said no thank you. I understand if beginning work is a month out but I wanted more immediate attention. The sales person was a nderstanding and we hung up. The next day I received promotional materials in my inbox from Shiner. The only reason I provided my email and other information was in anticipation for an inspection and estimate. I never was asked if I'd like to be on a mailing list nor did I give my consent. None of these issues are egregious or substantial but, I've become aware of early warning signs when hiring contractors. These signs suggest that Shiner is more concerned with making a dollar than helping solve an issue. They have every right to earn a dollar but it shouldn't come without regard for the service they provide and the customers they serve.

Shiner told me that they no longer do small repairs. However, they referred me to another company that might be able to take care of my problem. I was impressed with their courtesy.

They were the highest price of any contacted. They had everything I could have hoped for in terms of information about their products and how they would do the work. They came very quickly when I asked for a quote.

They were punctual and they gave a quote. We were getting different quotes from other people and we thought we had gotten a better quote from someone else. I thought they were too pricey. I never used them. I would use them for at least a quote.

It worked out well. They were excellent. Nothing really that stuck out or that they can improve on.

I never felt sales pressure from Shiner team (should note, that over the years, i have had the same representative perform the home visit). Initial assessment Shiner took a satellite image of the roof for accurately measure; they kept it on file. Had an assessment for the new roof from another company that used high pressure - estimate without the detail imagery and came in with a price about $9,000 higher ($25,000).

Couldn't have been worse. I went with Shiner because they value themselves as an ethical, honest company. I experienced the opposite. When Kevin Shiner's subs were on my roof, I saw a huge rain storm approaching. There were areas of my roof wide open. They did not heed my concern and the storm came, in the heat and humidity of July, and rain poured into my home. My entire top floor was damaged and ruined and mold grew because of heat and no escape due to the tarp on my house. Kevin came to my home and promised me he would take care of everything. He did not, for almost two years. He refused to provide me a copy of the mold report, and kept me and my family living in horrible conditions during the entire time. After hiring an attorney, the work was finally completed, but the damage was already done. I will never use Shiner Roofing again. They are not to be trusted. On top of it all, he still charged me for the roof!

No problems, looks good and seems to been done very well.

We got 5 new roof installation quotes before selecting Shiner. Although Shiner's price is slightly higher than most (not all) for installing a new architectural roof, they provide all the qualities a customer is seeking: 1. Open and knowledgeable communication- competent staff that is available to answer all questions throughout the project via email and phone. Specific details are provided upfront in writing for records. No surprises during the installation. 2. Quality- offer GAF quality products and perform multiple QA checks during and after installation. If something didn't pass the QA check, they return at no cost to fix. Extended warranties are offered at a reasonable cost. 3. Professional- Shiner is a certified GAF company with a long standing history in the metro area and has a staff that was courteous and genuine. We did not encounter any pressure sales or company "boasting" which was welcomed during the roofing contractor selection. This review may be too praising. No, we do not have any connection to Shiner, just simply pleased customers.

Had to replace about half of existing plywood, new roof put in using architecture shingles for longer life. Siding repair on two sections of the house due to wind damage. The sidings were bowed and only needed to be taken apart and reattached more securely. One section of gutter was removed due to ice. Luckily, the fascia board underneath was undamaged and only a new gutter need to be installed. There were three separate crews: roof, siding, and gutter, done on separate days. The work was professionally done, and the cleanup was excellent. The price was fair, and the salesman did not pressure us to buy any extra non-essential work that was not needed.

It was free. Their coupon was for 5% off. He was saying I needed to change out my fan, something I hadn't heard from anybody else. He could've been right, but nobody else said the same thing. The estimate was fine. I wasn't sure. I don't know anything about that kind of stuff. I had gotten 2 other estimates.

Great ,Shiner arrived on schedule and worked in terrible hot weather.Cleaned up before they left.

It was a nightmare. A crane came and dropped boxes of shingles on a very small section of center beam at the top of my roof. 14,400 pounds of shingles (approx. the weight of three cars) then sat on my roof for ten days prior to installation, despite my pleas (and photographs of the damage) asking them to start the job. I encountered numerous cracks and creases in the walls, and later was told by a structural engineer that the home incurred structural damage. Throughout the process, Shiner was defensive and has never accepted any responsibility. Further, even though I was reassured that all installation teams are dedicated to Shiner, the installation team which installed my roof informed me that their primary business was the installation of windows in large office buildings. This perhaps explains why they installed the shingles at the roof line so low as to render many of my gutter helmets useless. While at one point the salesman reassured me that Shiner had strong insurance, I discovered otherwise when my very detailed claim was denied without a reasonable justification. My dealings have not ended and I am contemplating legal options, but I thought it useful to warn others. I have done some research and from what I have read shingle boxes should not be stored more than 3 high in any one spot on your roof -- mine were stored to a height of 12 boxes, or 1,200 pounds on roughly each 16 inches of the center roof beam. Buyer beware!!

A very professional, transparent operation. Shiner staff representatives were very responsive and flexible to our situation. The sales representative who came to our home to provide the estimate had actual roofing replacement experience. Unlike some other firm sales representatives, the Shiner representative went into our attic to inspect the interior wood, and went on the roof to inspect the current condition of the roof exterior. We highly recommend their services. We will strongly consider them for future exterior work.

Based on Angie's ranking, I invited Shiner Roofing to a site visit/cost estimate for the roof and gutter replacement work on my house. Scott came to my house as scheduled and provided me many useful information and technical details. He is polite, efficient, knowledgeable, very professional. He spent more than an hour with us explaining roofing details and provided me his estimate on site on paper. I am impressed on how prepared he is. Unfortunately, after comparing technical and cost proposals of all three invited contractors, we did not selected Shiner Roofing.

Very well, cleaned up every day and kept me informed on the progress. When asked to inspect it the man found a couple of inches poorly sealed at either end of the flattest part and it was promptly fixed.
