Description of Work: Replaced small section of asphalt roof shingles and replaced rotting exterior wood trim pieces with PVC trim pieces. The final results look great. They began the work when they stated they would. The trim work was completed in one day. The roof work was started one day 1 but not completed until several days later. It appeared they didn't have enough shingles to complete the job. But my call inquiring about the situation was never returned. The delay wasn't that big of a deal but the temporary patch didn't stand up very well to a major rain storm. However, as I stared above, the final product looks like a professional job so I am pleased overall.

Description of Work: Put a new roof on my house. Originally, the work seemed good but the ridge vent leaked and boards warped a few years later. The replacement cost was very high and the salesman wasn't knowledgable. The work was done in 2004, but your calendar didn't go back that far. The repairs were last year. I hired Pond Roofing and really liked them.

Description of Work: I did not end up using them. Was looking to replace roof for a 2700 square feet single family. However, their price came in 30% higher even though the material was the same brand as the one provided by the company we ended up using. However, based on my past experience with Shiner, they do quality work. I would use them again if I have minor repairs.

Description of Work: I have to say, after our last 2 house renovations (names of other companies withheld ) this was Polar opposite. They set up a time to come and measure the windows. Arrived right on time. There wasn't any of this between 10 and 12 stuff. We ordered the windows and realized we had missed 2. It wasn't an issue. They added it to the order and came right out and measured. One of the unmentioned companies was still working so we needed to extend the start date, again not an issue. So the windows came in The guys were out here right on time. They put drop cloths down everywhere they went. Joe noticed my wife was working in her home office . So they did the other windows till she was done. Joe also noticed that our front storm door closed really hard and loud. Since they were going to be in and out he adjusted the door so it wouldn't slam and bother her. So they went about there work and honestly I almost forgot they were here.I was trying to fix the back screen and having an issue. Joe was fixing the window sill right next to me. He noticed I was having an issue. I asked him if they did doors, storm doors and front doors. He said yes and then fixed the screen. Took him 2 seconds.( we are still going to call about door estimate)so they finished their work. 2 guys 12 windows and they were done by 7:00 pm. Now mind you they also wrapped the sills and trim. So on his way out, Joe went above and beyond again.He noticed our front door was sticking and very hard to open and close. So he pulled out his screw gun , adjusted the screws and its working perfect. Joe and his helper went above and beyond a good job. It was a pleasure having them do this work. Now , we have used Shiner a few times before this. This is not an isolated incident. This is the most professional company we have worked with. Very friendly , clean and polite. The finished product is great. They take pride in their work. I recommend if you need work done. You have to call Shiner.

Description of Work: Upgrade gutters for high water flow.

Description of Work: They corrected the mess that previous company did, they did all the siding, and applied the metal trim to the windows.

Description of Work: Did not get service done with Shiner. They seemed like a very professional company and provided a very detailed quote. They obviously come highly rated and recommended. Unfortunately, their pricing is out of this world expensive, so I was not able to go with them. Quote for siding was around $26,000 from Shiner (included trim work, repairs, etc). Quote for same exact work from two other companies came in at $12K and $14K. Their reputation is stellar, and I'm sure the work would have been Grade A, however, the pricing wasn't something I could swallow.

Description of Work: We had a representative from Shiner visit our home to give us an estimate for a new roof. We told him that we weren't sure if we needed a new roof, but had concerns about the moss growing on the roof. He went up on the roof to take a look and told us that we have an excellent roof that probably has about 10 more years of life expectancy. He then suggested that we find a qualified company to shampoo the roof to remove the moss. Thank you for an honest appraisal of the situation. It didn't cost us anything. We appreciated the honesty of the rep from Shiner and thanked him for coming out to our house, even though there turned out not to be a job in it for them.

Description of Work: They were excellent. It was a very windy day and the ridge vents needed repair. I called about 3-4 and no one would come because it was too windy. Finally I called Shiner and I got one gentleman to come out and look at it. He had to tie down the ladder and he padded down the vent to make sure it didn’t come loose. I immediately hired him to do the permanent fix.
